How can we deliver more health care to more people? That's the question on Philips' mind for this year's annual 2024 Future Care Index report, based on research conducted in 14 countries among health care leaders. The calls-to-action for more and better care for more people fall into three workflows: 1. Address burnout 2. Bridge insights (esp. deploying ethical and well intentioned AI), and 3. Act on sustainability -- for both financial and environmental goals. In today's Health Populi blog, I discuss this year's report and weave into the Hot Points conclusion the importance of design for omnichannel health care, everywhere. That includes a key quote from Dr. Shez Partovi, Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer with the company: "When I think of the future of healthcare delivery, I think of ‘your care, your way.'” Kathy O'Reilly Anna Hogrebe Joost Maltha CHPA Consumer Technology Association Tom Lawry American Medical Association American Hospital Association OSF HealthCare S&P Global HLTH HLTH Europe HIMSS #digitalhealth #healthinnovation #publichealth #healthaccess #healthequity #burnout #QuintupleAim #telehealth #omnichannel #UXhealth #equitybydesign #healthdesign #wellbeing #AIhealth #sustainability #ESG ##ESGhealth #climatechange #healthcitizens #HLTH #HLTHEurope #AHIP2024 https://lnkd.in/eR3Y8vpj
Jane - glad you put burnout first. Trying to squeeze more “productivity” out of providers by seeing more patients for briefer visits and longer hours just promotes burnout and kills real productivity not to mention the impact on outcomes and increase in errors. While there are efficiencies which can be made, such as, streamlining or even eliminating administrative tasks, trying to make healthcare into a assembly line doesn’t work. It also kills empathy which is essential for real healthcare.
We need less care for more people and more care for the few who need it and can’t get it.
I'd like to get a price check on that please. Don't they realize there's virtually no money left and nowhere to borrow it from.
Acting on sustainability for both financial and environmental benefits is forward-thinking.🔥 📌Bridging insights with ethically deployed AI is a game-changer. 📌Designing for omnichannel health care is key to accessibility.

2moBridging insights with AI would make sense -- but there is also a gap in the use of any technology by older adults. https://www.ageinplacetech.com/blog/plenty-tech-how-about-health-tech-use-older-americans
