August 1st, 1899, we opened the Westend cable plant, the first building of what would become #Siemensstadt. This site, originally known as "Nonnenwiesen" (Nuns’ Meadow) in the west of Berlin, marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. 🇩🇪 #SiemensHistory From an undeveloped area, Siemensstadt quickly evolved into a bustling industrial hub and urban district. The area was home to over 65,000 people and featured unique architecture and residential units. Today the area is even home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🏙️ As we mark this milestone, we are also looking into the future. We are transforming the historic industrial site into a district of the future. Using #DigitalTwin tech, efficient energy design, and Europe's largest wastewater heat exchanger, we aim for #CarbonNeutral and an energy-efficient neighborhood.🌿

From the archives: things we used to make but don't make anymore. 🤓 In 1972 we produced a unique object featuring the Munich skyline: the #Olympia toaster. It represented our involvement with the famous games in 1972 in a miniature format. For a world-class breakfast! Unfortunately, a baguette doesn't fit into a toaster, but we hope you'll enjoy the games in Paris anyway. 🏅 🥖 #SiemensHistory #history

Blendhub is transforming food production with portable production hubs. 🌱💪 Compact factories delivered in 40-foot containers are deployed in underserved areas. These empower the community to control their food supply. We create a #DigitalTwin before a hub is built to define and optimize the system, reducing the need for physical prototypes. The hubs are equipped with our automation systems and allow for real-time monitoring and remote management, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and safety. 💚 Trusted Traceability ensures that consumers know where their food comes from, providing transparency. By producing powder-based foods locally, Blendhub empower communities to capture more value from their harvests, contributing to a circular economy and fostering long-term economic stability.
