Docker has issued a critical alert regarding a significant vulnerability found in specific versions of Docker Engine. This flaw could potentially allow malicious actors to circumvent authorization mechanisms. Identified as CVE-2024-41110, this vulnerability has been rated with a severity score of 10.0. Although initially detected in 2018, it resurfaced in April 2024 and was promptly addressed in versions 23.0.14 and 27.1.0. Users utilizing impacted versions of Docker Engine are strongly advised to update to the latest releases to safeguard against potential security risks. Additionally, Docker Desktop versions up to 4.32.0 are also susceptible, with a solution anticipated in version 4.33. It is crucial to highlight that any privilege escalation is contained within the Docker Desktop virtual machine and does not extend to the underlying host.
