It's World Chocolate Day! Have you heard of Nazi Germany's secret plan to smuggle explosives inside chocolate bars? During WWII, Nazi Germany designed a not-so-sweet device - a bar of chocolate that was actually a bomb! This killer candy looked like any other, wrapped in black foil with gold lettering calling it "Peter's Chocolate." But underneath that innocent exterior was a secret steel and canvas compartment. When you broke off the end piece and pulled the canvas, it activated an explosive device rigged to detonate in just 7 seconds! So, why chocolate? British intelligence MI5 believed Nazi spies were plotting to smuggle these explosive chocolate bars into the War Cabinet and into the hands of Prime Minister Winston Churchill himself, knowing he had a sweet tooth.
