Net Promoter Score (NPS) — A flawed and outdated measure, or are we just using it the wrong way? NPS often gets dismissed as too simple or disconnected from real outcomes, but that’s only true if you’re not using it strategically. In reality, NPS can be a useful tool for subscription apps — not just to measure user loyalty, but to predict churn, improve retention, and balance product optimizations. 👇 Here are just a few ways that you can make NPS work for your app: 1️⃣ NPS as a countermetric: While you A/B test for quick wins like higher conversion, NPS helps ensure those optimizations don’t harm your app’s long-term user experience. Keep it in your metrics mix to avoid unintended negative impacts. 2️⃣ Proactively engage with detractors: Users who score your app between 0-6 are at risk of churning. Use NPS data to trigger CRM campaigns, offering support, discounts, or feature tips to turn them around before it’s too late. 3️⃣ Spot churn before it’s too late: NPS serves as an early warning system — declining scores are a signal that user satisfaction is slipping. Address these issues early to prevent churn and keep users on board. NPS is not a box-ticking exercise to be gamed or used in isolation. Used well, it can be a useful additional data-point to help improve user satisfaction and fuel retention. 👉 Ready to learn more? What are the latest trends in Apple Search Ads (ASA)? In the latest episode of the Sub Club podcast, David Barnard sits down with Dilip Reddy to dive into ASA best practices and emerging trends. One surprising shift? Apps have historically focused their ASA efforts on tier-one countries like the US, UK, Germany, and France. But Dilip points out that more apps are now expanding their reach into additional countries. With just a few localizations (like English, Spanish, and Portuguese), you can tap into a wide array of new markets. Think some regions won’t work for your app? Test your assumptions with ASA. A tip for new storefronts? When starting in a new country, Dilip suggests bidding "too stupidly low" to avoid overpaying. Starting high means you won’t know where the baseline is. For more Apple Search Ads strategies — including whether or not you should be running brand defense campaigns — catch the latest episode of the Sub Club podcast. 📖 Read the blog summary: https://lnkd.in/gic5DyUt 📺 Watch on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/g3y72ftM 🎧 Listen wherever you get your podcasts: https://lnkd.in/g6t_tY7V #AppleSearchAds #ASA #SubClubPodcast

🔧 How do you scale an engineering team to support 32,000+ apps? At RevenueCat, our engineering team is the backbone of everything we do, and is faced with the challenge of maintaining reliable and scalable infrastructure that supports over 32,000 apps globally. How do we manage this scale while continuously delivering software that developers love? In our latest blog post, Miguel Carranza Guisado pulls back the curtain on our engineering strategy — sharing what we’ve learned along the way, from tackling tough challenges to refining our approach to engineering at scale. Here’s what we share: 🔹 Mission-driven development: We focus on building software that empowers developers to succeed, with every decision centered on delivering real value. 🔹 Challenges of scale: Balancing the demands of managing a fully remote team across 14 countries, handling 1.2 billion API requests per day, ensuring the integrity of $4B in transactions, and maintaining 10 SDKs. The complexities add up quickly, but with the right strategies, they can be effectively managed. 🔹 Guiding principles: Learn about the practices we rely on, like prioritizing reliability over features, embracing transparency in incident management, and continuously optimizing our processes. 🔹 Practical actions: We’ve put these principles into practice with strategies like rotating reactive teams, hosting regular engineering all-hands, and redefining uptime to set new standards in reliability. If you’re navigating similar challenges or just curious about how we do it, check out our latest blog post: https://lnkd.in/e_zt8AYA #EngineeringLeadership #SoftwareEngineering
