“Jeff taught one of the best courses I have taken at Stanford. His teaching skills are remarkable, as is his knowledge of IP, ability to clearly articulate complex ideas, and attention to detail. I highly recommend his course (ME 208) or his book ("Not So Obvious: An Introduction to Patent Law and Strategy") to anyone who is business savvy, an innovator, or an entrepreneur. I look forward to working with Jeff in the future.”

The third edition added a glossary and general edits. The fourth edition includes five additional cases: KSR (Supreme Court 2007), Stanford v. Roche (Supreme Court 2011), Prometheus (Supreme Court 2012), Nautilus (Supreme Court 2014), and Limelight (Fed. Cir. 2015).
