#KaplanMobray #KeynoteSpeaker #BlackHistoryMonth #Inspiration One of the great lessons we can learn from history is the power of inspiration. Everyday as you live your 24 hours you are rewriting history, creating a new legacy, and living the possibilities of someone in history who inspired your walk. As Black History Month comes to a close I wanted to share one of my inspirations. Paul Robeson also known as the 20th century Renaissance man. As a concert musician, actor, professional athlete, activist, singer, lawyer, and public figure he broke conventional norms in his ability to create a #personalbrand for excellence across many fields of human endeavor. Today as an entrepreneur, speaker, author, musician, athlete, executive, actor, dancer, traveler and public figure I proudly stand on the shoulders of Paul Robeson and other figures in history who inspire me to create a shoulder for others to stand on in the future. Sharing this video that one of my clients inspired me to put together for Black History Month in celebration of the power of history and excellence. Who are you standing on the shoulders of? Who are the people in history who inspire your journey to create new history for others? What are the dimensions of your identity that you proudly celebrate and inspires your excellence? Excellence is a Choice. “Live life by decision not by default.” #KaplanMobray #KeynoteSpeaker #PersonalBranding #Leadership #PerformanceExcellence #MentalToughness #HighPerformance #Green #Energy #MentalHealth #BusinessGrowth #EmotionalResilience #GrowthMindset #CareerGrowth #Innovation #CMP #EventProfs #InternationalSpeaker #SpeakerBureau #MeetingPlanners #The10KsofPersonalBranding

Happy Lunar New Year from an affable Dragon who is turning 72 in April. In the meantime, this is Black History Month and Leap Year on the Gregorian Calendar, and it's February when many Americans celebrate Valentines Day. My recommendation is that we celebrate AT LEAST once every four years (Leap Years) on February 29th, RECONCILIATION DAY. This will be a day to celebrate ALL kinds of love, especially self-love, love of ideals, and unconditional love as we reconcile our individual actions, routines, patterns with our many responsibilities to the collective consciousness. Here is a short video I produced for the occasion: https://lnkd.in/g5sfNyZE

A patchwork quilt of everyday heroes.” – Lisa Baker ************ A Call to Action & Reminder In the vibrant patchwork of Black History Month, we find a call to action and a poignant reminder. Each of us, is a thread in the intricate quilt of everyday heroes, contributing to a larger narrative. Channeling the power of impact this Black History Month February, a month rich with inspiration, always serves as a potent reminder of the indelible footprint we can choose to leave on the world. Reflecting on the unforgettable words of Maya Angelou, "I work really hard to just focus on the joy of the work that I get to do and the impact that I know it has on the world," I am reminded of the transformative power each of us possesses. February is Black History Month! Join us throughout the month in honoring the contributions, achievements, and sacrifices by Black Americans and Canadians. Origins of Black History Month in the US date back to the 1920s. February was chosen as the celebratory month to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, two important figures in Black history. President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month in 1976, calling upon the public to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” Today, Black History Month is a time to honor the contributions and legacy of both Black Americans and Canadians across American/Canadian history and society—from activists and civil rights pioneers such as Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Viola Desmond and Rosa Parks to leaders in industry, politics, science, culture and more. This Black History Month, we at Halliday, Watkins & Mann P.C. celebrate the richness of African American culture and honor the brave leaders who paved the way for progress. Their stories of courage in the face of injustice continue to inspire all Americans to build a more just and equitable society. One of our focus areas as a firm is to serve diverse communities with dignity and respect. We believe that when any group faces barriers to accessing credit or fair treatment under the law, it impedes society as a whole. As Dr. King showed us, darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. This month, we reflect on the light brought by civil rights pioneers. Their sacrifices moved our country closer to its founding ideals of equality and opportunity for all. While substantial progress has been made, the work is not yet finished. We must carry on the pioneers’ spirit through understanding, wisdom and peaceful action. Here at Halliday, Watkins & Mann P.C., we are committed to listening, learning, and growing to better serve people of all backgrounds. Because America’s diversity is and always has been its greatest strength. Our rich differences unite us in one common humanity and destiny. #blackhistorymonth #diversityandinclusion

This powerful statement encourages us to look beyond titles and accolades when we consider our achievements. True success lies in the resilience and tenacity we exhibit in the face of challenges. Every hurdle crossed is a victory, every barrier broken a triumph. Today, let's celebrate our personal journeys and the hurdles we've surmounted. Share your story of resilience in the comments.
