On-Machine Verification, A Marriage of High-Quality Standards and Efficiency in Mold Making All part of The Cavalier Experience. Instead of the standard route of removing a tool from a machine and measuring it in a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Measurement and Inspection for a tool happens immediately after the machine has finished its task via a measurement probe. Utilizing an automatic tool changer, the machine will remove the machining tool from the spindle and attach the measurement probe. This probe can measure the tool in real-time which allows us to build quality into our tooling at each step of the manufacturing process. The Cavalier footprint is worldwide.  International Business Development Manager and Cavalier Tool India (CTI) Director Chris Vander Park says they are traveling the world "to ensure we see things as our customers see them on a global scale. “ He says the World Headquarters is in Windsor, Ontario, Canada but Cavalier’s reach is much broader.  Along with sales reps in the US and Mexico, Cavalier has three offices in India - and they are all an integral part of the #CavalierArmy.  Yet another chapter of The Cavalier Experience: as a global business partner open for business on a worldwide scale. “Our staff in India are a complement to what we do here in Canada, since we can operate 24/7 because of the time difference,” says Vander Park. “We talk with them daily via email, calls and virtual meetings but we know how important it is to also provide some face to face time in person.” Along with Vander Park, President Brian Bendig, Manufacturing Manager Larry Caron, Estimating Manager Brian Gignac have visited offices in India and most recently CFO Diane Ricci Woodiwiss, CPA, CA.  “They were very happy that we went to visit them because they feel acknowledged and more part of the family,” says Woodiwiss. A goal of a new piece of equipment: continue to deliver top notch tools every time to our customers. One of Cavalier’s latest investments was the new Okuma Bridge Mill MCR-A5CII, installed at Plant 2. “Cavalier does a lot of things differently and a large part is due to the machines they buy and they buy them for a specific reason” says Tim Caron, Area Sales Manager with EMEC Machine Tools Inc. Cavalier president Brian Bendig says it a part of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒓 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆. “We can now use this 2-D machine to open up capacity on our 3D equipment,” says Bendig. “ It means more capacity on our finishers – and we know more accuracy on our 2D work. With automation on the Okuma, we also can use our operators in other areas that are better for the overall tool production. “ From prepping for installation to installing equipment we appreciate our #CavalierArmy. Standing shoulder to shoulder in industry - from the golf course to the classroom to the boardroom. Our commitment to this industry involves being part of industry organizations like Canadian Tooling and Machining Association CTMA which represents, supports and promotes the interests of the Canadian tooling and precision metalworking industries.Recently we attended their golf tournament and also their Career Ready Event. “There’s strength in numbers,” says Cavalier President Brian Bendig “We like to see work being done on advancing manufacturing and ensuring there are people looking at the big picture. CTMA has rallied the government and discussed tariffs and also do amazing work providing help and funding to get more people interested in our industry.” CTMA has also helped get new machines into various high schools to ensure appropriate training and excitement about working in the machining world. Out with the old and in with the new! "We are always looking to the future when it comes to our equipment," says Cavalier President Brian Bendig. "Even though some pieces are only 10 years old, we prefer to take a proactive approach and make sure we keep ahead of the curve." Cavalier added two new APEC Brand Mills - this brings three to Cavalier, all at 3 metres in length. "It's all about speed which in turn helps us provide better ROI for our customers," says Bendig. "We took advantage of a slower economy and bought some new equipment and got rid of some aging equipment. We need to have the best equipment so it's out with the old and in with the new."
