Everett’s daughter tells the AP Everett had battled lung cancer for more than a year. He was 75. In a career that spanned more than 40 years, Everett is best known for his role as sensitive Dr. Joe Gannon in Medical Center. He appeared in all seven seasons of the show that at the time tied with Marcus Welby, M.D. for longest-running medical drama. The role earned him two Golden Globes and an Emmy nomination. Everett was born in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated from Wayne State University. He eventually moved to Los Angeles and became a contract player with MGM. Deadwood villain Stephen Tobolowsky is set to star in Death Keeps Coming, a new supernatural western from Tarantino Productions and KarlAdam Entertainment, according to Moviehole.net.
