And I believe Wall St buyers deserve credit for stopping the downward home price spiral 12 years ago. Can you imagine what would have happened to home prices if large investor home purchases were outlawed, as some have proposed?

Let the home prices, reset, people are suffering and you are worried about wall street cronies. It is a shame for this great country economical system.

I can - they would have become affordable for “the people”.

I have presented this at Harvard GSD and Appraisal Institute, to debunk three myths.

has nothing to do with stock buyers, everything to do with real estate investors.

I’m not sure how you argue that today “wallst” doesn’t impact the housing market because they are such a tiny percentage of the overall market while at the same time saying they bailed out the average american homeowner 12 years ago. They are buying way more homes now than ever before. I personally believe that WallSt should be able to buy whatever home they decide to buy because that is capitalism, but you can’t talk out of both sides of your mouth.

What about REITs? The retail investors can indirectly own the SFR in the form of stocks. What about pension fund? The retail investor by their retirement fund indirectly own stocks of institutional portfolios. Who are the ultimate ownership of these SFR inventory? It’s actually worth discussion.

Housing would be affordable for lower middle class.

Been saying that every time the media paints Wall Street as villians. I saw it up close and personal, appraising the abject overpriced crap that lenders to back. Wall Street is like a roach, not all that pleasant to consider but without them we'd still be cleaning up that mess. And the way ii sounds, some in DC want to open up the irresponsible lending again....
