Football talk starts at 26:00

In todays episode we recap the NFL Draft for the guys in Black and Gold. An exciting weekend for a handful of now former Hawkeyes as 4 guys heard their name called, and several more signed FA deals around the country. We discuss the landing spots for each drafted guy, how they fit into their new organizations/cities/cultures and more. In the conversation that opens the episode we discuss the reality of post college life, as Grant closes out his school career, how that looked for Kevin and Kluver after football ended, how often we get to see our true friends, and how adult life can become quite lonely in many ways. Really a sad vibe to be honest, but something very relatable with some quality advice and resolve at the end of the conversation.

(00:00):
Very interesting dichotomy of the episode.Today we will talk about the drafted Hawkkeys
huge weekend Draft weekend for the Hawks. It usually is Iowa with the NFL
pedigree. It just is what itis. Cooper, Tory, Logan,
Eric All and Moore signed as freeagents. That doesn't happen until twenty six
minutes into the episode. The firstpart a completely different topic that some of

(00:21):
you may relate to. We'll see, let's have a day, let's go.

(00:52):
It's a school thing. It's noteven there. I don't know if
it's a walk. Guns are goingto take credit for that. Welcome into
the podcast another episode. Just letus know that he's uh, he's interviewing
university coaches now on his own forhis own stuff. What it what can
you? Can you divulge what it'sfor? Is it just for a class
project? Yeah? I mean it'sliterally a it's like a podcast class.

(01:15):
God, I wish they would havehad that. Yeah, and there you
just got to do interviews. AndI thought, uh, I don't even
I feel like it's weird if Isay the coach's name before it actually happened.
We'll keep it under wraps. Butuh, coach, Uh coach X
I thought was a good Uh,it could be a good source. So
it could be a good source.Fired out, Uh, you know,

(01:37):
you fire out an email, seewhat happens, and here we are a
couple. A couple of comments onthe YouTube, by the way, say
they missed the inter music and thatyou guys suck. Uh. I saw
the comments about the first part ofthat sentence. But uh, yeah,
I mean, don't whatever the peoplewant. I mean I can always just
you know, you can always justrip. It's right, that's right there

(02:00):
at the ready. And I alsoI always have but Kevin Ward, good
to see you back out there.I haven't had that one come out.
That's really the best one that wehave, Gary Dolph, can you imagine,
going back to that conversation we hadlast last episode, how amazing it
would be to sit keV Just toimagine sitting in the booth with Gary during
a game. Yeah, it mean, it'd be awesome, It would be

(02:23):
incredible. We can all watch agame together whenever you guys want. So,
I'm flattered Gary, we did.We went to the season opener last
year. Gary. Yeah, Ihad a great time. Actually, yeah,
you're right, it's fantastic. Wewatched. We watched the first three

(02:44):
minutes of the game, thinking,oh my god, we got it.
We're back. We're going to scoreseventy points a game, allow only three
and cruise to the national championship. My thoughts, yep. And that was
the first three minutes of the Hotbaye football season and changed from there.
But isn't it funny? How isn'tfunny how one play and timing and expectation

(03:07):
and anticipation of the season, like, you know, like the first offensive
he was like, oh my god, we're going to be unstop. I
think I think the receiver who caughtthat pass was the Seth Anderson. Yeah,
it was the transfer from like SouthAlabama or something. And then Seth
was he was a you know,he was part of the offense, but
he was I mean, did heeven score any more touchdowns after that?

(03:29):
That is the only touch I don'twant to know the answer to that question.
Check ther check Anderson's stats, andthen we'll take off his fifty yards,
one catch, one touchdown from thatfirst play. Obviously, this is
a little bit, this is afutile thing for me to ask the producer
here on this show with our circumstancebecause of how the Iowa offense has performed

(03:53):
last couple of years. It was, in fact, his only touchdown of
the season. Okay. And howmany catches to be have last year?
Eleven? Okay, so that wasnine percent of his catches. And how
many yards did he have He hadone hundred and fifty, So he had
a third of his yards, tenpercent of his catches, and his only

(04:14):
touchdown in the first offensive play ofthe year. I don't think it was
the first drive or first yeah.First uh, first big offensive play there.
Yeah, It's just it's just funnyhow expectations like that. Uh.
I mean you could you could feelit in the booth that day. We
were up in the press box.We were we were high society that day,
just looking down at the heat.It is good because it was a

(04:36):
toasty dat it was hot. Itwas hot, and uh and those ice
cream sandwiches at the end of thethird quarter they hit. Oh yeah,
life changing. I think three timesa week minimum. I think about it
every day. In fact, I'mthinking about ice cream right now. As
many of you know, I doa Sunday colvert every Sunday. Like Tyler,

(04:59):
how are you so oh, absolutelydying. He gets sponsored, don't
you. That's all I want. That's all I want. What do you
do? What side do you getwith your cheese? But you go to
the cheese skirts absolutely triple butterburger withjust cheese on it. So basically plain
cheeseburger, triple cheese skurts on theside. Of course to scoop hot fudge.
Sunday. That is my Sunday meal. It is about Oh god,

(05:24):
what is it. It's twenty threehundred and fifty calories. It's dense.
It's dense. I mean that's it'sa lot of cheese. It's a lot,
a lot cheese. Kevin's like, eyes are up doing the math.
It's just like, it's a lotof cheese. Fuck, gotta watch you.

(05:45):
If you guys aren't watching the YouTube, what are you doing? Which,
by the way, when when Kevin, when Grant goes off and gets
a big boy job, and he'slike hey, and he eventually sends me
the message and I know it's coming, Grant, I know it's coming.
Grant's like, hey, we gotto talk. And then I'm I'm I'm
gonna have that drop in my stomach. I'm gonna have the butterflies in my
heart and I'm gonna know that it'sthat. Hey, you know, I've

(06:06):
loved being a part of the brand, but you know, I got this.
I got to focus on, youknow, the job that's actually paying
me. And Grant's gonna go andleave us. And Kevin Kevin, as
you know, he's he's a CEOof Striker. He's got a lot going
on, and eventually he is goingto run out of interest for this podcast,
the show, and I will beleft to my own devices here on

(06:26):
this thing. And so the YouTube'sgonna be become a vital portion at that
point, because I think at thatday, I'm just gonna become like a
daily Hawkeye news show, and ifthere's no news, we'll get on.
We'll hop on talk for ten tofifteen minutes, chat away with everybody that's
that's fans of the show every morning, and you know, we'll do like
two longer form or one long formpodcast a week in season. Will still
do the breakdowns, try and bringpeople on, but the YouTube is going

(06:48):
to become and become more and morea vital part of this whole operation.
So I just want you guys tosubscribe hit the bell notifications, leave comments
down below, tell me what youthink Grant's next first real job is going
to be, and uh we'll gofrom there. People are going to be
sending me to Deloitte with do youhaving them guess Deloitte? I don't know.

(07:12):
I'm assuming people would just guess likeGrant does big boy job first.
I don't know what was your what'syour degree in? Right now? It's
a journalism I don't think. No, they do not. They do not
know. Well, our friend Bo, who I don't know if you've met
Bo in person, but you willsoon at the at Attorney a golf tournament.

(07:33):
Uh, he got a I'm noteven sure what his major's in.
And he has been both an engineerand uh and a doctor. That's a
joke. At least he's uh.He also he does what Kevin does,
but well we call him. He'syou know, he's been an engineer and
a doctor, and he got hisdegree in geographical survey. Yeah, surveying

(07:53):
and surveying. So you can reallybe anything you want to be. Grant,
try our best, especially if you'veput your off into one hundred and
fifty thousand dollars worth of debt andyou lie in your resume, that's a
big peak too true true lieor beenthe truth? It could be bending.
I saw I saw a Twitter postand it was like it was a guy

(08:18):
like put on like five years ofexperience on his resume and he's like twenty
four and he got the job,and like he had like previous like referrals
and he had like people like lyingfor him. Yeah exactly, Yeah,
Yeah, that's on like on LinkedInat the bottom under your skills, you

(08:39):
can like vouch for people's skills, yeah, Kevin, Like on my LinkedIn,
I can I can vouch for Kevin'slike uh literacy and Microsoft PowerPoint Yeah,
like yep, I witnessed Kevin newXLX ext extraordinarily well many times.
Yes, Kevin, Kevin's communication skillsare off the chart, trust me,

(09:01):
get the I'm sure the Grant Allenstamp of approval will mean a lot to
these employers. I've only had toso before. I created my own path
that we're on right now. Goodor bad decision, and you have to
be determined. But I once upona time, you remember, Kevin,
You remember when I worked for theNinja Warrior gym, right, I was,

(09:22):
Uh, for those new to thepodcast in the last three years,
what'd you say, Yeah, itwas a long time. It was.
It was pre twenty twenty. Itwas twenty nineteen fall or late summer.
I stopped working there, but Iworked there for about a year and a
half. I was I was theGM. I was the general manager of
a Ninja Warrior kids gym, likejust a you know, basically a big

(09:46):
American Ninja Warrior. There's a bunchof rings and ladders and foam pits and
all this stuff. And I managedthat place in in Clive, Iowa for
about eighteen months. And that it'sthe only time I've had to turn in
a resume, you know, tothe guy who actually owned the place.
He owned the five locations, thehead or whatever, like three in Omaha

(10:07):
and went up here in De Moineand want somewhere else. And that was
like truly one of those times wherelike if, if, if you're gonna
put some references down on your owl, on your resume, the references need
to be people who are like rideor dies, you know, they call
up your reference and they're like, hey, this guy says, he's uh,
he's got a two forty IQ andhe reads a book every other day.

(10:30):
Yep, that's my guy right there, Tyler, best friend since third
grade. What do you want toknow about him? You need a you
need a yes, ma'am. Kevincalled. Somebody calls me and they're like,
hey, you know, Kevin Wardwrote you down as a reference.
I just got a couple of questionsabout him. Yeah, sure, what
do you want to know? Well, also, if you kind of run
in similar tracks of life at somepoint, or like you kind of you

(10:54):
know, same having the same crowda little bit like in your professional career,
people call references that you don't evenlist. It's like, hey,
tell me about this guy, becauseoh yeah, just just people they know
know you. Yeah, exactly. So one job that I applied for way

(11:15):
back when called one of the coacheson the staff because they had contact who
also played in Iowa, and Ididn't think about that, Yeah a former
coach. Yeah that would be especiallyfor someone like you, keV. That
was more of like a public career, like a more well like obviously you
and I have the athlete experience onour resume, and so that's a pretty

(11:39):
like okay, well, if youwere if you played that's how I had
coming out of college. Rights. It's really all we got at all.
Yeah, it's like, how canyou, you know, sell this experience
is a way that you're going tosucceed in a professional career. But if
someone ever, if someone ever callsme keV, just just just no.

(12:00):
I'm telling him, you're three percentbody fat, ten inches below the waist.
And this guy can he can,he can get a deal done.
He can sell whatever you need to. This guy's he's good for it.
Okay, don't worry. Did youtell him that one time you wrote a
three part series, what you wrotea three part book series? That and

(12:24):
that one time that with his dedicationthat we we watched Game of Thrones in
two weeks. That well, that'sI figured you would have just listed that
on your resume. That really shouldhonestly great, You know this right,
skills at an incredible rate. Ihave heard the story. Yes, yeah,
Kevin and I watched the entire wellat the time, there was only

(12:46):
sixty episodes, only six seasons wereout and only sixty hours of television,
and Kevin and I got into itbecause the seventh season was coming out that
fall, and uh so we hadwe had to get it in and it
was summer and we had nothing buta two and a half hour workout on
in the mornings during summer. Soin a matter of I believe it was

(13:07):
fourteen days, but me and Kevinboth went home in the weekend in the
middle of that and didn't watch anyepisodes for two whole days, so it
was really in a twelve day, twelve day timeframe. We watched sixty episodes
of Game of Thrones, some ofwhich got out to like seventy five ninety
minutes. Yeah, I mean weput in some twelve episode days here and

(13:28):
there. It was Kevin and Iwould just look at each other and like,
you know, end of a goodepisode, they leave you on a
cliffhanger. We just kind of lookat each other like, well, can't
stop now, you know, andit's like, ah, that's the end
of the season. It's like,ah, can't stop it. I gotta
start the next season. Truly,keV best two weeks of my life.

(13:50):
I think we watched the first seasonin a We did it all over a
day. I think it was abouta day, and I think we started
after the workout about noon and wefinished like one or two the next time
twenty four hours. Yeah, yes, it was the best, the best
time in my life. Maybe Iwould give a lot of money to be

(14:11):
able to do that for the firsttime again. Well, and this is
why I'm excited. And I knowwe've mentioned it. I know people don't
care. And this is why thisis like the well quite frankly, this
is it's dry season. We're gonnatalk about the draft. Here in a
second. We got four boys goingplaces, so I'll direct you in the
in the front of the episode tothat time stamp here in a second.
But we've got some personal conversation goingon here. You got to buy into
the host. This is you reallybuild the brand. You build the walk

(14:33):
on. Who is Grant? Whois Klover? Who is Kevin? What
are they like? How many hoursof Game of Thrones did they watch in
a row? I can give peoplethat random fact. Now, this is
why I'm very excited for this week, keV, because at the time of
recording this, in about ninety hours, seventy eighty five hours, we're gonna

(14:56):
be flying out to Vegas and thiswill be the first time in eight years,
first time in seven years, sixyears. However, whenever we left
campus, So it was twenty eighteen. So yeah, it was exactly six
years ago that I will have hungout with the boys, just the boys,
no kids, no wives, justthe boys since we walked away from

(15:18):
the from the Benton driveway. Fuck. Yeah, this is the first time
in six years. You know, there's probably been a handful of times,
it's probably under five that I knowyou've home together. But yeah, you
know why, It's like usually it'swhat it was, right, It's like,
yeah, wives are there, thewives and kids are both there.

(15:39):
Nothing against the wives and kids orthe significant others and kids if they have
them. But the last time itwas just the six of us. Yeah.
I mean they'll become of my highschool buddies there as well. But
yeah, that's uh, that's insane, man. I realized that this weekend,
and it's pretty much why I've beenexcited for three months. Well,

(16:00):
let's hope what happens, you know. Yeah, there's a big caveat there.
It's not for certain yet. Yeah, so praying, Yeah, those
are just we're hoping it comes throughyou and I will you and I will
be that. That is honestly, what I'm most excited for is that we
have to get all the boys back. It's really sad. You hear about

(16:22):
it when you're in college. Ofcourse, on on the team. You
always hear like, hey, youguys are never going to get this again.
You got you can't buy this. You can't buy the time with your
teammates, the time in the lockerroom, all this stuff. But what
you don't like, you can't buythe time outside the locker room either.
Like having a wife and kid isamazing and life changing and all the great

(16:48):
adjectives in its own other way,But there's a there's a different lane that
your friends phil And it's a littlebit more exaggerated for me because I don't
really this sounds so sad. Idon't have, Dude, I don't have
I don't have any friends, likeI mean, I think it was kind

(17:10):
of part of just growing up.Man. It's like you're your friends,
especially when your college friends move acrossthe country. You know, you don't
live in the same hometown as yourhigh school friends. Like all my high
school friends went off to college moveback to outside Chicago, Yeah, every
single one, and then the collegefriends like I stayed here and everyone else
everybody left. You know, it'slike, uh, yeah, you can

(17:33):
make friends. It's like at work. You can make friends outside of that
stuff, but it's like there's nobonding experience like there is like with your
high school friends or with your collegefootball buddies. There's nothing that can get
you closer than that, right,Yeah, So like I would consider you
this is like very uh uh,we'll call it frat douche. Uh.
Like I would consider you the house. And then two buddies from back home,

(17:57):
Riley and Blake. I would callyou my boys. Yeah, for
sure. Yeah, I would callLook look at me, man, it's
it's look at the Bashard party. It's right, it's the house I invited.
Jake. He didn't come, bitch, Jake's not coming now. Jake'son
he got crushed with weddings this year, so he's worthless. Yeah. And

(18:19):
then it's it's three of my besthigh school buddies and then Alyssa's brother,
and it's going to be uh oneof my hometown friends who didn't go to
high school with Yeah, So likeI would have So I have you five,
and then two from home, soI have seven like true boys,
Like I text them every day.We text every day in the bent and

(18:41):
chat like it's an ongoing conversation thathasn't stopped since when we left each other
in twenty eighteen. And then Ihave three friends, friends, not boys,
but friends that are adjacent in mylife. I see them once every
six weeks because we all have kidsnow here in town. And they are
the significant others of my wife's friendsfrom college. So Ben Nick and Justin

(19:08):
are the are the husbands of mywife's three best friends that I did not
know until I met them in collegewhen I would visit Lauren. And they're
not my boys, but they're myfriends like they're my and they're the only
friends I have in Des Moines.And I don't I don't go to an
office. And I know, likeyou don't go to an office either,
keV. But you at least likeyou know doctors, you know other salesmen

(19:30):
in your profession. You see,I get. I get a ton of
human contact in my job. Sothat's all I get. Zero, Yeah,
I get zero. I started Itrained in my gym, and and
the last few weeks since January,I started going to the gym once a
week. Uh so I could trainwith col Fish and two of the other
guys up there that are like Iwould like I would actually call them maybe

(19:52):
my my newest friends. And Iget to see them once a week,
and like I go not for thegym equipment, because I get to like
see somebody other than myself. It'sreally really sad. So just twenty minutes
of like sadness on the front endof this episode. But you, like,
I bet there's a ton of peoplethat can relate to that. It's
like, you know, you moveon in your life and you start a
family, and you you don't getmuch time with your friends anymore. And

(20:15):
yeah, like your friends that youdid have might not be near you,
and it's tough to make new friendswhen you're an adult man and you don't
even want to. It's like yeaha little bit. Yeah. Now Luckily
for me, like I get it, Like I said, a ton of
human content. Yeah, you dolike interaction all day and like I do
a bunch of dinners and stuff withand I'm a hermit. I'm like,

(20:38):
yeah, so my social need asa human being is met by my career.
The Yeah, now I will beentering a new stage of life.
Can Diesel is going to get olderand older and she's going to get into
sports, and she's going to getinto activities where I am going to be

(21:00):
forced, and I am. I'mdreading it, absolutely not looking forward to
it. I've already experienced it alittle bit in the neighborhood because all she
wants to do is go outside andplay with the puppies and and there's other
little kids running around, so thenI have to interact with their parents.
Dude, I'll tell you what,man, I I wouldn't I wouldn't be

(21:22):
too dismissive about that. So twoof my best friends from from from hometown,
okay, we became friends. Uh. The oldest one played baseball with
Patrick Mildle's brother growing up. Middleone played with Ryan And now our sets
of parents are best friends. Really, they're best friends. They traveled on

(21:45):
a vacation together and like they hangout all the time. Best friends.
Yeah. I look at I lookat my parents and my parents' friends and
they met through us like the kidsplaying. Yeah, yeah, my parents
at eight years old together. Mydad not so much. My dad is
reconnected and they live back where hewas from high school. So most of
his friends that he hangs out withare like back from his college or high
school past. But my mom allof her friends are my teammates from Marshalltown,

(22:10):
their moms and dads sure, likeyeah, so maybe maybe that's why
I'm dreading it is because I knowthat I'm gonna end up making these new
friends. I'm gonna have to.I'm sort of not a social person,
as you know. Yeah, youknow, And honestly, now I think
about is like, you know, you you kind of alluded to say,
Oh, you feel like kind ofa loser because you don't like have I

(22:32):
feel like you get that much interactionwith your friends because you know life's moving
on, and think back to yourchildhood. Is like, how often do
your parents just hang out with theirfriends? It's true, not friends who
are parents of your friends, eventhough like in my example, they became
best friends, sure, but liketheir friends. Like my dad is still
close with two of his college footballbuddies. Yeah you know they they lived

(22:56):
in the area as well. Idid see him that often. Yeah,
no, I've I understand what you'resaying. My my uh my dad would
go to Vegas once a year withhis high school college group, Okay,
and has every year, and thatthat has become more frequent. It's like
two or three times a year now, little ridiculous guys just want to go

(23:17):
to Vegas. Yeah, I meanif we made it a year a thing,
I wouldn't be upset. My mom, shit, my mom. Oh
God, Like maybe like once everyfour years or five years she would see
like a friend from high school orcollege. It's nuts, dude, It's
it's grant. Are you depressed yetlistening to this? Dude? Just know
that the friends you have right now, you're two weeks away from never seeing

(23:41):
your friends again. Yeah, I'mdoing the mathma head'wi. You know this
is a potentially uh this right aroundthe corner. How many boys do you
have right now? Two or threebest friends in college? Uh? Yeah,
I got like a we got agood core group. I live with
most of them. Yeah, guesswhat say goodbye that? Yeah? Well,
I mean I'm you know, Igraduate and like two weeks now,
right, and I kind of sitaround sounds like, you know, I

(24:03):
like a lot of these dudes, but it's a good chance after I leave,
like I just might just never seesome of these people ever again.
I think the moral of the storyis, like you have to make it
a priority to see your friend, you have to schedule it. And for
us, like we've gone through thatphase where like everyone's gotten married for the
last five years and that's how wegot together, like once a year.
You know, everyone made it toevery wedding, but like you know,

(24:25):
Josie got married and I got married, I got married, Clue got married,
Oh got married, Oh got married. I'm getting married this year.
Drake's probably never getting married. Butwe'll all meet at Drake's funeral. We'll
be at Drake's funeral. Yeah,But from here on out, it's like
we're gonna have to make it apoint to get together. If we want
to get together, Yeah, we'regonna have Yeah, we're gonna have to

(24:45):
make this like just like hey, guys, once a week, once a
year, we got set a weekand aside and just go. We got
I know, and that's all. That's probably all you're gonna get, right,
you know, wife and kids. You're not you can't ask for much
more than one week and away. You can't ask for much more. And
honestly, once you you don't reallyI mean, there's some variance in how

(25:08):
much you'd like it or not.But like if you're if you like your
wife and you like your like youwant to be around them, you don't,
you know, like you don't wantto be away. We've we've done
this, we've we've planned a fewthings in the past or whatever, and
I, you know, Ike willbe like I just don't want to be
away from the kids that long. And then like I had Ken and I

(25:30):
started to understand that, I'm like, yeah, I just like like,
for the last two weeks, thejoke has been Ken is a daddy's girl,
just all the time Dad Dad likenever says mom. Like Lauren's getting
pretty annoyed by it. And thewhole joke has been like Ken, are
you gonna be okay? Like I'mI'm gone for three four days, Like
you're gonna have to be with momfor the weekend, Like what are you

(25:51):
guys gonna do? They got awhole weekend playing with Grandma and stuff.
But yeah, I'm like, comeSaturday, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be
missing the white kid pretty bad.Like it's you get pretty attached. So
uh, I'm sure that was asuper relatable conversation for a lot of people
out there, And I hope Ididn't make any of you sad, but

(26:11):
maybe it's a little wake up call, like hey, call your group of
boys right now, send the textto your buddies, like, hey,
let's have we got to make ithappen. It's good together. If nothing
changes, nothing changes, you haveto make it happen here. So that's
what it is. Uh, twentysix minutes is where I'll direct the people
to Welcome to the meat and potatoesof the podcast. All right, there's

(26:33):
a couple Hawk guys that got takenin the NFL draft this weekend. We're
going to talk about them, fourof them to be exact. And Uh,
it's funny. Zero Huskers taken.Uh Kevin had to step away?
Is the entire draft? What?No Huskers? Zero zero? Not a
single corn Shucker was taken in allseven rounds, all two hundred and eighty

(26:57):
picks or two hundred, I don'tknow how many picks are there. Unfortunately,
what is it unfortunate that no Cornhuskerswere taken? I think it's kind
of funny. Yeah, I meanwell, I'm sure they were hoping that
people were going to get drafted.Reason that could be a secondary sort of
a a back end maybe a problemfor Hawkeye fans later is the fact that

(27:22):
they had a lot of guys stayand use their their COVID year. So
I think, what is it Thisupcoming season is the last time people can
use a COVID year maybe next year, And I think so. And Nebraska
is bringing back a pretty experience Imean, so is Iowa. But Nebraska
is bringing back a pretty experienced defense. And they've got ray Ola making all

(27:45):
these plays at the spring game.I saw the highlights throws an ice ball
through a couple of nice balls, and you know, I think they got
some some guys. Searles sort oftalked about that in his episode. They're
catching some uh a few athletes atthe skill position, so that should be
a more veteran team in what yeartwo under Matt rule, So it wo

(28:08):
makes sense. Yeah, and uh, you know, I think they're probably
I haven't looked at their schedule,but I think they're probably a five hundred
ball club. Like I think Rules, the guy that's finally going to dig
them out of this hole. Idon't know if he takes them to the
top of the mountain, but Ithink he's better than Frost. I think
he's already proven that. So alsoTory Taylor. We'll get to him.

(28:32):
He wasn't the first guy off theboard for the Hawks, but Tory Taylor
was drafted before Iowa State's best guy, meaning our punter was better than every
possible draft eligible player from the cyclowns. And that's something you do love to
see. Grant so love to see. No. I think the Bears got
a steel there. I had afirst round grade on Tory Taylor in my
in my mock drafts and my powerhe felt he fell. Yeah, I

(28:56):
think they got a total steel. They nabbed him there. Huh. I
think that was a total steel.I can't believe they got in that late
fell right into the Bears lab.Punter is weird. Special teams is weird
because it's super supply and demand oriented. So you might have a guy like
Tory who and Tory might be anoutlier because Tory was. I think he's

(29:21):
the second highest drafted punter since twentynineteen, so in the last five years,
he's the second highest punter drafted sincetwenty twelve. He's like the he's
the third highest punter drafted in thelast over a decade. It is crazy.
I would have assumed fourth round wasthe highest anyone, any punter has
ever gone. I don't even knowwho the I guess was it Townsend Maybe

(29:45):
I'm looking right now. The highestI believe it was this Ron Stark was
taking in the second round in nineteeneighty two. Okay, can I get
a common era like a can Iget like like pre Google or search me?
Twenty nineteen punter drafted and twenty twelvepunter drafted because those were the two

(30:06):
years they gave. So anyway, the point I'm trying to make there is
a guy like Tory sort of generational, at least they expect him to be.
He's he's you know, plus allthe attention that he's gotten for McAfee
and the national media the last fewyears. He is a guy that he
was probably gonna get taken regardless. But like at your average good punter,
like the top three punters coming outevery year, they could be unbelievable,

(30:30):
like exceptional punters. But if everyNFL team kind of had like a good
situation going on last year, ifevery team was just like, yeah,
we kind of like we were okay, And there's years like that in special
teams where every there's usually one ortwo kickers or one or two punters that
didn't do great. But with theamount of guys out there who are trying
to catch on. We've talked aboutshoot At and Keith Duncan and Miguel Rosinos.

(30:53):
I mean just the fact that thosethree guys right there, with how
good they were for the Hawks andnone of them caught on, that means
that they're getting beat out by otherguys who these NFL teams are considering like
they're okay. Yeah, So theskill level, the amount of luck and
like it, there's just the demandis doesn't quite meet the supply for these

(31:15):
guys. And in turn, whatthat means is like you could have a
great, great, great kicker ora great punter of every once in a
while, a long snapper woul getdrafted. I don't know if any snappers
got drafted this year. They couldbe great, and they could be a
free agent pickup after the draft becausethere's just no need, like people don't
want to spend a pick on them, so for them to for them to

(31:37):
grab Tory at one twenty two.I believe fourth round pick one twenty two
keV Tory Taylor bear Down, whichwas at the time I believe their last
pick of the draft, and thenthey picked up one they traded for another
one. I think in like thenext round. Yeah, yeah, it's
crazy. We're gonna camp bar draftoff here. Fourth round punter. Start
it with Caleb Caleb Williams, endit with Tory Taylor. Good book ends

(32:01):
there, and then you see uhCaleb Centauri at texts like hey, we're
not going to need you a wholebunch. Yeah, and then all the
jokesters and the replies were like alot of fumbling and interceptions incoming. Twitter
will never let you win. Uhso I did want to share. I

(32:21):
share though. So to the twentytwelve guy was Brian Anger. Oh yeah,
Jaguars selected him in the third round, seventieth overall. Wow, but
this is this is is so Innineteen seventy nine, Russell erksmin I don't
I don't know how to pronounce. There's a lot of consonants next to each
other there. But he was draftedeleventh overall. You're shipping in nineteen He

(32:42):
had to play some other position too. Probably he's probably like QB punter hybrid.
But right, ray guy went twentythird overall. Oh my wow,
Christ yeah, Hey, they valuedthe punter and field position back then,
Kevin, they valued them. Isaw a lot of Hey, I saw
a lot of hybrid Bear Iowa fansbecause that's why it was so big,

(33:05):
Like a ton of Iowa fans areof the Kevin bloodline there where it's like,
hey, I'm from Chicago. They'renot really from Chicago. They're from
like Aurora or the Chicagoland area, but like they hang around Chicago, or
they come to Iowa City or theycome to work in Cedar Rapids. So
they're all Bears fans and they're Hawkeyefans. And so Tory couldn't have hit

(33:28):
better because how he has half thefan base already knows who he is.
A lot of people on Twitter arelike, hey, I know this is
a joke, Like this isn't fun, Like Tory is going to be a
massive pick for us. Everybody getvery excited about this because our field position
is about to be absolutely elite. And I would agree with them, like
what a pick up. And I'mexcited for Toy. The cheers of when

(33:49):
Tory Taylor goes out there are goingto be for some Bears fans, it
will be very unexpected but they're goingto be very right. There's a high
percentage of Iowa fans that they willcatch on quickly. Yes, they will
catch on quickly in that stadium, which, by the way, did you
guys see the new concept for thenew Bears stadium? The ell? I
don't think I had no. Iknow they were. They're planning on put

(34:10):
in that. It looked absolutely beforethe old horse racing facility track was so
it looks unbelievable. But you know, like you know it's gonna cost eight
hundred trillion dollars or whatever, youknow, so it's always just concept right
now. Anyway, I don't knowif Kayleb Williams is the is the answer.
A lot of people seem to thinkhe is. The Bears are kind

(34:31):
of cursed as of As of late, Jake Cutler is like their best quarterback
in the last two decades. SongWhat's wrong with Jake Cutler? Nothing?
I love Jake Keller actually had acouple of years there to throw it to
al Seon. Jeffrey was a dog. But this is probably the best receiving

(34:51):
core the Bears have had in awhile. They got rome A doons and
that's a hell of a. Imean they they had a good draft.
I mean that's awesome. And pickup to go who you want to be
your franchise quarterback and who you areexpecting to be a top level talented receiver,
one of the two best receivers inthe draft. Yeah, yeah,
to get them in the same draft, and yeah, hopefully they you know,

(35:15):
can get a good understanding each other, good compatibility. Yeah, that's
awesome. Also, how many timesdoes the number one pick go to a
seven and ten team last year?Like then seven and ten? Yeah,
the Bears were I mean they startout like h to five or whatever,
but they like usually you're going tolike a two to three win team like
the Bears. I mean, let'snot make any mistake and say that the

(35:37):
Bears are not They are not adumpster fire organization. They they've been a
running pretty poorly for the last day. Right, But I'd say, like
situationally, like Bryce Young last yearwent to the better than Young. That
was tough for Bryce, right,Like situationally, like Gil Williams, it's
not bad, it's not the worst. No, No, That's what I'm

(35:59):
saying is he has some targets tothrow the ball to. Right, does
he issues on the offensive line wason the twilight of his career. But
you know you got Dj Moore, keenan now rookie day who should be pretty
solid, so yeah, come outas the tight end. Yeah. Uh,
Ken, would you consider yourself aBears fan? You know, not

(36:22):
really? I guess if I gotunder my head and I had to pick
a team, I'd say the Bears. We were never a huge NFL fanly
growing up. We were all likeall in on college. Sure, sure,
well kind of like since it's beenHey, who are my buddies playing
for? Yeah, now it's justlike who who's a Like, I'm a
Niners fan just because George. Uh, there is one reason I guess I'm

(36:45):
a Panthers fan now. Definitely, dude, We're this is a Hill fan
there for a while for Ike,and this is a huge Panthers podcast by
the way, we're jam U Duke'spodcast. We're also now a Carolina Panthers
podcast, which is kind of sad, but I'm I'm I'm hype for it.
Let's do it. We got tomove to the East coast, so
yeah, basically we got to takethis up. Where is Jamie? Are

(37:05):
they in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Yeah, they're in Virginia, Virginia. This
is we got to take this intothe Atlantic Ocean. Probably we do have
one resident true NFL fan that isproducer Grant. And how do we feel
about bon Nicks in the in theDenver Broncos. I trust Sean Payton.
I think it's fine, and Ithink at his spot it's like, okay,

(37:27):
like is bon Nicks maybe like gradewise or reach at twelve? Sure,
but I was like, who whoelse did you want to pick?
Like we needed a QB? Right, this is what we needed, Like
he likes Bonicks a lot. Ifyou don't pick a quarterback there, who
is the quarterback for the Broncos Probablya either it's either Zach Wilson, Jarrett
Stidham, Ben Denucci or another likemaybe they get Michael Pratt or something later.

(37:49):
It sounds like a purpose they getSpencer Rattler later or something. So
I don't know. I think likeit sounds like Peyton really really likes bon
Nicks, So I'm just gonna trustit now. I will Knicks defender.
So don't like to to the death, Okay, but I like I like
the Broncos draft we got good guys. We've got a lot of studs.
Okay, a lot of studs outthere. Good for you, guys.
I hope it works out. That'swhat I kind of wanted Brock Powers secretly

(38:13):
at twelve. But it's okay, that would have been cool. Yeah,
he's what It stinks too that hegoes then to the Raiders the very next
pick. So now instead of havingBrock Bowers, you get to play him
twice a year. Yeah, that'stough. I mean that. I'm a
Bonux guy. I watched. Iwatched a lot of the highlights. Sure,
you did a lot of the tape, and I am a believer.
All right, I'm glad. I'mglad that you're happy with it. Glad

(38:35):
that you come away from the weekendhappy. Very cool to see the scenes
there in Detroit. Uh. Eminemwalks out on stage to open the draft.
They crushed the record for Draft attendants, like seven hundred thousand people attended
it. And that's what That's somethingI was curs, what do you?
What do people do the entire time? It's like a name gets announced every
ten minutes, Like the people thatare staying there a mile away from the

(38:55):
stage what are you doing? Theremust be like beer vendors, so you
just stand there and think, yeah, no, it's it's a giant tailgate.
Yeah, I think it's a tailgate. I think there's probably like out
in the out back, like towardsthe back of it, in the open
fields, like I think they setup like there's like events, there's activations,
there's brands, there's play some bags. Uh, you know in the

(39:17):
more open spots towards the I don'tknow, but they got seven hundred thousand
people there and it was kind ofinsane. Detroit went nuts. They are.
Detroit is a football town right nowbecause they're riding that wave of Sam
Laporta and Jack Campbell and the Lyoanswho just went to a division, you
know, a differension. Yeah,a division championship or a conference championship.
Yeah. And uh, I thinkit's cool to see the Lions be good.

(39:44):
You know, it's cool to seebad teams get good. So I
mean, I'm a d Campbell fan. I like, oh, Dan Campbell
is so awesome. Uh. Firstwe'll get to the the other three.
Now. We talked about Tory alittle bit. First, Hawk guy off
the board and everybody he knew thiswas going to be the case was Cooper
Degene, although a little later thanpeople expected. He was kind of projected

(40:06):
in that first Eagles pick slot fromtwenty two all the way to the back
of the first round twenty two tothirty two. Coop not only slides to
the second round, but then heslides another like six or eight picks to
forty uh and the Eagles get himanyway, they got They had me psyched
about that. They got Quinnion Mitchelland Cooper Degene. Yeah. I think

(40:27):
they had what like the thirty firstpass right defense last year or something like
that. Something like they're they're probablylike, who do we want at this
twenty two spot? And you know, we got our choice of dB,
because I don't think any DB's beenchosen at that point. This guy's crazy
athletic. We gotta we gotta gowith this. I think he rans like
a four to three flip quick.Yeah. The kid from Toledo is he's

(40:51):
sort of like freaking nature. Imean, Coop, You're like, ah,
we would be great, Coop, but I think this guy could be
like a shut down, lockdown corner. Yeah, and then up they're probably
like you know, end of thefirst night happens like and we picked a
way away from got a chance, and it comes happens, comes around like
boom, we got him, that'sall. And dude, they have Darius

(41:12):
Slay at one at one corner already, and I think he's a top five
guy in the league right now.Uh you know, you put him up
there with guys like Sauce Gardner,uh, Jalen Ramsey, you know,
name a few others. You gotDarius Slay on one side, You put
this quin On Mitchell at the othercorner, and then you throw Cooper in
is the nickelback or maybe rotating inat safety reps like put them wherever you

(41:36):
want, wherever you need him there. And their defense was already like pretty
good. Their past defense wasn't.Their past defense wasn't. But I mean,
god damn they are. I sawa few I saw a few tweets.
There's some crazy NFL fans on Twitterand uh, Coop got drafted and
underneath, you know, the NFLtweet of that was like how the how

(42:00):
of did the Eagles come away withthe two bets? Like I am I'm
a I am a SO and sofan and I am pissed about this.
How do we let them get awaywith this? Like other teams were absolutely
livid that the Eagles were able todo that, and that's a I mean,
hey, now we're Philadelphia fans.I was just saying, are you
gonna get a Kelly Green Dejean jersey? Probably not? But you know,

(42:23):
if I was ever going to crossthe path, o, I you know,
the the Kelly Green Dejean would beup there, the black and blue
jewel jersey would be up there.Uh, a Kittle jersey would be up
there, but only only of ourguys. I'm never gonna wear somebody guy.
I just mentioned Coop Coop Josey Kittle. I just want to make sure,

(42:47):
did you guys see that crazy questionhe got asked like right after on
uh, you know, there's nota lot of white corner It basically got
asked like will being white stop youfrom playing cornerback at the NFL? It
really is funny, how if youit? Like how the when it's a
question and I I don't care aboutany of this, but like it's just
it's a little bit I'll think younever asked yeah any quickly, just quickly

(43:12):
flip that it's like a D linemanwho's like Hawaiian, Like you think Hawaiian
might uh kind of mess you upplaying D line in the NFL. What
sir, What it's like one ofyears ago, like the stigma about black
quarterbacks, right you or somebody likeyou know back in the sixties, somebody
just like you know asking uh,Hank Hank Aaron. They're like, you

(43:35):
think being black's gonna be tough foryou playing baseball? What dude? Coop
Coops up there like, Uh,they put me wherever, I'll play wherever,
just like I'll just I'll just playwherever. You know. Yeah,
cool to see him go. Uhlost some money there, lost some money
those those as you slide a pickand pick and pick. I mean if

(43:58):
he could have gone at twenty twoand he's at forty, it's a lot
of money. But Coop will makea lot of money likely in that second
contract. You just trust that hewill. And Uh, he's just one
of those guys like he'll he'll turnout fine. He's an Iowa guy.
Second guy off the board wasn't aHawk for as long as we would have
liked him beer as many reps aswe would have liked him to be.
But I think it was like onefourteen Eric all off the board tight end

(44:22):
goes to the Bengals, and alot of people when he got drafted calling
him like a like one of thesleepers of the draft because of his injury,
he was kind of low key.He slips to the fourth round.
He's athletic as hell, he canrun and if he's healthy, Yeah,
that's to stay healthy, dude.If he's healthy, I think he's he's
got potentially to be an NFL starter, Like he's he could be the guy.

(44:45):
And then finally, Logan Lee,friend of the show, didn't talk
anything about football when he came on, but we knew that he was impressive,
and obviously a few teams thought hewas impressive as well. Sixth round,
he's gonna stay in the black andgold, which is great. Looks
great on him. He's a Steelerkind of guy. Going out to Pittsburgh.

(45:05):
Yeah, I feel like he screamsPittsburgh. There was one team Logan
Lee was gonna go play for. It's Pittsburgh. Here we go, dude.
I'm happy for him. And hey, and I don't know where he
you know, the if you goto like our lads dot com. They
always have the updated depth charts, like right away Steelers depth chart, uh,

(45:25):
and they're pretty accurate on like whereguys are gonna be slotted in as
far as first and second seeds orfirst and second strings, and they slot
Logan Lee in all right, sothey got him third at the tackle,
but I I saw him, Well, you're, first of all, you're
behind Cameron Hayward there, so that'sthe automatic second string. Uh. But

(45:49):
they said he's they see him asa as as they could. They could
kind of play him wherever, andand that he I mean, he's not
gonna be on the edge, likestanding up a whole lot, but he's
gonna be does that job pretty wellfor them. Yeah, he's TJ what
is pretty good. He's all right, but uh, yeah, he's gonna
I'm excited to see loganly. Ithink he's a guy that sticks. I

(46:13):
think he sticks. I agree. Now do you think his teammates might be
a little shocked at first by hishis diet, his shake. That's the
only thing that's working against him islike the GM and just watches him throw
a whole chicken breast in the blender. And he's just like, I just
can't handle that. There could bethere could be issues if the rest of
the team or some staff walk intothe facility and he is just blending a

(46:37):
whole chicken breast and fine, he'sin nine eggs to put the whole chicken
in there, nine eggs and awhole chicken breast in a a in a
vita mix, you know, andhe's in there like, yeah, hey,
guys, it doesn't taste that. It's actually not that bad, you
know? Was that one of ourmore viral clips is him describing his shake.

(47:00):
Uh, it's up there. Iwouldn't call it viral, but out
of all the clips that we putup, it's definitely in like the top
ten or fifteen percent. It's wellabove average. Yeah, for sure.
It doesn't match the you know, choose your animals in a in an arena
clip from last summer. I haveto go back and see if there were

(47:21):
that was that was wild. Imean, if that sounds anything, that
just tells you that we have togo further away from the sports we just
talk about more about that. So, yeah, that makes me think that
our conversation earlier about being lonely andnot having friends might go viral within the
middle aged community. Like we mightgive a five hundred thousand clips if grant
clips say like, hey, youhave no friends, make it happen.
Call your buddies right now, planthat trip to Vegas like that, Hey,

(47:45):
that might become a sound that peopleuse and then they and then they
like rally the boys and then theyrally. Yeah. I don't know any
other thoughts from draft weekend, eitherof you shout out Joe Evans picked up,
Hey, there we go. That'sthat. Thank you for that.
We got a few that got pickedup. Joe Evans going to the Ravens.

(48:06):
Steven Stellianos who didn't get a lot, He didn't get as much time
as he probably would have liked forthe Hawks. But he's I think signed
with the Titans. Noah Shannon whogot absolutely boned by the NC double A
and I think they those the kidswho got boned by that just I think
they just opened up a lawsuit.I don't know, but they should get
so much money. Uh, he'llbe going out to Las Vegas. We

(48:30):
might see Kevin and I might seehim this week. Who knows we should
hit him up? We should,he'll be there, He'll be out there
right. Who else got picked up? Joe Noah Steven there was one more,
poor guy. I'm just forgetting abouthim, not feel bad. Who

(48:50):
else would have been a who elsewould have been a senior that was trying
to like like every like every senioron defense came back. So, dude,
I can't think I'm missing somebody.I don't think there is an Maybe
there isn't anymore. I thought therewas four, but that makes seven maybe
eight to the Raiders, Yes tothe honest, to the and then yeah,

(49:14):
Joe Evans to the Okay, no, he's Jes to the Ravens,
not the Raiders. Ravens. Yeah, take so shout out to the boys.
You know something Kevin and I didn'tget to do. I wish we
would have. Oh do we count? Like? Uh? Make it like
four and a half. Tyrone TracyTyrone got drafted in the fourth round.

(49:34):
I think, didn't he? Yeah? And well it was funny that they
threw up just like exclusively Iowa highlightswhat he got against against US or when
he was playing for US. No, like he was playing and they had
like twenty one to twenty three onthem. His his career wasn't that great.
No, it wasn't that kids athletic. That kid, that kid's got
talent. If he if he canfind the right spot, I think he

(49:58):
might have the ability to stick ona for somewhere too, for a couple
of years. A week. Oh, I feel like what his first year
was the year after we got therepretty close at least eighteen maybe nineteen.
So he's if not eighteen, twentynineteen was his first year, I mean,
yeah, he's twenty four probably.Yeah, I feel like he which
is old in the NFL. Ifyou're twenty four to twenty five, that's

(50:21):
That's again the weird thing with theseuh with these next couple drafts, it's
like you've got guys that are old. Man Like, he's like, how
much how many how much track yougot left by the time you get to
your second contract? You past yourprime? Yeah, like how much treads
left on this tire? Brother? You know. So, if we're talking
age, how do you guys feelabout the UH? Like? The big
talk is the Falcons decision to takeMichael Wild, that wild Wild decision.

(50:45):
They just signed Kirk Ocuzy to likefour hundred billion dollars and they decide with
the eighth pick to grab Penix.Right. I mean you signed Kirk Cousins
to a big deal thinking like,Okay, you have a window that you
can compete here for like what,it's not three years? Four years?
You would think the idea is Ithink it's four, but there's probably I

(51:07):
believe it's Let's say you think youhave a three year window that you can
go win. That's why you signedthis guy for a shit ton of money,
which means you should probably get somebodythat can help you out in those
Get him some weapons, yeah,or get him get him an offensive line
into block form, or get adeep help off the defense, do anything
but any other than the guy that'sgonna sit on the bench so weird man.

(51:29):
Right, you can maybe look atit like next year or the year
after that, get somebody who cansit behind it this year and also again,
you're getting somebody to sit behind aguy who's already that twenty five years
old. Yeah, when he ifKirk plays out his contract, I mean,

(51:50):
Heedix is gonna be Pennix is gonnahave two year, two kids and
a wife and a and he'll alreadybe pulling retirement by the time he gets
a chance to start. I mean, it's it's crazy. I don't know,
that's crazy. It's almost like,I mean, I guess it's never
terrible to go top ten, butit's like almost a bad situation for Pennix
too. You don't want to getdrafted into a spot where you got to

(52:13):
played right away and there's just nothingaround you to help you develop it at
all. But at the same time, like he's already pretty developed quarterback.
He's the one more veteran quarterbacks inthe draft bo Nix, right, And
sure, like NFL is obviously waydifferent than college, and you know a
year might be beneficial to him tosit on the bench. And but are

(52:36):
you and are they playing on cuttingKirk Cousins in a couple of years.
I don't know. I don't knowWilson, And I'm paying a bunch of
money for if I'm Kirk. I'mfeeling good though, because either way,
I got like that one hundred andsome million doc contract. I will say
this, out of all the quarterbacksdrafted and they I think if I was
Kirk Cousin, I'd be pissed.Oh, you're certainly pissed. Said he

(52:57):
had no idea that they called himwhen they were on the clock and they
were like, hey, by theway, we're gonna we're gonna draft Penix
right here. And he was likefucking why, Like okay, you the
owner, the owner talking to thewild it's like trying to comprehend what the
jam. He was trying to explainit to him, like hey, but

(53:20):
like listen, bro, like listen, this is the plan and he was
just like and the owner is justlike not comprehending. It was like everybody
else on earth. Out of thesix quarterbacks in that record six first six
of twelve picks, I do thinkthe most interesting and I'm very intrigued to
see how he does. Is Iwant to see what JJ McCarthy does with
the Vikings. I'm intrigued to knowif like he can, if he's going

(53:44):
to translate. I think everybody's alittle bit like, is he gonna be
good? Is he gonna be right? And uh, I think they're giving
him the keys and what I likethat? Yeah, J got the keys
and who knows. I kind oflike the Vikings Like if I had to

(54:05):
pick a team, maybe like theVikes are cool. I like the Rams,
but uh I don't know. We'llsee. McCarthy's done a lot of
winning. We'll see if he canif part of that is because of him.
I'm interested to see. I don'tthink he's going to a great situation
right now, but I think JaneDanis might be end up being the best

(54:25):
quarterback dog I want to see.I'm curious about Drake may the most.
Yeah, I think he's interesting. They're all going to get ample opportunity here.
One of the funnier memes I sawcome out of the weekend was Marvin
Harrison, he might be the bestplayer when we look back at his draft.

(54:46):
Somebody tweeted photo of Marvin Harrison andKyler Murray's first first appearance together them
meeting, and it's just a pictureof Marvin Harrison Junior, like so big
on the left and I'm like, and then you look at the bottom and
it's half of it's half of KylerMurray's head. Man, this guy just
gets absolutely torched for being five eleven. It's the funniest thing. It might

(55:09):
be a good fantasy pickup man.Deandrew Hopkins had a couple like a really
good year when Cayler is thrown toYeah, yeah, I mean, I
think Marvin Harrison Junior is a plugand play like immediate good, like wide
receiver, one option in fantasy likehe's just a sure thing. He's so

(55:29):
good, he's so polished. Imean, it helps when you have those
genetics and he's just he probably dad. I mean, I think his dad's
a Hall of Famer. He is. Yeah, jeez, I mean that's
a that's a lot to put ona kid. But he's he's got the
raw talent, that's for sure.He doesn't that's tough. Certain. Yeah.
Yeah, Kyler is no Peyton, not even close. But we'll see

(55:54):
fun draft episode slash. You don'thave friends after twenty three episode and I'm
glad we can talk about it,and it's part of why we have this
podcast, so we can get onme and Kevin can not feel lonely.
We can fight our depression as adultsin America. And we're happy that you
joined us. By the way, decision that I just told the boys before
this, we talked about how itwas dry season. It was so dry

(56:16):
for content, and I realized thata lot of you, even though the
common every week every episode listeners duringthe season. In the out of season
you got things going on. It'snot football. There's no football week to
week. You don't care as much. Maybe you're into another sport. It
is absolutely dry, dry dry,as well as the next couple months are

(56:37):
super busy for the tech guy here, the one who runs this show.
And then towards the end of that, Kevin's getting married as well. So
we've got a lot going on thissummer, so multitude of reasons. We're
going to switch to one episode perweek moving forward. We're not going anywhere
on the Patreon Drake and Gary Fridaystill happening basically every week. DHT happening
