This is worrying! Although we have started to become aware of the many ways the Curriculum lacks the breadth and depth it requires. More needs to be down to create equality and diversity in all curriculum areas. As a History and English teacher, I make it my responsibility to create a inclusive and diverse syllabus for my learners. However, this can be very difficult especially in FE colleges when learners are not exposed to or studying either of these subjects. We must start to champion all members of our society and take pride in all they have achieved. It all starts in the classroom. #FE #EDI #Decolonisethecurriculum
Lavinya Stennett, Founder and Director of The Black Curriculum, says we need to push our EDI curriculum work further, and highlights the importance of embedding Black British history in the curriculum. Find out more in our recent blog: https://lnkd.in/eBFv58GR
