I am so excited to share that I am an official alumna of the University of South Carolina! On May 4th, 2024, I proudly graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina College of Arts and Sciences, earning a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Neuroscience, specializing in Neurodevelopment and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Alongside, I obtained minors in Media Arts and Psychology, and a Digital Studies Certificate. I'm honored to have achieved Graduation with Leadership Distinction (GLD) in Research, recognizing my involvement in various activities and my dedication to advancing knowledge in my field. Special thanks to the Society of Pre-Health Professionals in Genetics Organization for the opportunity to serve as Vice President and DiscoverUSC for the opportunity to present two of my research projects developed as an undergraduate research assistant at the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Lab. If you are interested, you are welcome to read my GLD ePortfolio which outlines my experiences in Research here: https://lnkd.in/eBSVQ-V8 As the first student to graduate with the title of B.S. with Distinction in Neuroscience, I owe immense gratitude to my mentors, Dr. Jane Roberts and Erin Hunt, for their unwavering support and guidance. My journey at USC wouldn't be complete without acknowledging the USC Student Success Center, where I served as a Supplemental Instruction Leader. This role not only honed my professional skills but also instilled confidence in me. I want to thank Chris Gulino, Katie Morton, Caroline Elliott, and Gabriella Cotner for their encouragement and insights for academic support and higher education. Reflecting on these four years, I'm grateful for the support and wisdom gained from friends, peers, mentors, and family. Your encouragement has fueled my determination to excel in my academic and career pursuits. As I embark on the next chapter of my journey, I carry with me the dedication and enthusiasm nurtured at USC. Once a Gamecock, always a Gamecock! 🤙 #ForeverToThee

Exciting news! I am thrilled to share that I will graduated with Leadership Distinction in Professional and Civic Engagement and a Preston Scholar! Pursuing these pathways allowed me to connect my classroom learning with my professional and leadership experiences and explore how they can benefit my future goals. As a Preston Scholar, I engaged in experiences under each pillar, including knowledge, passion, and community responsibility. Preston Residential College influenced my leadership experience at the University of South Carolina. It allowed me to meet students, faculty, and staff and was a place to practice leadership skills and be around other campus leaders. Additionally, this experience supported my progress to Graduation with Leadership Distinction. To graduate with leadership distinction, I completed at least 60 hours of leadership experience, at least 240 hours of supervised professional experience, three enhancement experiences, six credit hours with a B or better, a public presentation, and an e-portfolio. I am also proud to share that I won First Place in Afternoon Undergraduate: Experiential Learning and Graduation with Leadership Distinction FF at Discover USC! I showcased one of my key insights from my e-portfolio, “Empowering Leaders Through Data-Driven Decision-Making.” This annual event showcases students' research, scholarship, leadership, and creative projects. I am grateful to Megan Colascione, M.Ed., for advising me through the GLD process and to the Preston Residental Staff and Graduate Students who supported me through various steps in undergrad. As I wrap up my last few weeks at the University of South Carolina, I wanted to recap some of the things I've been up to this last month. First, on April 4th, I defended my honors thesis in partial fulfillment of the requirements for Graduation with Honors from the South Carolina Honors College. My senior thesis titled "College Aged Women's Responses to Social Media Influences and the Role of Similarity," examines how want, attainability and connection are impacted as college-aged women feel more or less to an influencer. With my passion for social media, I wanted to look into college-aged women's perceptions of influencers as they grow in popularity, and we see a shift from traditional media idols. Following my thesis defense, I had the opportunity to return to Augusta National Golf Club to work the 2024 Masters Tournament as a Greeter at Berckman's Place. I continued to refine and build on my customer service skills welcoming and serving thousands of patrons daily providing them a world-class experience. Returning to Columbia after the Masters, I presented at Discover USC to receive my Graduation with Leadership Distinction from the Center for Integrative and Experiential Learning. I pursued a pathway in Professional & Civic Engagement, presenting on my time being a social media manager on the film set of The Grand Strand with Local Cinema Studios which was a formative experience in during my collegiate journey. Exposing me to the world of film, I developed a passion for film marketing, and plan to continue to pursue opportunities in the film industry. Finally, I ended my semester long independent study with Jeff Savage, PhD who I've been working with on my social media management company, Cloud 9 Social, that I started last spring. With Dr. Savage's mentorship and guidance, I was able to utilize business frameworks to set a plan in place to pursue my business full-time after graduating. A special thank you goes out to Linyun Yang and Helen van der Sluis for being my thesis director and second reader, Jessica Chavis and Darron Kirkley for preparing us USC students to work the Masters, Jacob T Cone and Taylor Vrscak for another incredible Masters tournament experience, Robyn Cranmer for guiding me through the GLD process, and Jeff Savage, PhD for teaching me everything I know about entrepreneurship; teaching me the skills and lessons I need to know to, and instilling the confidence in me to go out into the real world and be an entrepreneur.
