Transportation on our Ann Arbor medical campus has been particularly challenging this week due to a combination of road construction, building projects and U-M student move in. We know this has been inconvenient for patients with appointments on the medical campus, and strongly recommend patients with appointments through the rest of this week allow an extra hour for traffic congestion and parking. Thank you for your patience!

August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month when breastmilk is often touted as an important source of nutrition for infants. But there are gaps in understanding how diet influences the nutrients that get passed on to babies. Now, a Michigan Medicine study offers clues to how lipids, or fat, in a breastfeeding individual’s blood may be connected to their baby’s nutrition: michmed.org/bwDY5

Too much screen time isn't just a concern for kids. Daily notifications from mobile devices may also stress parents out, suggests a new Mott Children study. “Parents are often juggling parenting and home life with work and other responsibilities simultaneously. It makes sense that feeling pulled away by phones may bring additional stress," said lead author Tiffany Munzer, M.D., developmental behavioral pediatrician at Mott. More on the findings: michmed.org/PnRbv
