Happy Monday! Low clouds are expanding over the area this morning, which means cloudy skies when you head out. The low clouds will dissipate, but I only expect partly to mostly cloudy skies at noon and then eventually turning mostly sunny after about mid-afternoon. It’ll be a slightly cooler day, from 83° yesterday to about 79° today. Most of the area will top out in the upper-70s and lower-80s, except at the Coast where temps will stay in the upper-60s and lower-70s with clouds for much of the day.
Tomorrow will warm up with mostly clear skies all day. Temps will be in the upper-80s and even lower-90s south of Seattle. However, even though I have Seattle staying at 88°, we could very easily warm to 90°.
With a trough entering the region Wednesday, the latest computer runs suggest a chance of thunderstorms and potentially light rain over the Cascades. However, with precipitation (if any) looking very light, dry lightning is a fire weather concern as it’s the country’s second leading cause of wildfires (behind humans). There could be a few showers or thunderstorms that form over the lowlands as well. We should also watch if any upper-level smoke and haze pushes north with this cloud cover, with more wildfire activity to our south.
On Thursday and through the weekend, we’ll settle into a stable pattern with some low clouds in the morning and then sunshine in the afternoon. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s.
