Sweden is famous for more than ABBA and IKEA. It also consistently ranks near the top on global lists of the happiest, healthiest countries. One reason may be its culture of exercise-based team-building events, like the one that 35 of our Swedish colleagues recently experienced. Trimble's Brecht Vercaempst explains: "Last Thursday we participated in the Convini Stafetten in Stockholm. This massive event (over 10,000 participants) combines a great workout with team building in beautiful scenery on the outskirts of Stockholm. A lovely summer afternoon with beautiful weather made the event all the more enjoyable. "Participants can either run in a relay team of five (each runs 5 km) or do the track together walking. Trimble Danderyd had three relay teams running and 20 enthusiasts walking, as well as some much-appreciated supporters along the track cheering us on. "Madness at the mass start (push or get pushed!), existential questions during the race (Why am I doing this? Are we there yet? What is going on here? Where am I? Who am I? What day is it today?), the runner's high once you've found your pace, sheer delight when crossing the finish line and passing the baton over to your teammate who's running next – those are just a few of the stops on this emotional rollercoaster. "One colleague answered, 'Terrible!' with a huge smile on his face when he crossed the finish line and was asked how he was feeling. It sums up perfectly how we all enjoyed this amazing event. "Thank you to the team who took care of our registration and organized this for our staff, and congrats to all who participated!"
