Celebrating Success - We all know it is one of the crucial things to do in every company. - 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Celebrating success boosts employee morale and motivation. You know those moments you get that make you sit back and pinch yourself? Having a retreat for Boyd Grants was one of those moments for me. This company has grown so much, and I am so thankful for each client who has got us to this point! Focusing on the roles we play is far more important than the titles we hold. Titles are temporary and can change, but the impact of the roles we perform will be remembered.  Those who prioritize titles should consider the reality that once these titles are gone, the recognition may fade. However, if we truly fulfill our roles and responsibilities, the positive impact we make will last, regardless of any title changes. It's the contributions we make and the value we add that define our legacy.

Heard this in my first meeting of the day! “Wise man learns from his mistakes, Wiser man learns from the mistakes of others, The one who has all of the answers and who knows everything, is the fool in the room. “ One of the many reasons I love mentoring the next generation of investors and entrepreneurs because if they take the opportunity to learn from the silly things I’ve done they will be better for it. One of my peers in my role before joining Allied Federal Solutions LLC always used a term from the Bible of “Seek Wise Counsel” which I’m getting better at but always have room to grow. In this new role I’m getting to learn from some brilliant corporate officers on how to build culture, build the right team, and how to serve your team. Onward and upward.

I think the biggest key to success is surrounding yourself with people who inspire you. Last night I was in a room full of people that inspire me every day to be better not only for myself, but for my clients. This past year with New York Life has developed my professionalism in ways I never imagined, and I can’t wait to see what my team and I accomplish in 2024. When you meet one of your heroes and you swap storm stories and you lead with your management fails, move to how you volunteered during Florence at the Friday Center under her leadership, mention how you really appreciated her leadership and finish with "you are everything I want to be and more." And she replies, "You were a start-up, I inherited the American Red Cross." My most prized possession. I was expecting a signature not a note. Be mindful she carried on a full conversation while signing and never missed a beat. Her leadership tips. 1. Hire slowly. The pain of a vacancy is easier to deal with than the pain of a bad hire. 2. Hire diversity; people who think differently. My heroes do not play sports. They save lives and empower others to do the same!
