We're thrilled to announce Ezekiel Iferia and his team's first-place win in the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State design competition! 🏆 Leveraging Altair Inspire for Finite Element Analysis (#FEA) and Topology Optimization, they enhanced the thresher's frame, reduced its weight, and minimized vibrations. We're incredibly proud of Ezekiel, a two-time Altair Global Student Contest Winner, and look forward to fostering more student ambassadors like him worldwide. #AltairEDU #OnlyForward

Thrilled to announce that our team from the University of Benin secured first place in the design competition at the Federal University of Technology, Minna! 🏆 Over the past year, I have been involved in a Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) training funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, which included students from several universities. As part of our training, which is now wrapping up, students from each participating university were challenged to redesign a multi-purpose agricultural thresher using cutting-edge #CAE techniques such as Finite Element Analysis, Topology Optimization, and Multi-Body Dynamics. The fabricator we worked with highlighted key issues with his current thresher design: weight, vibrations during operation, and multi-crop threshing capabilities. Leveraging #Inspire by Altair for Finite Element Analysis (#FEA) and Topology Optimization, we successfully: - Enhanced the stiffness of the thresher frame and minimized vibrations during operation - Reduced the weight of the back plate of the threshing drum by 70% - Made the pulleys 40% lighter Our team at the University of Benin, led by me, came in first place in the design competition after our presentation at the Federal University of Technology Minna which was held on 4th July. A huge thank you to my amazing teammates madu chukwuemeka, Ogheneworo Emmanuel, and Benjamin Chukwueze, and our supportive Professor Patrick Amiolemhen, for the collaborative effort that made this possible. This journey wouldn't have been as enriching without the shared knowledge and teamwork. I also want to thank Adedeji Aremu, PhD for introducing us to CAE and taking the time to teach us over the past year. Proud to lead such a dedicated team at the University of Benin and excited about what the future holds! #CAE #Engineering #Teamwork #Innovation #RoyalAcademyOfEngineering #UniversityOfBenin
