Here is a #casestudy on an advanced light-weight torpedo (#software IV&V). The Advanced Lightweight Torpedo (ALWT) is an antisubmarine torpedo that can be launched from multiple platforms, such as ships, #helicopters , or aircraft. It has an advanced on-board computer that enables target detection systems in both active and passive modes. The target location can be either pre-set or changed based on opportunity. The system also has powerful Homing attack capabilities. https://lnkd.in/gBsu2dEr #avionics #aerospace #aviation #aviationindustry

2,000% - that's how dramatically instances of GPS interference spiked between 2018 and 2021. Military and commercial aviation leaders know how critical it is to develop resilient backup #navigation systems that can provide #APNT when GPS signals are jammed or spoofed. That's why SandboxAQ designed AQNav, which leverages the Earth's crustal magnetic field for an unjammable navigation backup. SandboxAQ's Luca Ferrara and Craig Fitzpatrick discussed AQNav and the current state of navigation in this video: https://bit.ly/4eKAaL2 Learn more about AQNav at our website: https://bit.ly/3RwXfqJ #NavigationTechnology

Minimizing Downtime: How AOG Events Impact Airlines Like Delta https://lnkd.in/dgXK776M
AAA Air Support, California, United States Read it here > https://lnkd.in/daYT4Pis Article: Minimizing Downtime: How AOG Events Impact Airlines Like Delta by Matthew Kerster AOG stands for “Aircraft on Ground”. It’s an unexpected event that indicates an aircraft has failed to operate and can’t fly. AOG’s can be caused by technical issues, such as engine or avionics failure, or weather-related problems, such as fuel contamination or bird strike damage. Other reasons include mechanical errors, scheduling errors, and mandatory inspections. #aircraft #flight #airlines #aerospace #aeronautics #boeing #airbus #usa

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is spearheading an ambitious initiative, the SPRINT (Speed and Runway Independent Technologies) program, to create a groundbreaking vertical-takeoff-and-landing (VTOL) aircraft. This project, involving collaborations with Aurora Flight Sciences, Bell Textron, Northrop Grumman, and Piasecki Aircraft Corp, aims to surpass the V-22 Osprey's speed by reaching 400-450 knots. With a budget of $15 to $20 million for the initial phase, DARPA expects a fully designed, built, and flight-tested prototype by spring 2027. The program emphasizes high-speed capability, stable hovering, efficient transition between flight modes, and distributed power systems. Companies have the flexibility to propose crewed, uncrewed, autonomous, or semi-autonomous designs. The potential applications for these high-speed VTOL aircraft are extensive, including special operations, logistics, personnel recovery, and medical transport, particularly in areas without traditional runways. While the outcome of SPRINT is uncertain, it represents DARPA's commitment to pushing the boundaries of aviation technology. #darpa #sprint #vtol #militaryinnovation #aerospace #futuristicaviation #speedandrunwayindependenttechnologies #advancedaircraft #verticaltakeoff #aviationtechnology Source- https://lnkd.in/gsZyhg6F
