New paper and video alert 🚨😃 Where do we even start with picking the best interventions to test in the field? After all, field experiments are time and cost intensive. This new paper by Anna K. Zinn, Danyelle Greene, Csilla Demeter, PhD and Sara Dolnicar introduces a new "extended pre-testing protocol in the lead-up to field studies" that can help! https://lnkd.in/ghUmrkq4

New paper out! 📣 Keziah Hobson, VWT PhD student, has published a paper exploring the concepts of tolerance and acceptance of recovering carnivores. The research demonstrates that peoples’ tolerance of a carnivore is highly influenced by direct and indirect experience of that species, and improving attitudes and increasing acceptance is key. In a recent publication in the 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘺𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, the Pojman research team explores an innovative method for initiating free-radical thermal frontal polymerization of acrylates using charge transfer complexes. The method offers a promising approach to prevent the generation of bubbles caused by small-molecule volatilization, thus reducing porosity and improving material performance. In 2020 a research study by SST Lab’s team examined causation patterns for pedestrian crashes. 17 key patterns were identified and some of them are related to for example, driver distraction or sudden change in pedestrian trajectory (among others). This research effort also became one of the most cited papers in the Journal of Safety Research. Authored by Dr. Lishengsa Yue, Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aty, Ph.D, PE, F.ASCE, F.ITE, Drs. Wu, Zheng and Yuan. Link to the paper: https://lnkd.in/e2z-h7EN Most citied articles list: https://lnkd.in/eGe_dWzG

I am so glad to share our latest publication. Special thanks to Jean Louzada, Thiago Souza and my supervisor prof. Laurindo de Salles Leal Filho. This paper proposes an innovative methodology to characterize the rheology of mineral slurries based on the Principle of Maximum Entropy (PME). PME makes it possible to investigate the flow conditions of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids in laminar and turbulent regimes. The term entropy is not restricted to the thermodynamic state function. In the context of information theory, entropy is a measure of information or uncertainty about a given variable.
