Big news for Nevada's Latino families! 🏠🎉 The White House has answered our call to action on affordable housing in Las Vegas and beyond. Their new initiatives include: ➡️ Repurposing public land to build up to 15,000 new affordable housing units in Nevada. ➡️ Rehabilitating distressed housing in Las Vegas. ➡️ Limiting rent increases to keep housing costs manageable. These steps directly address the concerns we heard from our community during our recent visit to Las Vegas. From first-time buyers to long-time residents, these actions will help make the dream of affordable housing a reality for more Latino families. Together, we're turning Nevada's Latino community into a true housing powerhouse! 💪🏼🏘️ #UnidosUS
Did you know Latino families in Nevada struggle with extremely high housing costs? That’s why we visited Las Vegas to discuss how we can make housing more affordable for the Latino community that calls the state home. From helping first-time Latino buyers with down payments to offering culturally relevant housing advice, we heard from Robert Gordon, with The White House Domestic Policy Council, and public and private sector partners on ways to make housing accessible for Latino families. We know Latinos can be a housing powerhouse in Las Vegas, and we’re committed to working through community partnerships and public policies to make it happen.
