Among the sixty screen acting roles Regina Hall has racked up over the last couple decades are appearances in four of the five films in the Scary Movie horror spoof franchise. Now The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Hall is returning to horror comedy territory, signing on to star in writer/director Jim Strouse’s Breitenbush.
Hall will be taking on the role of aspiring district attorney Kate, who, after her husband vanishes on a camping trip during which everyone ingests a powerful hallucinogen and summons an angry prehistoric creature, must return to the site of the ill-fated trip with her friends to face the forces that led to his disappearance.

Kevin O’Neal, the younger brother of Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O’Neal and a regular on the 1960s ABC comedy No Time for Sergeants, has died. He was 77.
O’Neal died Saturday in his sleep of natural causes in Thousand Oaks, a family spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.
O’Neal also appeared as the character Yale in one of Elvis Presley’s final films, The Trouble with Girls (1969).
O’Neal portrayed Private Ben Whitledge on No Time for Sergeants, which lasted one season. The 1964-65 comedy was produced by George Burns’ production company and Warner Bros.
Based on a novel by Mac Hyman, No Time for Sergeants premiered on Broadway in 1954 and was adapted a year later for an ABC U.S. Steel Hour production and then for a 1958 feature. All three starred Andy Griffith.

Yale Entertainment has announced the lead cast for its upcoming romantic dramedy “Bucky F*ing Dent,” David Duchovny’s adaptation of his own novel.
Stephanie Beatriz and Logan Marshall-Green star alongside Duchovny, who is also helming and scripting. The pic recently wrapped shooting in New Jersey; no release date has been set. Yale Entertainment’s sales unit, Great Escape, will introduce the film at AFM.
Beatriz is best known as the voice of Mirabel in Disney’s “Encanto” and for the role of Rosa Diaz on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” She will next appear in Peacock’s action-comedy series “Twisted Meta.”
