Arizona crushes Long Beach State to advance in NCAA tournament

SALT LAKE CITY (13 News) - There was no first-round exit for the Arizona Wildcats this time.

Caleb Love posted a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Wildcats routed the Long Beach State 49ers 85-65 in the NCAA tournament on Thursday, March 21.

Kylan Boswell added a game-high 20 points for Arizona, which was upset by No. 15 Princeton in the NCAA tournament last season.

Amari Stroud and Aboubacar Traore led Long Beach State with 14 points each while Traore also had a double-double with 15 rebounds.

Arizona, a No. 2 seed, will face Dayton in the second round on Saturday. Dayton came back from 17 points down to beat Nevada on Thursday.

Tip-off and channel assignment for Saturday’s game have not been decided.
