Modeled 2D hexagonal MoS2 layer with the help of lattice constants, base vectors and interatomic potential
Performed Molecular Dynamic simulations to obtain the trajectories of each atom while applying cyclic loading
Investigating the stress intensity at the crack tip and the life cycle of the material based on varying load criteria
-
Finite Element Analysis of 4D Printing
-
Developed a versatile program in Fortran to create a 3D printed geometry and discretize it into smaller elements
Formulated a finite element algorithm incorporated with the biological growth formulation
Analyzed the stress and displacement distributions using Tecplot under varying printing orientations
Achieved a novel and generalized method to describe the shape changing process in 3D printing
-
Multiscale atomistic modeling of Fracture in Graphene
-
Modeled 2D hexagonal graphene layer with the help of lattice constants, base vectors and Tersoff potential
Utilized the velocity verlet method to perform sequential multiscale modeling to obtain the elastic properties
Utilized central difference method to concurrently solve the critical (MD method) and non-critical (FE method) regions
Proved that crack propagation occurs naturally in MD and doesn’t need any fracture criteria
-
Tensile behavior of damaged Kevlar/Epoxy composites
-
Fabricated the Glass and Kevlar/Epoxy composites using the hand lay-up procedure with standard dimensions
Investigated the tensile behavior of Kevlar/Epoxy and Glass/Epoxy composites with horizontal cracks on 100+ samples subjected to varying displacement rate loading
Calculated and analyzed the energy absorption capacity of the two composites using OriginPro and MATLAB
