Texans are worth a state budget that reflects our shared values. For too long, the state legislature has ignored the needs of everyday Texans, leaving us with critical unmet needs. It's time to change that. We’re forming a statewide coalition of Texans who believe our government should work for all of us, and we want to hear from you! You deserve to have a say in how your tax dollars are invested in our roads, schools, health care system, and other public goods and services that benefit us all. Stand with us to demand accountability around the use of our tax dollars and investments in our collective well-being. Sign the pledge to join us! https://lnkd.in/gbEt3JC5

Thanks to Texas AFT for inviting me to talk about the rotten deal #gregabbott and his friends in the Texas Legislature tried to give public school students. Vouchers are both wasteful and harmful to Texas kids. Instead of creating a third, separate and unequal system of public education, state leadership should focus on meeting current and future inflationary costs of educating 5.5 million young Texans.
