🌟 Excited to share insights from my latest blog: "We’ll take what Apple is having: Why Copying DE&I Initiatives Isn’t The Answer" Ever heard the saying "You don’t need to reinvent the wheel"? It sounds appealing—why start from scratch when there are proven solutions out there? But when it comes to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives, it's not that simple. Many clients approach me wanting to replicate DE&I strategies from industry giants like Apple or Google. Understandably, they assume that if it works for them, it'll work for everyone. But here's the reality check: what works for one organization might not necessarily work for another. Here's why copying and pasting DE&I initiatives isn’t the silver bullet: 1️⃣ The Need for Tailored Solutions: Every organization is unique, with its own culture, challenges, and demographics. Effective DE&I initiatives require a deep dive into these specifics and a tailored approach that addresses the organization's unique context. 2️⃣ Solutions Will Miss Context: What works for a tech giant might not align with the needs of a manufacturing company. Factors like industry, company size, and location significantly influence DE&I strategies. 3️⃣ You Will Only End Up With Surface-Level Solutions: Blindly replicating initiatives leads to superficial, checkbox-style approaches that fail to address underlying issues. Meaningful progress in DE&I requires a deeper understanding and targeted solutions. Don't settle for mediocrity. True progress in DE&I demands a nuanced, tailored approach. Let's move beyond imitation and create solutions that truly reflect your organization's values and priorities. Looking for support in DE&I? Dive into my book "Beyond Comfort Zones: The Real-Talk Approach To Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion" and DM me, let's chat about how we can elevate your DE&I efforts together! 🚀 https://lnkd.in/eqnEz-5v #DEI #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #RealTalk #InclusiveCulture #ActionableInsights #Authenticity #JoinTheConversation #ShareYourStory #BeyondComfortZones

Higher prices don't always mean better quality, but it can make sense. Hear me out! Companies can attract better talent to work for clients if they charge more. In an effort to help clients, companies may raise prices to invest in quality. Of course, not everyone will understand. Some will prioritize functionality over exceptional service. Take cars for example. Someone who just needs basic transportation might be satisfied with any four-wheeled vehicle. However, focusing on building the greatest car possible attracts customers who value that quality. This is how brands are built. Some car companies sell fewer cars, but their brand value is much higher. This was an intro, because our prices will increase again as it has been increasing yearly over the past five years to reflect our commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients by hiring the top talents. If you're looking for a company to build your truly great mobile application, let's do it now! Let's schedule a consultation to see how our premium services can elevate your business. www.SmartAngleGroup.com

For the month of May and because I’ve been ruminating on the word “innovation” lately, I’ve decided to take a bit of a dive into the world of Lowe’s Tech! One of our core values is Continue Learning, after all… and Continue Learning I’ve gone and done. 😄 I’ve had the chance to network quite a bit these past few weeks and had a great number of conversations with some hard working folks at our Tech Hub in Charlotte to learn about some projects they’re working on and what the word “innovation” means to them. They’ve provided some fantastic, knowledgeable responses and I’ve been learning tons that I would not have known otherwise. Being able to have these conversations could only be made possible by an environment that fosters networking opportunities - one of the big draws of being able to work from the Hub some days out of the week! Speaking of innovation, one thing I wanted to do ever since seeing it unveiled at the most recent Store Managers’ Meeting was to test out our Style Studio app and, while I was at it, the Apple Vision Pro. Yesterday, I made a visit to the SouthPark Mall Apple Store. Though sadly I was unable to demo Style Studio in the 30 minutes I was allotted for Apple business-related reasons 😅, just the entire experience of being enveloped in the world of the Apple Vision Pro was immersive enough that I knew for a fact that the future of kitchen design through Lowe’s is clearly in good hands. Innovation is always exciting and keeps the world moving and improving! And you don’t have to be a software engineer to answer this question: what does #innovation mean to you? #LowesTech #AppleVisionPro Lowe's Innovation Labs

FSD Reflection #2 - LG Overview: Industry & Company Orientation I was surprised that LG had a division dedicated to creating software for modern auto parts, as opposed to only electronics devices like TVs, refrigerators, or washing machines as I had assumed. In actuality, LG's three core business sectors are telecommunications, chemicals, and electronics. Everyone at LG has an open mind, and the leaders always acknowledge, appreciate, and listen to employees. LG's basic principles are people-centered, future-focused, youthful, technological, etc. Because of this, even though the leaders might have already mastered the code of conduct last year, they must review it every year. LG cares deeply about its employees' health, as shown by the numerous sports clubs it has established, including ones for badminton, football, and other sports. Ms. Lan Huong offered some incredibly useful information at the session's conclusion for our future professional development. It is important to experience and consider the sector you enjoy in order to avoid selecting the incorrect one. If you do select the correct industry, you must convert your initial interests into accomplishments for both you and the business so that you can be inspired enough to pursue this career. The two key points she underlined at the session's conclusion were that if you want to advance your career, you must first constantly increase your personal potential and, secondly, continuously create a network of professional relationships in the field you've selected. From her sharing, I realize that the environment is one of the extremely important factors for my future career development journey. An environment where the leaders and colleagues know how to listen and respect will help me be more motivated, thereby creating small achievements at work and ultimately increasing my desire to stick with the profession and position I have chosen. #FSD #FSDGEN4 #Ecommerce #DigitalMarketing

The Dyson redundancies feel different…. It’s incredibly disheartening to hear about the 1000 redundancies announced by Dyson this week (https://lnkd.in/dd6t9myQ). The impact on so many individuals is truly saddening. This announcement feels different, though. Often, we hear about re-organisations, the clearing out of middle management, or the flattening of teams. But this time, the breadth of people affected is striking – from graduates in their first year to senior members with over a decade at the company and across so many different teams and disciplines. I’ve lost count of how many ‘open to work’ posts over the last few days. It’s definitely the time to be hiring engineering talent, with so many talented engineers now looking for work. As someone who used to teach undergraduate engineers, Dyson was always one of those premier employers that students aspired to work for. It was seen as prestigious to have a role there. It’s difficult to get a feel for the full story and I don’t want to speculate. I’m sure we will see plenty of analysis and case studies on what happened in the future anyway. But, reflecting personally, I can’t remember the last time I even considered a Dyson product when shopping for household items. To those impacted by these announcements, if there is anything I can do to help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My DMs are open, especially for those in the early stages of their career or recent graduates. Even if you just need someone to help you strategise on what comes next. #Dyson #Redudancy #Engineering #Design
