Professor and Associate Dean at Copenhagen Business School I focused on ESG and corporate sustainability
Two lead authors of the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report wrote a straightforward article about climate change for kids, which was reviewed by teenagers. Super good article: frank talk and accessible language! (Very short excerpt below.) A lot of other researchers could learn from this... Education is one key factor to tackle the climate crisis, and education does not start at University level or the upskilling of managers. We need to build up climate literacy in schools so that young people can better distinguish science and science fiction (facts and fakes). The article is titled: "We Are Not on Track: Greenhouse Gas Emissions Are Higher Than Ever!" Reviewers were: "Jude" (age 15) and "The Amazing Six" (study group aged 14-16). == Full article (open access): https://lnkd.in/dK_eyHmy #climatechange, #education, #sustainability
Thanks for sharing Andreas Rasche, this is really great and I love that it speaks to young people. I wonder if the language can be even be simpler to reach the minds and hearts of younger readers, but very inspiring work.
Love the title.
"Education is one key factor to tackle the climate crisis, and education does not start at University" well said Andreas Rasche I couldn't agreee more on this. This is why 2 years ago at #thecsrbonalmanacnetwork we created Generation Carbon kid guide on climate change based on the contents of The Carbon Almanac. It's also free to download and it has been translated in 21 different languages. This is why we at #GenerationCarbon here in Italy we have involved about 20.000 kids aged 7-10 in a brand new educational program on climate change in this last school year. And of course the program is based on Generation Carbon kid guide.
Now is the time for these young minds to have a seat at the boardroom table....
Great to see this, as everything starts with awareness
Tina Deutsch interesting approach, isn‘t it?!
Love this! Parents for Climate
In my country (Uganda) majority of people still think climate change happens elsewhere, its got nothing to do with us. With the right resources, we can ensure the message gets to individuals of all ages and levels of understanding/comprehension. Thank you for sharing
Francesca Eggleton I thought you might like this
Well said Andreas! WRÅD, Alice Fortuna, you might want to share some of the most recent projects with FAO and other schools hereafter. Great examples of #educationforchange.
