Christmas is expensive and people have very different ideas about how much to spend and what’s important. For some people food and wine is important, while for others presents are their love language. So how can you make sure you do not have conflict about finances over the holiday season? 1. Talk to your partner before Christmas about what’s the most important to you and ask them what’s the most important to them? 2. Sit down and set a budget for Christmas together, so neither of you have to worry about it raging out of control. Setting dollar limits also helps avoid arguments post festive season. Making agreements is key for staying out of conflict and having great communication in your relationship. If you want to go outside of the budget, talk to each other about it before buying things, so everything is up front and no one feels blindsided when agreements have already been reached. #MoneyTalks #BudgetingTips #ConflictResolution #FamilyMediation #AustralianMediator
