It projects into a foreseeable future, highlighting the potential reclassification of the coca leaf as "an emblem that protects the identity of the Andean-Amazonian Ancestral Peoples," as asserted by Bolivian Vice-President David Choquehuanca in Vienna last March. This graphic is a part of the second chronicle in the Coca Chronicles series, produced collaboratively by Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) and Transnational Institute. I'm glad to share that my first discussion paper for the Civility gUG is now live. As a Scientific Associate at Civility gUG, I had the opportunity to explore the concept of the "aggressive victim role" ("Die aggressive Opferrolle") and introduce it into the social science discourse. Guided by the Civility Theory, my paper delves into how individuals or groups perceiving themselves as victims sometimes resort to aggressive behaviors to assert power or seek retaliation. Through engaging case studies, I hope to spark a dialogue on this topic.
