the stadium. You guys ready forShaboozi. We're gonna do a little Q
and A that is gonna do acouple of songs, So make some noise
for Shaboozy. Man. Thanks forour kicking it with us and taking some

(00:48):
time to hang out. iHeart CountryHouse Party. First. CMA fes Yeah
oh yeah, talking about taking stuffoff, Well, crazy man, how's
how's the first CMA fest going. That's been pretty great. I mean I
heard we shut down a couple ofstreets on Broadway, so that was crazy
to see, no doubt, man, Obviously I congrats and everything with a

(01:11):
bar song is taken off? Whatdid you kind of know though, like
it was taken off and kind oftake us through the process of when you
first recorded it too, you know, when you put it out. You
know, for like a couple ofmonths, like a couple of weeks before
I made the song, I wasthinking about like a two thousands hip hop
song. I wanted to flip intointo an Americana song, and that one
just kid. You know. Wewere just in the studio finishing up,

(01:33):
finishing up the album, and uhjust you know, I was like,
Yo, what song should we do? And then that one came on and
we were like, yeah, thisis the song. So we just recorded
it and my managers heard the songthe next morning. They We're like,
yeah, this this is this iscrazy. This is the one you just
put out the album to talk aboutthe album that came out last week.
Obviously you have a bunch of coolcollapse on that too. Yeah, the

(01:55):
album is. You know, we'vebeen working on it for like a year
and a half. I was ableto get some of my you know,
favorite artists on there. Noah Cyrus, who's like I'm a huge fan of
and Big Exa Plug who I'm alsoa h fan of. Paul Cotin,
who I was able to see livelike a couple of years back. To
be able to give someone like him, you know, I think he's like
an underground kind of like there's alot of underground X on the album,

(02:15):
which is what I'm you know,is what I'm about. I love the
underground. I love this stuff that'sunder the scene. And speaking of albums,
how did the whole Beyonce think comeabout? You have what two songs
on the Beyonce album? Yeah?Yeah, how did that all come about?
That's obviously a superhistoric hell man,I mean I couldn't tell you man,
I don't even know how something likethat happens. I mean, that's

(02:36):
a that's like a dream within itself. You know, I'm like, I'm
waiting to just wake up from allof this. Honestly. You know,
who who would you love to havedo like a remix to Country out or
Country I mean it's a it's acrazy question now because I've had you know,
I've asked. I've asked a coupleof people, you know what I
mean. It's like I've talked toeverybody I want to get on the song

(02:58):
I've talked to. Maybe the timingdoesn't workout or but you know, I
can't really say say too much. That ruined the surprise. You know.
I'm sure it's gonna happen. ButI'm sure a lot of artists have also
been hitting you up too after youknow it came out and stuff. Yeah,
man, I saw. I forgotwho the interview was with, but
you were talking about the song backthat Acid by Juvenile impact on your life
story. Oh yeah, that wascrazy. I mean just being on,

(03:21):
just being on hearing, you know, being watching TV music videos and listening
to the radio. I just heardthat song and I was like, man,
it's the beat. You're not evento beat the fiddle or the violin.
I think it was a violent ora fiddle. It's like it just
shows you the power of of aviolin or a fiddle instrument, you know
what I mean? What, uh, what's coming up the next couple of
months for you? Uh? Tour. Definitely go on tour. I'm gonna

(03:45):
go on tour. I want tosee everybody there. You know, it's
gonna be really fun. I mean, man, that song is is you
know, I played the song atthe bar song in Charlotte and there's thousands
of people, you know, Imean thousands of people going crazy and yeah,
North Carolina come on to raise up. Yeah, but yeah, tour,
all that stuff, deluxe, youknow, more collaborations if you could,

(04:10):
uh, if you could, uh, Let's say you're stranded on island,
right, you have one playlist youcan listen to. What are like
the top you only with five songs, We're like the top five song probably
Hank Williams Junior family tradition. Uhjuvenile bet that Kwan Tim said I got
is that it all? Has hehit you up? By the way,

(04:31):
or have you got Yeah? Hehit me He hit me up when he
heard the demo like a day afterI made this, like two three days
after I made the song. Ithink that's probably when I knew maybe this
was gonna do something with j Kwan. Hits me up because you got to
get the clear you got to getthe song cleared. You know, you
interpolated it. So I think oneof my publishers or somebody sent it to
his publisher and he DMed me directly. It was like, Yo, you

(04:54):
got one. I was like, all right, So that doesn't happen too
often, definitely. Now, areyou guys ready for Shaboozi to do a
couple of songs? Yeah? Allright, Well I'm hop out of the
way. Give it up for Shaboozyhere. It's such a good interview.
Man, it's such a good dudetoo. Later that afternoon, special guests
Riley Green crash the stage. Myname is Wayne d With iHeart country and

(05:15):
local. Hey, where's my Nashvillelocals at? So you know? Dang
well, you can hear us weekdayafternoons on the Big ninety A. Right,
So I'm talking about We appreciate y'alllistening. It means a lot.
And if you are not from Nashville, thanks for coming to hang out with
Nashville's number one country station. Welove y'all for the support. Now,
one real quick thing before I saythe thing that you're really excited for.

(05:38):
Okay, so the second thing isimportant to you, The first thing is
important to me. So take careof me and then I'll take care of
y'all. Don't read into that.Don't read into that. Uh hey,
sc scan the QR code because weare giving away tickets to see Riley tonight
at a special show over at thesand Amphitheater. So sket I appreciate that.

(06:00):
So scan the QR coach. Wecan get you set for that show
because we're gonna drop for it asRiley leaves the stage. Okay, so
now let's do the part that youcare about. But do me a favor.
He's done a couple of shows throughoutCMA Fest already, but I promised
him a minute ago this would bethe loudest and he's like and he goes
like this, I don't know aboutthat, man, So do me a

(06:21):
favorite. Nashville and visitors get loudfor Riley Green. I don't want to

(06:46):
take it, honeste ally sad too. How y'all doing? They're rowdy?
Man? All right, with alldue respects, shut up. We got
to talk because he wants to singfor y'all too. So let me ask.

(07:09):
First of all, there are alot of guys and a lot of
girls here. But there's a rumorthat I thought the ladies, you were
more excited for this show today.Hey, and to be fair, we've
we flipped a coin upstairs to seewho was gonna do the interview shirtless.
I lost. I'm just kidding,I d I don't know. These guys

(07:31):
are pretty excited right here. Sobefore we let Riley before, man,
I want to touch base CMA FestFor a fan, they're mapping out as
soon as their favorite artist announces,or as soon as they plan their trip
or they plan their drive into Nashville. How early are you planning CMA Fest?
Are your team planning it? Oh? I don't plan anything? Is

(07:54):
they put me in the car andI show up and follow the noise?
And man, this is lads justmaking a lot of noise earlier or so.
So when it comes to CMA Fest, how many years is this deep
for you? I signed a dealin twenty eighteen, so I guess I've
I've been coming here since then.Is this the busiest CMA Fest you've had

(08:16):
yet? By far? Yeah? It's it's crazy. So tonight you have
a special show that you're a partof over at the sand Amphitheater. Outside
of something like that, because that'sTracy Lawrence's Show and Friends tonight. What
are moments that you get to bea fan or maybe interact with other artists
that you normally don't get to Well, a lot of people probably don't know,

(08:37):
you know. I mean, wedon't get to hang out with our
buddies that do country music because we'reall on the road together. So it's
nice to be able to all bein the same town for a week,
you know, and we're passing eachother and getting to have a drink every
once in a while. So it'sa cool deal to be a part of
it. Then you get to getto be a fan and play for a
lot of fans. I got tosay, you have written and put out

(08:58):
so many amazing songs over the years, but I want to touch on one
that probably connected one of your biggestones, that connected early for you.
Anybody have a grandpa that is liketheir number one guy? When you take
a connection with somebody in your life, right and the story is about them

(09:18):
not being with you anymore, howtough is that? Not only to tell
the story, but how important isit that that he gets to live on
through that song forever. Now,Well, that's the biggest thing for me.
Is that both of my grendaddies arepart of the song that's become a
really huge song. Me thanks somuch to y'all and however for making that
song what it is. But it'sit's it is a song always. Grandpa

(09:39):
has never died and it's going tobe around forever. When when it comes
to the writing and recording, wejust got some new music not long ago.
But how far you look? Howfar are you looking ahead? And
we're always writing and uh you know, constantly playing new songs. It shows
to see what stands out and whatfans seem to like. So we'll definitely

(10:03):
be putting some more music out thisyear. When it comes to the music
we've already heard now, believe itor not, y'all might love every single
song he's ever put out, butI guarantee there's one that you're like,
I'm glad y'all like it. Butif I didn't have to sing it again,
that'd be awesome. Is there oneof those? I mean, I
haven't got tired of anything yet.I mean, when you go play a

(10:24):
song and a show and fans singit back to you, sometimes scream it
back to you, you never gettired of that song. So so we
know some of y'all are from Nashville. But on the count of three,
yell out your city one, twothree, I heard Alabama somewhere. Yeah.

(10:46):
And to whoever yelled Alabama a littleTennessee education, that's a state,
not a city. Uh. Asyou're putting together a tour, I heard
Ohio again, a state. Whenyou're put together a tour, what are
some cities that you're like, hey, y'all, like, let's make sure
we hit bam bam bam, welleverywhere all of the you know, SEC

(11:09):
schools in the Southeast. To loveto go play at the colleges and especially
during football season, Uh, Tuscaloosa, Auburn. Uh. I always like
to go up to the Midwest wherewhere the weather's nice in the summertime.
We have big outdoor festivals. Everybodyshows up because it's not snowing. Uh.
And we did four weeks on theWest coast and that was a lot
of fun. So yeah, Heyto my friends in Minnesota booking Riley in

(11:33):
January, he's busy, uh huntingthe season, man, I can't.
Hey. Collaborations are red red hotin country music. You just had a
massive one with Luke Combs. Doyou have pressure? Do you have y'all
like that song? Obviously? Uh? Do you have pressure to connect with
somebody? Are you like? Heyman, when it's when it's right,
it'll be right. Uh. Well, it was a good opportunity because I

(11:54):
was out with Luke doing stadiums lastyear on tour. But it's uh,
it's really just buddies that kind ofdig each other's music. And I just
texted Luke said you want to bea part of this song and worked out
really well for me. He did, I'll tell you one name, and
she actually just opened a spot aroundthe corner. I think a Riley Green
and Landy Wilson's track would be unreal. I'm not forecasting the future. He

(12:18):
did not tell me to say that. I don't even know if they even
know each other, but I'm puttingit out into the universe. Who would
love that song? Before you hearit? Now, I'm gonna challenge you
because obviously this is a great partof being Riley Green, But what are
some of the hardest parts day inand day out for you? Well,

(12:39):
I always say this is a reallycool way to make a living, so
I can't complain too much. Idid construction work for the majority of my
life and now I'm playing country songsfor a living. But I definitely I
definitely missing being at home. Youknow. It's a kind of grueling being
on the road a couple hundred daysof a year. So it's nice to
have something like this in town andmy family's able to come up. My
folks are over here, so hey, hey, one time for Riley Green's

(13:01):
family that's hanging out with us.So CMA Fest raps Sunday night Nissan Stadium.
Everybody heads out of town or goesback to work on Monday. Boo,
listen, it's fine, you gotHow are you gonna pay for CMA
Fest next year if you don't goback to work? Uh? What are

(13:22):
you looking forward to the rest ofthe year. We're gonna be playing fairs
and festivals all over the country anduh, like I said, it's gonna
be put out some new music. So just excited about going to some cities
I haven't been in and playing biggervenues and doing this a lot more.
What about downtime, You're a guywho works. I want to sleep.
That's yeah, I'm gonna sleep untilhunting season. September. First, I'll

(13:43):
get back up and chase them arounda little bit. There we go.
What's so you're a big hunting guy, you shared on Instagram. What's your
what's your favorite hunts? What's beenyour favorite hunting story? Uh, I'm
I get excited at whatever season itis. But definitely some great duck hunts
where I'm able to take buddies andfamily and go sit in the blind and
cut up and cook breakfast. Andsome of the best hunts I've had we

(14:07):
didn't kill much. There are questionsthat artists get asked all the time,
like, oh, who's the bestgolfer when you go out with other artists?
Or who's the messiest that you hangout with? I want to know,
if you've hunted with another country artist, who's the worst? What an
awful question? H don't don't don'trecord this and don't take whoever it is.

(14:30):
I haven't taken anybody that you knowthat wasn't good. I would say
that there might be some people thataren't as quiet as others. You know,
Hey, Luke Brian likes to talk. I don't know if he could
be real quiet, but but he'syou know, he's a big hunter too,
so, but you're not above beinglike, hey, shut up,
hey, shut up. Yeah, what's your favorite thing to hunt? Whatever

(14:52):
season it is, season no matter, season, no matter. Hey,
So here's the deal. I've hadfun chatting. Oh my god, yeah,
put those in. Let's get theband up here. Rate of Rock
before before before we perform. Whatsongs do y'all want to hear? Okay,

(15:15):
okay, he's like all of them. Hey, he's even got merched.
I thought he was just yelling tobe obnoxious. My man's God and
the hat. Oh yeah that is. I'm happy for him. All right,
y'all, Rate of Rock. I'mgonna shove my mouth and let this
man rock this place. It's timeto be louder than you've been since you
got to town, Nashville. Giveit up for Riley Green. I held

(15:37):
country house party taken over downtown Nashvilleonce again. That's day three, Day
four even more guests lined up.Make sure you click subscribe so you don't
