Photo credit: “Shutterstock.AI” During her long career, Madonna has built a long track record of success by constantly reinventing herself and not repeating herself. But, oddly enough, she’ll be recycling one of her early film titles for her biopic: Who’s That Girl. The film, which had been put on hold so that Madonna could mount a world tour, is back in preproduction again, according to an Entertainment Weekly article, with Madonna herself working on script revisions. It makes perfect sense that she would want to have the final say in the screenplay. We’ve spoken to her several times over the years, and one of the things she’s always stressed is that people who think they know her, don’t really know her. Music icon Madonna is no stranger to the film side of entertainment. The singer would crossover into movies on many occasions, including starring in a variety of projects like Body of Evidence, A League of Their Own and Dick Tracy. For a time, she would even be married to director Guy Ritchie, who she made a film with called Swept Away. In the past few years, Madonna had been reportedly developing a biopic about herself in which she would be in the rare position to both write and direct. Early last year, the project would not come together and she scrapped the project just ahead of her world tour.
Deadline is now reporting that the 80s pop icon teased on her Instagram that the project is once again in development. Madonna posted a slideshow that featured a series of pictures of her working on a typewriter and her table is littered with screenplay pages.

Madonna is working on her biopic once again. The 65-year-old Queen of Pop's plans for a movie about her life were placed on hold last year but she's now revealed she is currently writing a new draft script for the project, which will be titled ‘Who’s That Girl’ in a nod to the singer’s 1987 movie and song of the same name.Madonna took to Instagram and posted a collection of photos of herself working on the script with the caption: “I Need A-lot of Bandz to make this ……….. Okay. Julia Garner is still set to play the Queen of Pop, with Madonna herself directing the film of her life. More here.
It’s been a year and a half since we learned that Universal’s planned Madonna had been scrapped. The original plan saw Juno writer Diablo Cody pen a script that would be directed by Madonna herself. Although the music legend has directed in her time, this was still a pretty unconventional arrangement.
One aspect of the production that looked very promising was the appointment of Julia Garner in the lead role. Garner was chosen by Madonna herself, reportedly picked out of a song and dance bootcamp and anointed by the Queen of Pop.
Who’s That Girl was of course the title of the 1987 song (and accompanying film) that helped push Madonna’s fame levels into the stratosphere during that era. It looks like it might also be...

Madonna’s biopic is back in the works, nearly a year and a half after news broke that it wasn’t moving forward.
The film about the singer’s life, which was set to chronicle her decades-long career, was originally set at Universal Pictures, but plans for it fell through in January 2023.
In a new Instagram post, Madonna shared a compilation of photos of her working on a typewriter, with an array of papers around her. In one of the shots, a potential title — Who’s That Girl, a nod to her 1987 song and film of the same name — is seen on the first page of what looks like a script.
Another glimpse at the script reads “rewrites by Madonna and Ecw,” seemingly referring to Secretary writer Erin Cressida Wilson, who was brought onto the project after Diablo Cody had to step away from it. Amy Pascal was set to produce the movie originally.

Madonna is back at work on her biopic, as the iconic singer confirmed on social media.
Madonna shared on Instagram that she is back writing the film’s screenplay, with the feature now titled “Who’s That Girl,” a classic reference in the annals of Madonna lore. “Who’s That Girl” is also the title of James Foley’s 1987 comedy feature (which marked one of Madonna’s first movie roles and co-starred Griffin Dunne), a soundtrack single for the film, and Madonna’s world tour that same year.

Madonna‘s had an impressive array of No. 1 songs, but she’s also had something rarer: an impressive array of No. 2 songs. Some of her defining hits just missed the top spot. Here’s a nostalgic look back at some of the Queen Pop’s best musical (and music video) moments.
1. ‘Material Girl’
Considering “Material Girl”‘s great new wave beat and iconic music video inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, it would have been a hit regardless of its lyrics. The song is a cute satire of Reagan-era values that’s light enough to be taken at face value. Because some listeners did take it at face value, the song has been used to paint Madonna as shallow and greedy.
The track hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. While the charts are never fair, that placement feels like a real insult. After all, what song...

A whopping 12 Madonna songs reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Some of those Madonna songs are all-time classics. On the other hand, one is a lifeless track inspired by William Shakespeare.

Eve is set to play a leading role in the ABC drama pilot “Queens,” Variety has learned.

Who's that girl sitting next to Ryan Gosling? In case you were wondering about the beautiful, blonde woman hanging out with the La La Land star and his famous friends throughout the night at the 2017 Oscars, let us put the mystery to rest. It's his sister, Mandi Gosling! The actor's partner Eva Mendes didn't attend the show, but it was no problem because he decided to make it an evening of family bonding at the Academy Awards, where he was also nominated for Best Actor. Although he didn't pick up the win, Ryan and his sis seemed to have a great time throughout the ceremony, snacking on free goodies, dancing to Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling" and...

Charlotte McKinney skyrocketed to fame after her incredibly hot 2015 Super Bowl commercial aired for Carl's Jr. last year, sending both men and women into a frenzy of asking, "Who's that girl?" Well, fast forward a year later, and everyone knows her name. The blonde bombshell has taken over numerous sexy spreads throughout the past year, and her latest shoot comes just in time to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of her famous, skin-baring, burger-eating ad. And guess what? She's naked. Yup, McKinney is covering GQ Mexico's March 2016 issue, wearing nothing but a red vest with a fan covering her lady bits. Inside the cover things get even spicier! It sounds like the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel has a director. A source tells me James Foley will likely direct Fifty Shades Darker. Another source says he is the frontrunner, but no deal has been signed yet. Deadline was the first to report that Foley would likely be getting the coveted gig. Foley most recently directed 12 episodes of House of Cards. His film credits include At Close Range, Glengarry Glenn Ross, Who's That Girl and Perfect Stranger, among others. He directed several music videos for Madonna, who starred in Who's That Girl. Fifty Shades Darker is E.L. James' 2012 follow-up to Fifty Shades of Grey. 50 Shades hit the big screen in February and stars...

Who's that girl?! Angelina Jolie hasn't always been the A-list movie star, mother of six, and global humanitarian we know today. Twenty years ago — a full 10 years before she became one-half of the pop culture sensation known now as Brangelina — she was just a young model trying to work it in a shiny white alligator skin-esque pantsuit. Never-before-seen pictures of the Maleficent actress surfaced on Friday, June 12, a week after her 40th birthday. The photos were taken in 1995, when a then-20-year-old Jolie [...]...

Who's that girl? It's Jess—not Zooey Deschanel. The pregnant New Girl star recently spoke to the Huffington Post about her character's "adorkable" persona—one that she personally doesn't identify with. "That was our marketing department at Fox and they did a really good job with our first season, but that's a word that describes the character that I play, not me. I don't personally have identification with that word myself." "In addition, I don't really care what people think of me," added the...

Who's that girl? More like where's that opening sequence?! After four seasons, New Girl has replaced its iconic (Yep, we said it!) opening credits, which featured star Zooey Deschanel singing the infamous "Who's that girl? It's Jess!" jingle. Yes, gone is the quirky sequence of the three original roommates, Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris), begrudgingly succumbing to Jess' adorableness. In its place is a much sleeker, less-adorkable (sorry, we had to) version, which finally features Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr. And we've got your exclusive first look at the Fox hit sitcom's new opening sequence, which makes its debut in...

A late viewer to last night's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. might assume that the series had been canceled and replaced by a quirky sitcom. Who's that girl? It's Agent Jemma Simmons, making her triumphant return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the very solid "Making Friends and Influencing People." Director Bobby Roth shoots Simmons's formal reintroduction to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in an unmistakable rom-com style (with a major assist from the upbeat pop song "God Help the Girl"). Like Mary Tyler Moore, Simmons's morning routine includes turning the world on with her smile. Unlike Mary Tyler Moore, Simmons occupies a world controlled by a demented ex-Nazi group bent on world domination. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s first season indicated that Simmons had dedicated her life to fighting that group, which is why we're presumably meant to gasp when she walks into an office bearing the Hydra logo.Of course — as pretty much everybody...

Who's that girl?! Yes, that would be the one and only Halle Berry, who stepped out on Monday in Los Angeles with extra long, Rapunzel-length locks. We know, it took us a minute to recognize her without her signature pixie too. Now, it's not like we've never seen the Oscar winner with a below-the-shoulders hairstyle but it's been a while, like, five years a while. And even back in 2009 her 'do wasn't quite as long as it is right now. It should go without saying that the actress clearly had help from several packs of hair extensions since last time we saw the star (at the Stand Up To Cancer event on Sept. 5) she was still sporting her usually short style. You know her best for her role as Beatress Johnson in American Mary, but Tristan Risk has been a very busy girl lately, and she's about to break big. She sat down with Dread Central to talk about her work, past and future.
Little Miss Risk is a compelling performer, a staunch horror fan and a charismatic interviewee. She talked about her beginnings, her affinity for her beloved character Beatress and the loads of work she's done since. Risk is as witty as she is alluring and we're sure you'll enjoy reading her interview as much as we enjoyed speaking with her.
We started at the very beginning and asked Risky how she got started in the acting business. "I've been a performer all my life," Risk said. "That's everything from doing stage shows, school plays, musicals, things at my grandpa's church. I didn't go to the church, but still performed in the recitals.

A happy 56th birthday to the Queen Herself. I was out for drinks with two friends the other night (Hi, Sue & Jordan!) and somehow the conversation turned to Madonna -- I can't remember how it got there -- and the Best Actress for Evita Golden Globe was discussed. 'Her one shot at an Oscar' ...but then of course she wasn't nominated. (1996 was an overstuffed year in Best Actress of course but even if it hadn't been, The Academy probably would have resisted.) But of course it wasn't her only shot at Oscar. They've snubbed her repeatedly in that Best Original Song category though two songs she sang but didn't write won the actual gold man ("Sooner or Later" from Dick Tracy by Stephen Sondheim and "You Must Love Me" from Evita by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber).

The Rock the Kasbah pair, who could just be friendly co-workers, were flirty when they hung out earlier this month, too.
