It's an honor for us to be recognized among many working to do so much. Here are a few quotes of why, together, we are better. "For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other." – Millard Fuller. "One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone." – Shannon L. Alder. "In our community, we have a duty to strengthen the weakest among us to build a better society." – Bill Courtney. Vision: Create vibrant, relevant, sustainable rural communities. Mission - Deliver first-in-class- innovations and solutions where others won't.
We are thrilled to be nominated for the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber's Economic Impact Award.

Helping introverted leaders find their voice, advocate for themselves, and make their greatest impact without acting like an extrovert | Leadership Coach | INFJ | Ex-Bain, Sonder, and Wave
We needed to sell at least 100 tickets to cover costs. Two weeks out from our first conference, we had only sold 20. To add to the panic, 3 speakers and 1 venue had just canceled on us. As the conference co-founder, I had 2 choices: 1. Focus on Probabilities: Give up and let everyone’s hard work go to waste 2. Focus on Possibilities: Rally the team and continue charging forward Nineteen-year-old me chose to do the latter. I emailed my team and shared the story of the Spanish explorer Hernán Cortés. In 1519, his army landed on the shores of Mexico where they faced an uphill battle. Not only were his men greatly outnumbered, but disease was rampant and resources were scarce. As they marched into battle, Cortés ordered his lieutenant to burn all their boats. He forced them to commit by removing the option to retreat. He knew that in times of desperation, pressure can be a more effective motivator than inspiration. As John Assara says: “If you're interested, you'll do what's convenient. If you're committed, you'll do whatever it takes.” I knew we had to commit as a team. So I told my team that we needed to burn our boats and go into the next two weeks with an unshakeable belief that making the conference happen is the only thing we can do. I told them that we had worked so hard to put together an amazing conference and owed it to ourselves to make our vision a reality. And over those next two weeks, the dedication, hard work, and creativity of our team gave rise to the first ever Queen's Conference on Philanthropy, which went on to run for over 10 years. A huge shout to the QCOP founding team for believing in the vision and having the courage to burn the boats and make it happen! 🔥🚢 Chloe Agache Morgan Graham Lauren Capron Georgia Balinsky Joshua Hong, Justin Yip, Cheryl Ng, Andrea Richardson, Nadia Humayun, Trina Skanthavarathan #leadership #perseverance #burntheboats 👋 Hi, I’m Amanda! Executive Director of STEM4Real | Author of STEM for ALL | International Keynote Speaker | Podcast Host of Teaching STEM #4Real | Equity and Antibias STEM, AI, and CS Professional Development
Because I am really impatient, I am releasing the draft flyer of the entire scope and sequence of our symposium! Here are a few reasons why this symposium is not really your average symposium...cvent.me/xPR0dr 1) Intimate Setting: Small groups ensure personalized, 1:1 support from facilitators. Our speakers and facilitators are going to leaving knowing your name and your work. We're capping the event at 50! 2) Representation: The majority of our speakers are BIPOC, embracing true representation and amplifying historically overlooked voices. We get to hear from people that are representative of the students we serve. 3) Hands-On and Minds-On: Practical, actionable sessions that go beyond the typical conference experience (and a catered lunch! NO BOXED LUNCHES!) 4) There is a leadership strand and pedagogy strand where teams of teachers, coaches and administrators from multiple areas of education come together to co-design and co-create your STEM for ALL Action Plans. *5) And for the VIP guests: An exclusive VIP Dinner with an opportunity to engage directly with leading Black and Indigenous scientists and engineers. We are capping it at 50! Will you join us? cvent.me/xPR0dr

[August - Membership and New Club Development Month 👯♀️👯♂️] Why did you choose to be a part of Rotary? What solidifies your commitment to stay? Since your journey with Rotary began, what impacts have you fostered and achievements have you made? The month of August stands as a testament to our dedication, shining a spotlight on our members and the transformative work we accomplish in communities worldwide. It’s an opportune moment to reflect on how individuals can deeply engage with and contribute to the Rotary mission. Rotary is constantly advocating for membership growth and the broadening of our fellowship circle. Potential members are within our reach, scattered across various walks of life. It's essential to initiate meaningful conversations with qualified business and professional leaders about the myriad benefits that come with joining Rotary. Ensuring that club meetings, service endeavors, and fellowship gatherings are not only engaging and enjoyable but also deeply fulfilling, is paramount. By introducing more hands-on and impactful projects, we give our members a tangible sense of making a lasting difference. For clubs to flourish, we must adopt a proactive approach - seeking out new members, nurturing existing ones, and fostering the establishment of new clubs within the community. Together, let's amplify our collective capacity for doing good, making each act of service a stepping stone towards a better world. #Rotary #MagicOfRotary3450 #RID3450 #MembershipAndNewClubDevelopmentMonth
