It's KF ten point zero. He'smoving to all mobile quarterbacks. He heard
the criticism. Now he's it's like, all right, we'll get quarterbacks that
can run. Brendan Sullivan. It'sgoing to transfer from Northwestern to Iowa and
we're going to talk about that.A QB with experience bolstering the quarterback lineup
in Iowa City. We also talkedKate Martin, Caitlyn's financial effect that's already
taking place in the WNBA, anda whole lot more. Let's have a

(00:22):
day, let's go. We're backfor another episode of the podcast. Several

(00:55):
people, if you're watching on theYouTube, by the way, subscribe same
name washing up walk Ons on theYouTube's thirty three working on thirty four,
climb to thirty five hundred subscribers. It helps go leave a comment. You're
not gonna be kate at commenting commentson every video, but you know everybody
else helped the algorithm out there.Road to ten o k on YouTube,

(01:15):
Yeah, road to ten thousand,Road to ten thousand. I heard when
you hit ten thousand on YouTube, everything like you just opportunities just really start
to open up for you. Peoplemiss the intro music, but that's okay.
You can just imagine it, orif you want, you can pull
up JPB high on YouTube free musicand just play it and then click play

(01:36):
on our video right after it starts. I want that we just roll right
in now. Grant the producer onthe side screen, trying to figure out
the new controls of this restream twopoint zero. I know he loves that,
Kevin, welcome back to real life. Yeah. I felt like we
were in a dream for there alittle bit. But it's good to be

(01:57):
back. Is that what it feltlike? A dream? Did feel like
a dream? Best weekend of yourlife? Just woke up and it was
over? How does that weekend compareto for anybody unaware? Kevin's spachel party
this past weekend Vegas. Hell ofa time, by the way, hell
of a time, hell of acareer success, I would call it.

(02:20):
Oh yeah, met every expectation andthen some No one died, no one
was arrested. Uh getting married,So this is all good things and you're
still getting married? Yeah, noone. No one woke up on top
of the casino with a bunch ofchips. Uh right, And if they
did, they didn't tell us aboutit. And that's I honestly probably a
smart move on their on their part. There there was a few Saturday night

(02:45):
that if the night goes another way, that was maybe a possibility. Okay,
had one guy not even make hisplay ride back home. So for
a you're gonna name name here,no no names, no names. What
happened in Vegas. Stays in Vegas, but had a little sleep, had

(03:06):
a little sleep in the airport, ended up staying way longer than he wanted
to. But it was a goodtime. Highlight of the trip for you.
keV oh oh the boat, theboat. Huh oh yeah, yeah,
I think the boat. I wasgonna say that's definitely top three.
We went to Stadium Swim at Circaand there is a there's an item on

(03:31):
the menu called the s S Feast, the Stadium Swim Feast, and they
bring it on a model boat. But it's not like a little toy boat.
It is. It is wheeled ona cart. And we didn't even
I mean we hardly put it dent. I mean we did a pretty good

(03:53):
job. That's that's fake news.We probably ate it. Yeah, it
was a lot of food. Itwas great sly chicken tenders, fries,
nachos, shrimp is lobster corn dogs. Yeah, we're fired. The dinner
Friday night. M m. Thatmight take the cake though. Yeah,

(04:15):
that was tops for me. Fantasticsteak dinner, unbelievable, three hours of
conversation. Uh as we as wealluded to on the last podcast, which
did hit home for a lot ofpeople. A lot of people send it
in like wow, that podcast maybehit a little too hard. The whole
friendship as you know, and beingan adult thing. Uh, at minimum,

(04:38):
you don't have to get a weekendtogether with your with your buddies.
Maybe just a dinner, just out, find a nice place to go to
dinner, really rejuvenate beer you knowthere, then then driving distance thing its
me for a beer, talk foran hour. Find a local watering hole
exactly, Grant, what's your localwatering hole? Where'd you find yourself on

(04:59):
this sinkle to my week? Iwas, I was sitting on I was
exploring the patios a lot on youknow, it's nice in Iowa City right
now people busting them open. Soif you had a patio, I was
probably inner around it somewhere in IowaCity. That is local establishment. It's
not just random residences in Iowa City'spatio. Just showing up to people's houses.
I saw you have a patio.I would like to drink a beer

(05:20):
on your back deck. Yeah, hey, this this patio was gorgeous.
Do you mind if it's like askingsomeone to bet their dog? Like,
do you mind if I just drinka beer? Do you mind if I
just drink a beer? Uh?Drake for those as by the way,
Yeah, I would like to knowwhat horse Kevin picked in the Kentucky Derby
or horses? Mm, we were. We were betting Sierra Leone pretty hard,

(05:46):
okay, so losing by a nostrilstough, but I did have have
them in the wind Place show,so we ended up betting money. Was
also bet in Fierceness was also bejust a touch. Those are my three
horses that was bet pretty okay? Now, did you guys explore the other
races are just the main event? We did it. We did bet some
of the uh probably the previous threeraces as well. Okay, I think

(06:11):
I went over three in those ones. That's okay. Horses are tough.
I tell you what's going on.I'll tell you what it is the most
exciting gambling there is. Yes,absolutely great. There is not a close
second. No, it's so great. Slots, table machines. You're watching
it on one hundred foot television andyou're blitzed out of your mind. Tell

(06:31):
you what, man, I thinkit was one hundred and four or in
my life. I'm glad. Iwas gonna I was gonna text you guys,
but I was like, I justI don't want to jinx any one
for so obviously Stadium Swim, thehighlight is it's a it's a sports book
essentially with a pool like they've combinedthe pool experience with betting. Now,

(06:54):
I will say, and then Ididn't that brings you food and and big
ass about and tons. Yeah, and uh and well I'm not gonna mention
the other part. Uh, Drakecould talk to you, to talk to
you about the other part, youcan say, Uh, I will say,
for a for a spot, that'skind of like for betting the three

(07:15):
when they have three kiosks. Yeah, they definitely need to expand. They
gotta, they gotta make that better. We didn't even go on a on
a super busy day. I mean, it's not football season, it's not
March madness. It was the duedervery day. I think most of most
of the seats and stuff were soldout. So sure, and I will
say, well, it's on anNFL day or on a college football weekend,

(07:38):
it's probably insane. And there's noway that three kiosks, and and
they're slow. It's slow, likeit takes a little bit to figure them
out. They're like super user friendly. Especially they need to they need to
triple the kiosks. I was sayingthat you need to put a kiosk in
every cabana one hundred percent. Imean, I know with the amount of

(07:59):
stuff I mean in Vegas, I'mit is. It is odd how different
money works in Vegas. Like thosecasinos, those properties just have unlimited funds
and it's apparent why you just walkthrough the casino at any point in time
and you just see people donating moneyjust constantly. As I was a part
of By the way, down fourhundred on the weekend, h could be

(08:20):
a lot worse three hundred down threehundred on the weekend. Like I like,
when you're there, you're like,I'm willing to give you my money.
Just make it easy for me todo so. I don't want to
stand in the line for fifteen minutesto give you my money. If it's
right there, they would have gottena lot more of my money, way
more. Wait. Not only that, but if there's no way. Those
kiosk are expensive, or at leastexpensive to them, And if you threw

(08:43):
one of those, they're not thatyou know, they could they could put
them in the in the rooms. If you threw one of those, can
you imagine how many bets we wouldhave made ten times ten times as many
and they would just make they could. You could then also sell the cabanas
for more and people would buy it, like you upped it two hundred and
fifty five hundred extra dollars for whatyou're already paying because you get a personal

(09:05):
kiosk. You could too. Imean, you're you're charging more for something
you're gonna make even more money on. Yeah, it's a win win boo
boom boom boom does does CIRCA Circaneeds to hire me? Maybe, I
dude, I made that assessment withinfive minutes of being there. It's like,
absolutely not in kiosks in the cabana. It was the biggest question of

(09:30):
the day other than wich horse topick. I will say when the horses
ran, They got those suckers inthe gates. It got real live at
stadium swim. Oh yeah, people, you've seen that video of the guy
in the casino acting like he's thejockey with with the with the horsebook.
Every dude in that place was doingthat. It was you what when your

(09:52):
horse is? He was? Hewas. He's a closer. He wasn't
a front runner. He was acloser. And when he's closing down the
yeah stretched and he's come You're like, oh my god, he's going to
get it. Come on, comeon to come on too. It was
the two horse Sierra Leone and uhphoto finish, Oh it was. And

(10:13):
it was a photo finish. I'lltell you what sold me on horse racing,
betting horse racing. So there wasa there's a day randomly, I
don't know three or it was beforeCOVID, so five years ago. Let's
say that my wife and her momand sister were going to go shopping in
Altuna horse Track that you've been tokeV for my bath part your bachelor party.

(10:35):
Yeah, my father in law,Mike and I were like, Okay,
we're not going to go shopping,We're gonna go watch the horses we
walk in and we didn't have alot of time. They were like finishing
up. So we got like threeraces in. I hit the what is
it when you go when when youguess win play show exactly? That's a

(10:56):
trifecta. I hit a tri tworaces in a row. Kevin blanked on
three. That's uh. I meanthose have potential to be a massive payout.
Well, you would have hit atriffecta on the Derby because the winter
was like eighteen to one odds. You would have had a massive payout.

(11:16):
I forget what the actual pay I'mthe races that I was betting on did
not have twenty horses. They hadlike seven, so odds were way low
compared to you know, the longodds of the of the Derby. But
man, I walked out of thereup like I think like five hundred bucks
or something like that. And aftertwo races and I thought that I was

(11:39):
a god. I thought like,oh this is easy. You get that
that beginner's luck, and you're like, I'm I'm now a horse race better.
That's what I do for a living. My career is I bet horses.
I go to the track every day, all right, So a one
dour trifecta would have paid out onehundred dollars for the Derby. Oh my

(12:03):
god, that's incredible. So ifyou just put a ten dollars bet on
it, that's a hell of aweekend and we would have spent it all.
Oh, anything you win, youleave there, no matter how it
happens. Uh, just a weekendfull of delicious food too, front to
back. I mean, the worstmeal we had was probably that first night

(12:24):
when we met up with you guysat the Yeah, I told you,
man, just go in and out. But but it was a good meal
still, Like I got like abowlonaise and it was delicious. It did
look good. Mona megubbi fire, isn't it? French toast, whipped butter,

(12:45):
people, candy, bacon, uh, crapes like the crepes. Oh,
the crepes were unbelievable. The thethe uh what were they? The
banana there's a banana foster one andthere's a mixed berry lemon butter. The
banana foster crapes were out of thisworld. It's just yeah, that's that.
Shit's addicting. Man. I couldthe whole one by myself, and

(13:07):
I'll say The sleeper of the weekendwas our final breakfast Sunday morning at that
boot Bouchon. Yeah, dude, the yeah, the jam, the jam
and butter on that bread they broughtus was unbelievable. Yeah. The uh.
The waitress said that people always askif like they can buy it,

(13:28):
like if they jarred it all Iwould I would have bought it. I
would have taken some home my luggage. Incredible weekend, Drake. His only
response for this podcast was, youguys can talk about how I'm suicidal now
because of depression after we come downoff of that weekend. So obviously some
some big, big highs over theweekend seeing the boys. Uh. I'm

(13:50):
just glad this didn't disappoint. Wouldhave been nice to get somebody went in
at the tables, but I thinkeveryone got smoked. Pretty much everybody got
smoked. Jose was up at point. Did both finish up? I don't
know. We'll have to We'll haveto check in on that. All I
know is bo is a creature. He is a He is a we.
We we designated him. We determinedthat he is a creative player as a

(14:13):
human. This weekend, he washe wore a cowboy hat and shades that
flipped up and down the pit.Vipers vipers, uh for one hundred percent
of the time we were there. It was unbelievable. So fantastic weekend as
we hype that up, excited tocelebrate Kevin. And then we could do
it again at the wedding in amonth and a half or so, two

(14:37):
months, so looking forward to it. We won't see the spear there,
but you know, well, thesphere will not be yet the well,
yep, well it could be theSphere might come back from Vegas and be
at the wedding. Who knows,It's maybe for the rehearsal dinner. Maybe
I could see it happening at therehearsal dinner. That's an inside joke of
the weekend. Won't go any further, Grant, I have a question for

(15:01):
you to start the podcast on somerelevant information. Okay, how sad are
you after rumors swirling that General Bootyhad been contacted by the Iowa Hawkeyes,
how sad are you that it's likelyhe will not be transferring to Iowa?
After the news today just hours agothat we've signed a quarterback, Brendan Sullivan,

(15:26):
formerly a Northwestern Wildcat, is nowin Iowa, Hawkeye. Are you
sad that we won't be able tomake booty called jokes on Saturdays? Yeah?
No, I definitely. You know, I was right now. A
lot of material I was getting readyfor, you know, a lot of
tweet, a lot of drafts, ready for Twitter when the eventual general booty
commitment was coming. But no,I think Brendan Sulvan's great too. Like

(15:50):
I saw enough videos of him justrunning escape in the pocket. He looks
fast, I've got a great arm. So yeah, I mean I'm all
on Brendan Sulvan anyway. So andI hey, what what do we just
double up and we get the bootyanyway, the booty and sull of it.
Yeah, just hey, just gotwell, hey for a guy,
Brad, and see see what thepocket's looking. I'm I'm sure Brad was

(16:11):
part of this. Now, Ias a casual someone who doesn't know ball,
doesn't love ball, but runs apodcast on ball, correct, I
saw this on Twitter and I thoughtthe only thing that made me think,
oh, I'm pretty sure this guyis a transfer and not like a recruit
that committed in the twenty twenty sixthclass or I don't even know what would

(16:33):
be the next class we need aquarterback in was he was fully tatted down
his left arm. I believe maybeit was flipped in the picture, and
I was like, I don't thinkthat's a high school kid that has that
kind of ink. And then Isaw it a few more people sort of
giving their opinions on it, andI learned that he's a He's not just
a transfer. He's I mean,he's a guy that's got a little bit
of experience and he's three years incollege. I pulled up his twenty four

(16:57):
to seven sports profile. He gotan offer from Northwestern in the spring of
twenty twenty, basically a month afterCOVID hit the world. He committed three
days later and then signed later thatfall, later that winter in December of
twenty twenty, and then enrolled atsemester. So must have graduated high school

(17:18):
early. Enrolled in January of twentytwenty one to the Wildcats. So we
know he's a smart guy, probablydecent in the classroom, right yeah,
I mean he's attending the Harvard ofthe West now right in Iowa. So
dominant in the Big tenant softball bythe way, the Northwestern Wildcats so he
was there for three ish years andthrew his name in the portal on April

(17:45):
twenty third, and here we are. He's in Iowahawkeye. Now his ESPN
profile here, let's pulp his stats. It looks like last season he got
a decent amount of time seven hundredand fifteen yards for six touchdown, two
picks, QBR forty four point four. We could, we could, we
could do better on that. Wecould. We'd like to up that.

(18:07):
But yeah, I mean, Imean the kid Actually in twenty two and
twenty three he had pretty equal uh, playing time ninety six attempts versus ninety
nine attempts. His completion percentage waseleven percent better in twenty two through for
less yards though he's thrown for tentouchdowns, took a lot less sacks.

(18:33):
It looks like he was better intwenty two. Uh, but he's gonna
be He's gonna be great in twentyfour and twenty five. He's a guy
with he's a guy with experience. He said he can run. He looked
like he was moving. If yousaw that highlight video, which is not
short, it is a long highlightvideo. Might I add a lot of
moving a lot. It's not nota lot of getting out of the pocket.
He had some run against Howard Universitywhere it was like it was like

(18:57):
picket esque where he's like making guysout and stuff. Well, it wasn't
like a uh you know, it'snot like a Tyreek Hill kind of juke.
It's like a quarterback kind of jukewourd. It's like one well in
big like gallop. And so fromwhat I gather here, uh is if
we just follow the tea leaves,Deacon Hill's gone, and we know he
wasn't very mobile, yes, uhand not the most mobile guy. He

(19:19):
could build your house and he'd bethe foundation probably what probably wasn't going to
be the guy, you know, the messenger running back and forth between people.
McNamara is. I don't think ifhe was fully healthy he would be
scared to be mobile. I thinkhis mobility is certainly cut down now that
he's had two knee surgeries. He'snot gonna want to like mentally, that's

(19:42):
probably gonna be a little bit ofa block for him capable though, if
he needs to be, I thinkyeah, and after McNamara, we'k he's
posted views and making like diving catch. You see that diving that diving attempt
in the softball game, I waslike, oh, you mobile, he's
good, something that Kevin would beexperience. Uh. They started that out

(20:04):
of season competition softball game after weleft. They decided they're going to start
having fun after we left. Theydecided to have all the fun after we
left. And also they decided toup the up the gear game as well,
which is sad, and paid playersand you know, all the good
things happened everything except for except forwalk ons getting food everyone getting fud.

(20:26):
That that was and I'll take thatover everything else that was. Yeah,
if we would have been like itwould have been tough to be like the
guy, we probably got more fooddollar value value than we would have made
an nil. Right, but nowthey're getting both. Yeah, well beggars

(20:49):
can't be choosers, right. Iheard there's possibility of a lawsuit for past
NCAA athletes about missing about the foodand then I'm missing out on an yeh,
well, jesus, I mean, how whenes that go back all the
way to Nile Kinnick not receiving noidea everyone's going to get like a dollar
sixteen. I've literally said everything thatI know, So I don't know who

(21:12):
gets, who qualifies or what I'msigned up. I will join the fight
reparations for former athletes that were notallowed. Nil. I think where I
was going there was we're kind ofmoving to dual threat guys. The Resar
kid from Florida ran like a tento six hundred the fast, that's feast.

(21:38):
This kid evidently is a dual threatand can use his legs. And
that's on Grant's word, not mine. I mean he like is hey,
you know, did he look likeLamar Jackson? No? But who does
he was? He was moving aroundlike he was using his legs. I'm
pretty sure we got a kid inthe twenty five class that is also a

(22:00):
dual threat out of Ohio, andwe don't we only have before this kid
committed, I'm pretty sure we onlyhad two scholarship quarterbacks on the team.
Yes, and it was lyone As, who I think can move too,
and Max Damara. So hey,all the talk about KF and his his
po you know, pocket passers, his pro style quarterbacks no more. Well

(22:22):
these guys still these guys can stillsling. Oh passing ability is still there.
But we've got wildcat guys. Nowwe're shifting, we're shifting all the
way. Well, who's who's theI mean ten point zero like that,
past ten years, who's the fastestquarterback? I was had Cja Belor Yeah,
so past ten years, twenty fourteento now, the one that started

(22:45):
would be CJ. It's not evena question. Yeah, yeah, arguably.
I mean, if you're going totalk about guys, Boyle would be
that be the quarterback that was fastest. But he never played. It certainly
wasn't Weiger. Is that it wasn't. It wasn't Nate. It wasn't It
wasn't Petris, it wasn't. Uhpretty quick though with Nate's a quick way

(23:08):
to get a five yards. It'sa quick five yards. The teams didn't
know what hit him. Uh,we're moving away, Kirk Hurt. All
the criticism about how we don't getquarterbacks like Brad Banks anymore and if we
could just have a CJ guy whocould get us out of trouble, well
guess what we've We've completely restocked. There are all guys who can run.

(23:32):
Now, so it is what itis. I mean, it makes sense,
right, you don't have to runthem like a running quarterback or dual
threat quarterback. But just to havethat in your back pocket and you need
it, you have to be ableto do it. Like how many first
downs did CJ pick up just becausehe had? You? Remember that?
You remember that run at Iowa State? Oh yeah, of course unbelievable.

(23:53):
You're right, keV. You haveto have that ability if you're a quarterback
nowadays. So this, you know, McNamara's got one year and then what
what was that face? Grant?Am I wrong? No? I dropped
some. It scared me. OhMcNamara's got a year left. He's gonna
play in twenty twenty four, twentyfive, and in that season, this

(24:15):
upcoming season, and then it's LINEZor this guy right, like open competition,
and I suppose you throw the Resarkid in there too, who I
think will start this summer. Probablyit's a three way comp and every guy
is mobile. Like it's twenty twentyfive is going to be a new look,
not only with year two of thetim Lester offense, but a quarterback

(24:38):
who is quite literally a dual threat. So interesting stuff going on. Bostick,
who threw his name in the transferportal, also announced today that he's committed
to his new team. Not thatthat's relevant for us, but he's a
former Hawky. He gave it alot to the to the Hawks black and
Gold. He'll be taking his talentsto college station. It's gonna be an

(25:02):
Aggie Texas A and M. Whichis a great find for a kid because
most of I was transfers don't landat big time schools. Just it's just
most don't transfer up. No,and maybe that's a I don't know,
maybe that's a not good for theprogram. But uh, this guy,

(25:23):
I mean, that's that's a bigtime college football school. Regardless of what
their record has been. Uh,you know, ten years ago, Johnny
Manzel was lighting the world on fire. They're they're still relevant. Yeah.
I mean they've just been in afootball program with all the potential in the
world. Just run like a dumpsterfire. Yeah. Yeah, So good

(25:45):
for that kid. I hope hedoes well. Uh, probably getting a
lot of money. Probably getting alot of money. Oh at A and
M Oh yeah. Do you guyslike the Young Leaders? How do you
guys feel about the Young Leaders?Nope, don't. I don't. I
don't. I can't say I likethem very much either. Don't know who
would. It's the cringiest thing I'veever seen. It's it's a little culty,

(26:07):
it's it's definitely it's strange, cringey. There's there's some tough videos out
there. The dude. They keeprunning them out there, though. Ah.
Kate Martin, drafted eighteenth in thispast WNBA draft, a long shot

(26:29):
to make the two time defending WNBAchampion Las Vegas Aces, but she has
made it through cut after cut,I think four cuts now. They started
with like eighteen players or something likethat. They cut two, they cut
two, they cut one, theycut one. Kate Martin is still on
the team. Man Time Moore cutswe got They're down to twelve and that's

(26:53):
how many a roster carries in theWNBA. So this was yesterday roster update.
The Las Vegas general manager Naty Williamsannounced that the team has waved forward
Angel Jackson and this update, thisfinal cut brought the team roster down too.
Let me uh bring up the nextscreen, down to twelve, a

(27:18):
roster that features not only Kate Martinhere rookie six foot out of AU,
but just aboveer number seventeen, MeganGustafson also on the Aces also makes the
cut. Now this isn't official. They're still in the preseason. Moves can
be made. They could drop somebodyfor somebody else that gets picked up,

(27:40):
or drop from another team. Butthere's twelve. They don't have to cut
any more people. So it islooking good for Kate Martin and she kind
of beat the odds here, becauseif you're not the first pick of a
team and this the first pick, wash de yege or I don't know,
I'm not sure how you say this. Name Diasha Fair out of Syracuse,

(28:04):
who's like third all time leading scorer, just kind of quietly behind Caitlin.
This past year she elevated into likethird all time. Maybe she was their
first pick at sixteen and then theypicked Kate at eighteen and they they're both
currently on the twelve woman roster ofthe defending champions. I tweeted it out,

(28:26):
I'm not a Jersey guy publicly,not a Jersey guy, but a
Kate Martin Las Vegas Aces Jersey wouldbe kind of dope. And somebody suggested
it on the on the on Twitter, like, hey, maybe maybe three
should get one for the podcast.Maybe we should get jerseys jerseys for the

(28:48):
pod. Maybe we should we shouldgo to a game and then go back
to stadium, swim and order thesscast again. I don't know Kevin's looking
for ways to get back to Vegas. We were just we should have,
you know, really excuses, man, There's there's no more Bachelor of Parties
left. No Drake actually gets married, not gonna happen, So any excuses

(29:08):
now, We honestly probably h operationalmiss on our part, the fact that
Gussen and Kate Martin both are outliving in Vegas right now and we didn't
try to snag an interview there. We had I had plenty of time on
Sunday, could have could have donethat. Uh No, that's that's that
was not an operational that. You'reprobably right. We had other things too,

(29:30):
But I would like I reached outto Megan a lot back then and
no response. I haven't reached outto Kate, but maybe I should.
I feel like, maybe should doit. Other w NBA updates because this
is, you know, it's it'srelevant though. For the first time ever
the w NBA. This is bytheir commission. Kathy Engelbert announced the league's

(29:53):
plans to start the charter flight programthis season. The program will cost the
league around twenty five million dollars peryear for the next two seasons. And
this is the funny part. We'lllaunch quote as soon as we can get
planes in places, as soon aswe can get planes in places. So
what, they've just been flying commercialthis whole time? I think? So,

(30:15):
dude, how ass is that not? Because, like I mean,
small, small teams for like collegedo the same, and it's not like
it's a super profitable league, Sothat doesn't really surprise me. Great,
Can you search quick what the revenueof the WNBAS like to charter a whole

(30:38):
plane for what? You got twelveon the roster you probably got to the
whole organization? Is what no morethan forty five people? Probably? Oh
god, it's got to be maybethirty maybe thirty five people with trainers,
doctors, coaches. Yeah, theytwelve person roster. There's probably five coaches,

(31:03):
maybe six. I'd say you're lookingat two hundred million dollars. Is
the WNBA generated estimated two hundred millionrevenue? Oh, they're gonna spend ten
percent of their revenue on flights.Hey man, that's not great for the
business. Great, not great forthe business. Yeah, I know it's

(31:26):
it's not, but it just seemslike if you're gonna be a professional league,
you should probably not have to waiton like you know, Southwest delays
to get to your game. Youknow. I feel like also too,
if you have Kalen Now in theleague, like it'd be like, like
you can't have Lebron flying on Southwestnow if you're in the end, No,
like you can. I fully expectthat two hundred number to grow substantially

(31:48):
in the next ten years. Still, it's gonna be interesting to see this
upcoming season what the revenue is,Like, what's the Caitlin bump? Is
it a twenty percent bump? Didthey bring in two forty three hundred The
Fever sellout season tickets yet? Ohyeah? Oh gone. Yeah. Not
only that, but everybody they're playingis upgrading to bigger stadiums for when the

(32:09):
Fever come to play them and they'reselling out. That's that's actually insane,
It's insane. While we were inVegas, she played her first game,
I think it was the first daywe were there. She dropped like twenty
one, had sixteen and a half, four threes games, seemingly translating you
know so damn some qu there weresome questions about that, not on this

(32:35):
podcast. Not on this podcast.Let's see what else do I have on
job us get good job? Yeah, class up for us. We love
that. Other relevant Hawkeye stuff. This this happened like right before we left
for Vegas too, I think lastweek, about a week and a half

(32:58):
ago when you're listening to this,But do you see that the athletes affected
by the gambling stuff are now ina lawsuit? They found a suit.
I did see that, you know, all to suit back against the uh.
I'm not even sure exactly who it'sagainst, but there were some pretty
I took time while you guys weregolfing to kind of read through a couple
of the highlighted like quotes and stuffthat came out of that lawsuit. Pretty

(33:22):
shitty stuff coming out of that Departmentof Investigation or whatever on Like they got
their emails before they did it,and it was basically like, hey,
this could be a good look onour department, Like, yeah, one
of them was quoted like there couldbe some athletes that have to face suspension

(33:45):
or or you know, being bannedfrom the game or whatever, but it'll
be worth it. In the likefor us in the long run or something
like. It was disgusting, dude, it was not good. Yeah,
and guess who gets to pay theuh pay the bill on that lawsuit.

(34:06):
I would like to have been caughtfor gambling at this point because I think
they're gonna get paid. They areget paid something, and yeah, the
state taxpayers is the one who's payingfor it. Yeah, we're yeah,
you and I are gonna we're gonnapay them. Yeah. So that was
actually that was the real uh gamblewas the place in a bad two years
ago. There just wait, allright, this is gonna long term,

(34:28):
long term play. It's gonna catchbig later. All right, what if
you know what if it was likeyeah, I understand that, I understand,
but like I feel like if playersdo get caught, maybe I'll have
to lose a year eligibility. Butthe way this thing is going, they're
allowing n I l Every freaking majorsports league is now spot majorly like has

(34:49):
a title sponsor, as a asa you know, a book. Like
there's just no way they're gonna youknow, we're gonna get some cash out
of this. We're gonna get someWe're gonna be able to come back on
this if that's the long plays.None of them actually thought that, but
it would be incredible if someone waslike, yeah, I'm seeing this far
out. That's five d chests rightthere. That's that's a long play.

(35:14):
God, little little did they knowtheir fifteen dollars bet on Ciena versus Marist
turned into a massive, massive winfirst game of the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
It's like, this is going toturn into two million dollars. You
just watch, all right, don'tworry. All right, I know it's
this payout fourteen to fifty, butyou I realized I laid ten dollars down.

(35:40):
There's a high ROI on this rightnow. Let's see as far as
what the boys are doing right now, we can kind of finish up with
that. Well, grant you're you'repart of it as well. You're a
student at the University of Wible.I am for other classes a longer for
this is the last week, finalsweek. This is right now. I

(36:00):
have graduation on Saturday. Wow,so it's almost over. I'm looking at
the I got the regalia literally overhere, so to my to my left
right now, graduating with chords. You have chords around your neck. No,
I don't have chords. I neitherdid any chords. Are you?
Are you? Are you packing upthe house yet slowly moving? Packing things

(36:21):
up a little bit. I'm gonnaleave some stuff here so I can,
like, if I need to bein Iowa City for anything, I can
use it because I'm paying rent here. Still, yeah, eat it no
matter what. But uh yeah, like we're moving a little bit of stuff
out, yes, but not everything. There was a comment from one of
one of our our loyal listeners longtime. A lot of people know we're

(36:43):
in the in the Hawkeye space onTwitter, Lisa, she plays I believe
like the violin, Yeah does some? Does some really cool? I think
she does like in Heaven there isno beer in the Iowa Fight song with
her violin. She's elite. Shecommented on our YouTube. We had all
this talk about you graduating and theyou know, the friendship moving on,
never seeing your friends again. Lastepisode. She commented on the YouTube,

(37:07):
like, why wasn't there a conversationof you know, the first thing you
guys doing after graduation is like offeringGrant a real job. And I responded,
I felt so bad, but Iresponded to her, I was like
Lisa, I'll be real honest ifI could do it, if we had
the finances and I could show youthe books, Grant, do you want

(37:28):
to work for some minimum wage?Would you like to work for basically,
do you want to be a sweatshopworker, Grant? Or do you want
to take money from the kids. Those are your two options. Either stealing
from charity ay, And I'll behonest, if we even if we stole
from the kids, you would bemaking a poverty level salary, I mean

(37:52):
less than still, like the financialbacking is just not there, which is
unful. Fortunately, I would loveto be able to sit here and like
brag we do say we do numbers, and we do good numbies listener wise
here. But this is by nomeans an operation that would allow me,
Kevin Drake and Grant, or evenat this point me and Grant to make

(38:15):
legitimates like working salaries out of thisthing. I also don't know if we
hired you, Grant, what youwould do for forty hours a week or
even thirty hours a week. Icould figure it out. I can I
get figure it out. The federalpowerty level for twenty twenty four for an
individual is fifteen thousand and sixty dollars. Okay, So if we didn't donate

(38:36):
to the kids, we could payGrant just above poverty, which is not
how you want to start out asyou graduate and move into the real world.
Probably, but yeah, any studentowns together with that put a real
debt in it. We'd love to. It would be the first I would

(38:57):
have done it. I would havehad the offer on the table for Grant
next Monday as he graduated, firstthing, if we had the funding.
We don't, so still up inthe air. We don't know what Grant's
going to do. We know howlong he's going to be around. Love
to keep as long as we can. But you'll be hearing from my agent,
surely. Don't. We'll talk toyour people. My people will talk
to your once your amateur status hasbeen uh uh has passed. Yeah,

(39:22):
you're gonna be a professional though,Yeah, I uh, I don't have
a lot more you guys, Youguys got anything great? We have an
update on the on the NBA playoffs. What's going on? Well, I
was gonna say there's now playoff LucaGarza there is. I saw him make
a decent little post move the othernight they were playing a team I don't
know if I don't think there's anyway actually of looking up what the results

(39:45):
of that game was, unfortunately, which seems that's just a shamp that no
one actually knows what the score was. It sounds like maybe that team is
the You had to be in thereif you have no idea what. Yeah,
it's unfortunate. I don't I thinkall the footage of that game was
destroyed on site in a horrible, horrible accident. So there's a fire.

(40:05):
Yeah, there's big fire in thestadium. So that's in the film room.
Yeah, So the Timberwolves beat theNuggets. What's the series is two?
Nothing Timberwolves? Currently? Can wesee what is the live future for
the Nuggets to win the championship?Probably in the fourth quarter of the game,

(40:25):
I saw like people were tweeting boutand discussing. They're like, hey,
like this game is not going well. You can get the Nuggets at
ten to one right now to winthe whole thing. And it's like,
for a lot of people, ifyou told them that in January February ten
to one, a lot of peoplemade bets on the first round. They're
probably what three to one, fourto one after the first round win.

(40:45):
It was yeah, something like that. Yeah, I mean the Celtics are
probably gonna be the favorites until they'reeliminated or win. The thing. Is
there good money there is that tendto one. Hey, I mean,
I'm going to be a Nuggets trutheruntil I can't be anymore. And hey,
you know what, if you rememberthe bubble, they were down three
to one twice in a row.And you know what, I don't won

(41:07):
both won both of those series. It's okay, it was a it was
a Mickey Mouse championship. Yeah. All I know is that Lebron won that
year and it was Mickey Mouse. And it doesn't count Mouse. That's what
I've been told by Twitter. Yeah, unless it does not count. Okay
that is. But it's okay,Hey we're down two. We still got
it. We got playoff. Lucothough, despite the game, I was
happy to see Luca Gars out there. Yeah. Happy. So I thought

(41:28):
he was potentially gonna start with becauseRito Gobert was not playing. You had
a child? How good is thatguy? On Minnesota? Anthony Edwards in
generational Talent, He's an unbeliever, freak of nature. Yeah, he's so
athletic. Yeah, I mean he'sgoing to force me to smash about eight
TVs during the series, but whichI do not appreciate. But and this

(41:52):
is what stinks to about sometimes insports, is like all of the NBA
season, like Anthony Edwards is amazing, he's incredible, right, yeah,
but it is so much less funto watch him when he's doing the incredible
things to your team, right,and it's like it's it's a strange experience.
I think that's why that's the waypeople have a lot of angst towards
the greats is because the greats playso many playoff games, like games that

(42:17):
matter. Like if you go andlook at how many playoff games Tom Brady's
in. I think there's some crazystat that Tom's been in more playoff games
than like a lot of people have, like a large percentage of the NFL
has played games total. Yeah, and at some point that means he's probably
gonna play your team or you know, once or twice, And so everybody

(42:38):
gets pissed at this guy for beingso good at some point, which is
why you develop a lot of haters. But it is what it is.
Well, speaking of which did youguys watch the Tom Brady roast at all?
Oh my god, I've watched alot of roasts, like going back
to when we were in middle schoolwhen they started happening great, and the
Tom Brady roast was chef's kiss gooddude like that. That'll be my recommendation

(43:04):
at the end of this podcast aswe close it out here, if you
don't have if you don't have Netflix, the Tom Brady Roast, what Tony
Hinchcliff and Nicki Glazier and uh,Tony's was so good, and soways Nicky's
too, like Tony's was just unbelievable. Unbelievable. I mean wow, I

(43:28):
uh even like Drew Bloodsoe sneakily hadsome hilarious that he was even there,
by the way, that actually isfunny as fuck. Yeah, what's it's
great that they invited him. Ithought, well, I think Nicky,
I'll spoil one joke because it's notthe best one. But it was like
Drew bloods everybody and she told onejoke and he goes, all right,
Drew, I'm gonna move on fromyou, just like your team did when

(43:51):
you got hurt. I was like, oh, that's tough. I think
Drew did okay, though I thinkhe collected a decent amount of money in
the NFL. Yeah, okay.Do you think they invited Eli Manning at
all and he just declined it?Or he said on Twitter that he didn't
want to roast Tom Brady for athird time? That was pretty good.

(44:12):
I bet they did. I betthey did invite him, and he probably
just had some prior commitment. Howsick as him going up there would be
so well, actually that's relevant outtoo. We can finish just that.
So the Omaha Productions, right, that's that's the Manning brothers. Right.
They did like a four part seriesthat I think is coming out this weekend
on IOWA USC and u c lA this past season. And it's like

(44:37):
a it's like a little four partdocu series. Are we getting hard knocks
Iowa? Kind of? I think? So check check that out. Let
me let me uh so they're gonnaI've about this what oh Maha production.
I will say, you're gonna they'regonna be sneaky some some features of you
guys, like the media talking aboutthe team. Do you think we'll get

(44:59):
it to we don't tweet enough aboutit. Yeah, look at this a
different glimpse for fans what to expectfrom Caitlin Clark ESPN plus DOCU series.
Oh it's good Iowa women's basketball team. Yeah, but they followed I think
two other teams. You're talking aboutfootball. Yeah, I thought you were
talking about football. No, Iowawomen's basketball this past season. Oh well,

(45:21):
that was a legendary Indianapolis quarterback whofounded a production company, Omaha Production,
specializes in inside looks at athletes lives. Omaha Productions collaborated with NFL firms
to produce Quarterback Followed Kirk Cousins,Patrick Homes, Marcus Mariota, YadA,
YadA. He wanted to do thesame thing with women's college basketball, which
was on the rise to be themost popular it has ever been. So
he pitched the idea to Clark atIowa, Camilla Cardoso at South Carolina,

(45:45):
and Keiki Rice at UCLA to seeif they wanted to participate in a documentary
following them throughout the twenty three totwenty four season, and all of them
said yes. So it's going tobe just like Quarterback following those guys,
but it follows Cardoso and Clark andKiki Rice so sick Quarterback was fantastic.
I loved it. I wish itwas more than four episodes. I wish

(46:06):
it was ten episodes. Dude, behind the scenes of Caitlin in her last
year at Iowa would be like afull, like long drawn like that would
be so sick. I hope there'sa lot of it here. I'm so
surprised if they would be able toput that all into an hour. Oh,
I mean, hopefully it's four hours, four parts. Well, then
you gotta just check out. Ibelieve the Iowa fleg Department has its own

(46:27):
docuseries on really basketball team this year. I think maybe I watched that.
But all right, that's all wegot. I'm not going to force this
past forty six by the way, again, going to one episode a week
for the summer here. I'm stillgonna try and get guests on. Already.
Had somebody tell me that this isthis is just one more move that

(46:49):

only care about the Patreon people andwhat else, and that the consistency that

(47:12):

we were once a week for liketwo like a year and a half or
two years at one point. Yeah. Uh so you're right. We just
