OUTbio Seattle takes on Vancouver! Shout-out to the Zyme&Proud team for a hugely successful first event and for leading the charge to get other Vancouver biotech companies to support the LGBTQ+ community, as well.

Two scenes from July that show what makes OUTbio Seattle tick: The team was proud to roll up our sleeves alongside Brandon Knox and the Lambert House LGBTQ+ Youth Community Center crew to build out their new office in North Capitol Hill. Lambert House is a safe place for LGBTQ+ youth ages 10-22. Their calendar is jam packed with fun activities, dinners, support groups, planning meetings, dances, and other events. It’s where LGBTQ+ youth make life better for each other. Our favorite part? The painting. We’re happy to report that no *sass violet* was spilled or splattered, scout’s honor. We also had a blast hosting our first-ever joint event with the HBA Pacific Region. Thanks to everybody who joined OUTbio Seattle and #HBASeattle at Rough & Tumble to build and strengthen our community over a few brews and a bit of biotech. Last Thursday, we gathered to kick off Pride weekend and celebrate the diversity and strength of Seattle’s LGBTQ+ life science community. Their leadership is building a brighter biotech ecosystem for the LGBTQ+ community of today, and tomorrow. And a very special thank you to David S., COO and Co-Founder at Monod Bio, for his poignant reminder that businesses and board rooms have not always been a place where our community can be their authentic selves, and that we must stand together in elevating LGBTQ+ professionals and creating inclusive spaces where we can all shine.
