Expectant Mothers

At Kenya Airways, we are committed to providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for our expectant passengers. Here's how we ensure your well-being during your journey:

Pregnancy and Travel Safety

Safety Precautions: We recommend that pregnant passengers consult their healthcare provider before flying, especially if they have medical conditions or are in the later stages of pregnancy.

Travel Restrictions: To prioritize safety, we adhere to guidelines regarding travel during the third trimester. Please review our policies to understand the specific timeframe for your journey.

Medical Documentation: Depending on your stage of pregnancy, you may be required to provide a medical certificate stating your fitness for air travel. Keep this certificate handy for verification.

Pregnancy Travel Essentials

Doctor's Letter: While a doctor's letter won't act as a clearance certificate, it assists our medical team in assessing your fitness to fly. For U.S. flights, the letter should be dated within 10 days of departure.

Return Journey Limit: Please note that for your safety, return journeys must fall within a 36-week or 32-week limit for single pregnancies and multiple pregnancies, respectively.

Seat Selection: Enjoy extra legroom and comfort by selecting seats with more space. Our seat reservation options allow you to customize your experience.

Hydration and Snacks: Stay hydrated throughout the flight and carry nutritious snacks to maintain your energy level

Traveling Comfortably During Pregnancy

Comfortable Attire: Dress in comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and supportive footwear to ensure a relaxed travel experience.

In-Flight Mobility: We encourage you to move around the cabin and perform simple stretches to promote circulation during the flight.

In-Flight Comfort: Utilize available pillows to support your comfort, and adjust your seat position to find the most relaxing angle.

Carry-On Essentials: Pack your essential items in your carry-on, including medications, personal items, and a change of clothes.

Stress-Free Planning: Allow ample time for airport procedures to prioritize stress-free travel.
