On August 10th, at this year’s D23 Expo, Disney revealed and gave updates on multiple projects that are currently in the works, from the theme parks to streaming and even their feature films.
One of those projects is the Live-Action Remake of the 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. The first teaser trailer gave us a small glimpse into what the film will look like when it is released in March 2025 ,” .
However, despite Disney’s push to get audiences excited, the long list of controversies surrounding its main star and its production have soured like a bad apple.

Alex Proyas, of the 1994 classic The Crow (watch it Here), was never happy with the idea that Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders was going to be telling a new version of the story of The Crow with his recently released reboot – and Proyas never kept his feelings about the project to himself, taking every opportunity to mock and bash it on social media. The Crow reboot made its way out into the world last weekend and is proving to be both a critical failure and a box office bomb, which is just giving Proyas more opportunities to have fun at the movie’s expense on social media.
In the build-up to the reboot’s release, Proyas shared a screen shot of The Guardian’s review, which called the film “unfathomably awful.” Later, he commented, “Wow. The reviews are brutal.” And when the box office numbers came in,...

Disney has made a mint over the past 20 years by remaking its classic animated films as live-action movies. While the reboots are often savaged by critics, the box-office success of Will Smith’s Aladdin, Emma Watson’s Beauty and the Beast and Jon Favreau’s Lion King guarantees the practice will continue for years to come. That’s not just speculation either — live-action versions of Moana, Lilo and Stitch and a Lion King sequel will all hit theaters by next year.
Live-action remakes of nostalgic childhood favorites are money in the bank, but despite the recent (relative) failures of Onward, Seeing Red and Luca, don’t expect Pixar to jump on that Disney bandwagon. Pete Docter, Pixar’s chief creative officer, told Time not to expect live-action adaptations of Ratatouille or any other Pixar gem, even if fans clamor for it. “This might bite me in the butt for saying it,...

As the film Descendants: The Rise of Red begins, a royal decree is issued, stipulating that Auradon Prep, the elite boarding school for Walt Disney’s classic characters, would welcome a new class of Vk’s — villains’ kids, or the offspring of Disney’s most nefarious antiheroes. Admission letters were sent off with the flourish of a wand and the Descendants franchise began a new journey.
The coming-of-age Descendants films have been tentpoles of the Disney Channel since 2015, when the first Descendants won over children and tweens. The two sequels, Descendants 2: It’s Going Down (2017) and Descendants 3 (2019), did equally well, each becoming the most watched TV movie among ages 6-14 when it premiered. The July release of Rise of Red, the franchise’s fourth installment, has kept the streak going, drawing 6.7 million views in the first three days after its debut on Disney+, making history as the most viewed...

Who doesn’t adore Clint Eastwood? With a career spanning over six decades, the actor, 94, has galloped into our hearts and screens, even earning multiple Oscars. Oh, and let’s not forget he even took a spin as the Mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, in the late ‘80s—just another feather in his cap.

In the new horror-comedy film “Y2K,” directed by Kyle Mooney in his feature film debut, high school students find themselves confronting a peculiar threat at a notorious New Year’s Eve party. As the clock ticks down to the year 2000, electronics like Tamagotchis and cell phones suddenly turn against the partygoers. Rachel Zegler and Jaeden Martell lead an ensemble cast playing two juniors who must battle rogue devices to survive the night.
The film centers on Zegler and Martell’s characters crashing a wild end-of-the-millennium bash. However, the party takes a dangerous turn when everyday electronics like toys and phones start malfunctioning in disturbing ways. “A Tamagotchi just drilled through a chick’s head!” one character remarks in the trailer, hinting at the mayhem that ensues. The students find themselves facing down a technological onslaught with no explanation for the devices’ newfound aggressiveness.

As everyone knows, Disney has been having a great time turning its cherished animated classics into live-action pictures. And while some of these—like Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, and The Lion King—turned out to be enormous hits, others were regarded as flops that no one—not even Disney—wants to talk about. In spite of the opinions of the fans, the company is continuing with its live-action remakes of the same storylines that we have already seen.
One of the more controversial adaptations is the one that is planned and stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White. It has received criticism for a number of things, such as the casting of the lead actress, the CGI issues, and how the Dwarves are portrayed in the film. Others, as usual, took issue with the movie being accused of being woke.

Disney has been having a ton of fun adapting its beloved animated films into live-action films, as everyone is well aware. And while some of these, like The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King, ended up being huge hits, others were deemed failures that nobody, not even Disney, wants to discuss. Simultaneously, the corporation is moving forward with its live-action remakes of the same stories that we have previously seen, regardless of what the fans think.
The planned Snow White film, starring Rachel Zegler, is one of the more contentious versions. It has drawn criticism for a lot of things, including the main star’s casting, the spectacular effects, and the movie’s depiction of the Dwarves. As usual, there were also others who criticized the film for being purportedly woke.

Lionsgate will be bringing a new version of The Crow to theatres on August 23rd – and while we had previously been referring to this project as a remake, Lionsgate recently let it be known that this is not to be called a remake, but rather a new adaptation of the source material, the comic book series created by James O’Barr. With the release date just a week away, a clip has dropped online to give us a preview of another brutal action sequence, this one taking place in an opera house. You can check it out in the embed above.
Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) directed this version of The Crow, working from a screenplay by Oscar nominee Zach Baylin (King Richard). The film is produced by Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks, and Edward R. Pressman. Dan Farah serves as executive producer. Here’s the synopsis: Soulmates...

Disney released the first teaser trailer for its live-action Snow White film at a recent event, but fan response has been mixed. Starring Rachel Zegler as Snow White, the movie now has a planned 2025 release after facing delays. While some praised Zegler’s singing from the trailer, other aspects prompted debates over modern interpretations of the classic story.
The depiction of the seven dwarves drew particular commentary. Aiming to avoid potential stereotyping as mentioned by actor Peter Dinklage, Disney used computer-generated images instead of casting short actors. However, many felt the CGI characters looked unrealistic. Additionally, digital animals and landscapes dominated the trailer over live elements, causing questions about the film’s visual direction.
Fans also observed key differences in Snow White’s appearance. Zegler’s wig lacked the volume and style of the animated character, drawing comparisons to other on-screen hairstyles.
Further, Snow White’s signature red headband was missing.

Rachel Zegler's Snow White Remake Continues to Face Controversy Following Recent Trailer - Main Image
Of every single Disney live-action film that came to life, Rachel Zegler's Snow White may have faced the most controversies ahead of its theatrical release. From racist comments to its terrible costume design, the live-action adaptation's reception is not looking all that good.
Disney's Snow White Remake Trailer Failed Fan Expectations (Again)
Committing an animated flick to a live-action adaptation is bad enough, but the Snow White remake trailer roped mixed fan reactions to the edge.
Not only are fans disturbed by the CGI actors cast as dwarves, but the production value and design overall didn't scream 'dreamy Disney' as much as its past Disney princesses' live remakes.
While Disney has yet to address why they chose to use CGI over actual actors for the role of hardworking dwarves, it may have something to...

The live-action remake of the Disney classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarves has been continuously beaten down by critics ahead of the film’s 2025 release, resulting in much controversy.

In the Disney pantheon, it doesn’t get much more classic than Snow White. The original 1937 Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs was the film that started it all – the debut feature from the studio, that more-or-less invented the animated film as we know it, and began a legacy that’s still going nearly 100 years later. So, it’s a big deal that Disney is presenting a new take on the fairytale as a live-action adaptation next year – the long-awaited Snow White, with Rachel Zegler playing the original Disney princess, and Gal Gadot vamping it up as the Evil Queen. As revealed at the D23 Expo, here’s the first official trailer:
This version comes from Marc Webb, the director of 500 Days Of Summer and the Amazing Spider-Man movies – and while the focus in this trailer is largely on recreating images and moments from the ’37 original (that spooky tree...

"Magic mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of all...?" Obviously you, Gal Gadot! Disney has revealed a first look trailer for the live-action re-imagining of the classic animated movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. At D23, Disney revealed the teaser trailer for Snow White, directed by Marc Webb, now set to open early 2025. "Disney invites you to return to the story that started it all..." The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. Featuring all-new original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Starring Rachel Zegler & Gal Gadot, who portray Snow White & the Evil Queen, respectively. With Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Dujonna Gift as Maple, and Martin Klebba as Grumpy. Well this doesn't look interesting at all, so cheesy and glossy, doesn't even seem like a live-action movie. What do you think?...

Disney pulled out all the stops at D23 yesterday evening and among the many sneak peeks which premiered before fans in Anaheim was a first look at the studio's controversial Snow White remake.
Stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, who portray Snow White and the Evil Queen, respectively, were also on hand to give fans to share new details about the production and a first look at the "Whistle While You Work" scene. We catch a glimpse of that and more (via Toonado.com) in an officially released teaser trailer which might just surprise you.
Why? Well, it's almost a shot-for-shot remake of the cartoon, and that's not something anyone expected given what we've heard about Snow White up until now. Previous reports have pointed to it being a drastic reimagining of the original tale, with the title character given a more proactive role in a story which swaps out...

Disney unveiled the first teaser trailer for its upcoming live-action Snow White movie at a recent fan event. Slated for a March 2025 release, the film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
The teaser offers a glimpse of the reimagined fairy tale world. Zegler wears a dress resembling Snow White’s animated counterpart. Gadot takes on the role of the iconic Disney villain with “menacing charm.” Zegler previously showed her singing talents in other major films and is expected to perform classic numbers like “Whistle While You Work.”
Marc Webb directs the film, with a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson. They aim to bring a fresh perspective while honoring beloved elements. Some changes have sparked debate, like the apparent use of visual effects for the dwarves. This challenge of updating classics for today’s audience sparked some criticism in early reactions.

Rachel Zegler’s upcoming Snow White film is facing a harsh reception online, despite the standout performance of Gal Gadot as the wicked queen. The trailer, which was meant to dazzle and charm, has instead ignited a wave of criticism. Gadot’s brilliantly sinister portrayal has been overshadowed by a less-than-stellar response to the film’s overall presentation.

“Whistle while you work!”
In a somewhat surprising turn of events, given the drama and controversy surrounding the movie, the first trailer for Disney’s Snow White has dropped, and it actually looks like a live-action version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Now, it could be that Disney marketing is hiding any major plot changes to the beloved Walt Disney classic behind a thick veil of nostalgia, but… the trailer “does what it says on the tin.” It presents a live-action version of Disney’s first animated feature film.

Disney unveiled the first teaser trailer for the Snow White live-action remake at D23 on Friday evening. Watch it below.
Snow White stars Rachel Zegler as the eponymous character alongside CGI versions of the seven dwarfs: Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. Gal Gadot plays the Evil Queen.
The production of the musical reimagining has been met with several controversies, ranging from the overblown backlash to the casting of a Latina actress as Snow White to Peter Dinklage criticizing Disney for “still making that fucking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together.”
In response to Dinklage, Disney explained they were “taking a different approach with these seven characters.” A first-look image released in October 2023 confirmed that they took an animated route.

After years of whistling while she worked making a new movie, Snow White is finally nearing her return to the big screen. Disney unveiled the first trailer for Snow White at D23 Friday, ahead of its March 21, 2025 release date.
The film was set to open in March of this year, but Disney pushed it back a year in light of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Underscoring its long journey to the screen, stars Rachel Zegler (Snow White) and the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot) were at D23 two years ago showing off the first footage from the movie.

Someday her prince will come, but in the meantime, the first trailer for Disney’s live-action “Snow White” finally has come, revealing Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot in all their glory.
Debuting at this year’s D23 Expo on Friday night, the footage gives a glimpse into how Disney has updated its 1937 animation for new audiences. You can watch it in the video below.
Marc Webb, the filmmaker behind “(500) Days of Summer” and “The Amazing Spider-Man,” directed the film from a screenplay by Erin Cressida Wilson and Greta Gerwig.
The cast also includes Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman and Andrew Burnap as Jonathan. The film is produced by Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer, and features all-new original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Last year, Zegler drew criticism for poking fun at the original storyline, calling the circumstances of the central love story “weird.

Disney on Friday at D23 showed off the first clip from its live-action take of the 1937 animated classic Snow White, which hits theaters on March 21, 2025.
Said Gal Gadot about her onscreen antagonist, “She’s evil, she’s magical, she’s delicious.”
Rachel Zegler introduced the clip, which she told the crowd at the Honda Center was a classic. Indeed, it was her and the dwarves as she sang “Whistle While You Work.” Snow White is in the dwarves’ house, dancing and cleaning with a crystal falsetto.
They then showed off the trailer, with images of Gadot putting on the crown, doing the mirror mirorr, Zegler picking apples, and the transformation of Gadot into an evil witch. It’s a prefect, lively replication of the original movie.

There’s an old rule in TV that when a show becomes a hit, you’re going to see copycats. So when Lost exploded onto TV screens as a monster success in 2004, it’s no shock that networks were quick to copy it. Sadly, too many of these would-be clones couldn’t come close to Lost’s success, failing to make their mythology or storytelling compelling enough for viewers and the majority didn’t last one season.
Yet there are a number of shows that can appeal to Lost fans. Most are pretty blatant in the setup of folks traveling and somehow trapped in a strange place. Others utilize some great mythology and are backed by a terrific cast to work well. With Lost on Netflix again, it’s time to enjoy the best of shows inspired by it, and these 15 shows definitely appeal to anyone who loves Lost’s unique storytelling style.

Lionsgate will be bringing a new version of The Crow to theatres on August 23rd – and while we had previously been referring to this project as a remake, Lionsgate recently let it be known that this is not to be called a remake, but rather a new adaptation of the source material, the comic book series created by James O’Barr. With the release date right around the corner, a clip from the film has arrived online to give us a preview of a brutal action scene, and that can be viewed in the embed above. A new poster has also been unveiled and can be seen at the bottom of this article.
Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) directed this version of The Crow, working from a screenplay by Oscar nominee Zach Baylin (King Richard). The film is produced by Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks, and Edward R. Pressman.

Christina Sandera, the companion of Clint Eastwood for the past decade, has died, the actor-director announced. She was 61.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” he said in a statement released Thursday night.
A Warner Bros. spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that no further information would be forthcoming. A representative from the Monterey County Health Department later told the New York Post that she died that day of a heart attack.
The couple were very quiet about their relationship.
They reportedly met when she was working as a hostess at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, and started dating in 2014.
A longtime Carmel resident, she accompanied the onetime Carmel mayor to the 2015 Academy Awards when American Sniper was up for six Oscars including best picture and on the red carpet for Sully (2016), The Mule (2018), The 15:17 to Paris (2018) and Richard Jewell (2019).

Charlize Theron is easily one of the most effortless beauties with magnificent talent in the film industry, having scored so many fan-favorite roles and outdone pretty much all of them. But while she has done everything from rom-coms to action-thrillers to fantasy-adventures to comedy-dramas, fans are still yet to have one wish fulfilled: Seeing her play the female Thor.

While Natalie Portman already played this character as Jane Foster in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, years before that, a fan laid this prospect ahead of Theron. And, while she wasn’t too sure about playing the character back then as she must be now, Theron still ended up winning fans’ hearts with her unceremoniously flirty response to the fan who expressed this wish to her.
