A new bill introduced by Rep. John Curtis is poised to block the Public Lands Rule recently proposed by the federal Bureau of Land Management. If passed, the Public Lands Rule would allow the BLM to make conservation one of the recognized uses of the 245 million acres of federal land. Learn more about the Public Lands Rule and the opposing legislation in this op-ed penned by Peter Metcalf, founder of Black Diamond Equipment, board member of The Conservation Alliance, and current Black Diamond brand and policy ambassador.   As a member of the Conservation Alliance, Black Diamond supports the Public Lands Rule, and we are urging Rep. John Curtis to reconsider their legislation and listen to the majority of Utahns and westerners who support the conservation of America's public lands. 👉 You can take action, too—write to your representatives to share your support for the Public Lands Rule. Check out The Conservation Alliance for more updates and resources.
