Mayor Andre Dickens felt the luck of the Irish while visiting Dublin! 🇮🇪 🍀
In addition to celebrating a Georgia Institute of Technology win at the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, Mayor Andre Dickens met with government officials, including the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, Claire Cronin, Minister Peter Burke, Minister Darragh O'Brien TD, Minister Neale Richmond TD, Lord Mayor of Dublin James Geoghegan, Councillor Brian McDonagh, and former Consulate General of Ireland, Atlanta Consul General Caoimhe Ní Chonchúir.
While in Dublin, City of Atlanta collaborated with Invest Atlanta, the American Transaction Processors Coalition, Enterprise Ireland, and Technology Association of Georgia, as Mayor Dickens and Invest Atlanta CEO Dr. Eloisa Klementich, CEcD served as panelists at the "Why Atlanta: Fintech & Sportstech Synergy Summit." Highlighting the expanding tech sector in Atlanta, this discussion fostered relationships between Irish businesses and international partners.
Mayor Dickens also had the opportunity to visit a Centra grocery store and receive a personal tour from Cormac Dawson and Raymond Foley, who outlined their model for urban-centered grocery stores. Centra is a leader in the Irish convenience retail market, focusing heavily on health, and offering nutritious and inspiring on-the-go food options.
Thank you to all our partners and hosts in Ireland who provided a warm welcome to City of Atlanta. We are excited to bolster our economic and diplomatic relationship as Atlanta forges relationships with the international community!
