While Dreamworks Animation are known for their big franchises such as Shrek, Kung-Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon, they also have notable standalone works amidst their output. One of their strongest is 2010’s Megamind, a witty take on cyclical comic-book rivalries that was sadly overshadowed by that year’s other supervillain-focused animation, Despicable Me. In the age of superhero movies dominating the conversation, a sequel to the Will Ferrell led animation is ripe for commentary. Somewhere, a finger on a monkey’s paw curled as the world is inflicted with Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate.
Taking place mere days after the original film, Megamind (Keith Ferguson) is adjusting to...

"Become a villain again!" Sometimes you just gotta get back to your villain roots. Universal has revealed the third trailer for Illumination Entertainment's next sequel Despicable Me 3, hitting theaters at the end of June. The story brings back the lovable villain Gru (and his minions) for another misadventure, this time involving his long lost twin brother Dru (who is also voiced by Steve Carell) who tries to get him back into the villain business. The voice cast includes Kristen Wiig returning as Lucy Wilde, along with Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Michael Beattie, Dana Gaier, plus also "South Park's" Trey Parker as the stuck-in-the-80s supervillain Balthazar Bratt. This trailer really sells the complete story and packs in tons of finished footage from this sequel, which looks pretty much just like the other two films before it. Have fun. Here's the third official trailer (+ poster) for Illumination's Despicable Me 3,...

"I can't wait to meet my brother!" Universal has debuted a second trailer for Illumination Entertainment's next sequel to Despicable Me, titled just Despicable Me 3. The story brings back the lovable villain Gru (and his minions) for another misadventure, this time involving his long lost twin brother Dru (who is also voiced by Steve Carell). Dru wasn't revealed in the first trailer, but he finally is introduced in this one. The full voice cast includes Kristen Wiig returning as Lucy Wilde, along with Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Michael Beattie, Dana Gaier, plus also "South Park's" Trey Parker as the stuck-in-the-80s supervillain Balthazar Bratt. This doesn't look any better than it did in the first trailer, but have fun anyway. Here's the second official trailer (+ poster) for Illumination's Despicable Me 3, direct from YouTube: You can still watch the first official trailer for Despicable Me 3 here, to see even more from this.

"Dance fight!" Universal has released the first full theatrical trailer for Illumination Entertainment's next sequel to Despicable Me, titled just Despicable Me 3 for now. The story brings back Gru (and his minions) for another misadventure, this time involving his long lost twin brother Dru (who is also voiced by Steve Carell) not seen in this trailer. The full voice cast includes Kristen Wiig back at his side as Lucy Wilde, along with Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Michael Beattie, Dana Gaier and "South Park's" Trey Parker as the new stuck-in-the-80s villain Balthazar Bratt. Nabbing Parker for a voice is the only thing that interests me about this. They show quite a bit of footage in the trailer, and it looks as amusing as expected. Here's the first official trailer for Illumination's Despicable Me 3, direct from YouTube: The team who brought you Despicable Me and the biggest animated...

Cyber ninjas! Cyber samurai! Octo-ladies! Konami passed along a heaping helping of character and casting information for February's "Metal Gear Rising Revengeance" while somehow finding a way to obscure much of the plot for the game. But, like any post-"Solid" title in the "Metal Gear" franchise, it'll come down to one lone soldier against a bunch of augmented super killers.
