CBIZ spent an afternoon at our DuPage Addison Children’s School, in support of Head Start Early learners. They weeded, added mulch, cleaned and sanitized toys. One member of our Head Start staff, Laura A., shared that “Having a corporate sponsor do volunteer work in our classrooms is incredibly meaningful. It demonstrates a commitment to education and community engagement, while also providing valuable support for our teachers in our classrooms. It creates a collaborative environment where everyone benefits. Thank you for your volunteer time!! I really appreciate all the help you provided at ACC."

What have you bought recently for $25? A nice lunch? A gadget (or in my case organization things I've seen on Instagram) from Amazon? Or the newest skincare product (another weakness of mine)? For the same price, you can invest in a Girl Scout's journey toward self-discovery. An investment of $25 is an investment in a girl to explore, make friends, and try new things. Redirect that $25 to a girl who could TRULY change her life with a Girl Scout membership. #girlscouts #investingirls
Tomorrow is Girl Scout Giving Day, a single day where we are calling on our supporters to help make more Girl Scout programming happen for girls in the greater Atlanta area! We need your support to provide “s’more” amazing memories for Girl Scouts. Just $25 can help cover the cost of a Girl Scout membership and provide endless opportunities for a girl to explore her interests and develop valuable skills. Learn more about Girl Scouts Giving Day and how you can make an impact: https://lnkd.in/g7PMZ--M

"How can I help?" I've been asked that question a lot lately. If you have signed up to volunteer for one of the eleven teams - thank you. That's what Tara would ask you to do. If you have volunteered in the past, and you plan to volunteer this year, don't drag your feet. Go sign up now. It's hard to explain the amount of pressure our Area Leads feel this time of year. Talk to people in your circle who would be a good fit for what we do. The bottom line is this: More adult role models = more kids. If you think this is important I encourage you to take action. This program brings people together. This program creates more community. Our culture is rooted in personal accountability. What we do is clear. How we do it is clear. Expectations are clear. Strive to be the best version of yourself. Help others do the same. Invest in youth. Invest in the future.

First Nations children are 11 times more likely than non-First Nations children to enter the child protection system. This Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Children’s Day, we are calling on all Governments to invest in and commit to meeting Target 12 under Closing the Gap to reduce the rate of over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care by 45% by 2031. We need to proactively prevent the issues that lead to the over-representation of First Nations children in the care and protection system, instead of reacting to the growing problems. We should be clear that our movements and movement leaders are targets for right-wing disinformation, legislation, strategy, and violence. And those attacks are well-funded.
