(InvestigateTV) — 911 centers across the country are in need of more operators. A lack of qualified staffers could delay people receiving the critical care they need.
The National Emergency Number Association calls it a 911 staffing crisis, and it’s happening all over the US.
While this is not a new issue, the association believes the problem is getting worse.
It reports that 911 centers across the country were typically short-staffed by 30% at the beginning of 2023.
The association says it’s critical that these centers are fully staffed to answer the estimated 240 million 911 calls made each year.
