I did an IG Live earlier today with my good friend and fellow CNS Abra Pappa She's an absolute wizard when it comes to real world application of nutrition science for us mere mortals in the kitchen 👩🏼🍳 One important concept that came up revolves around time... and the investment into food preparation. 🍳 Cooking is a critical component of the application of the culinary medicine prescription. However for many, the time it takes to prepare a meal can be hard to prioritize. It is a consequence of our environment. Our modern society is set up so that time is a commodity 👉🏽 that time spent on meal preparation feels wasted. Even when we value or find joy in cooking - it can feel like a burden. Our days are packed with work and responsibilities, our bodies are tired from everything we're asked to accomplish. This is where most of us "cheat" and fall back into less healthy eating patterns. This is when somepeople caim we need "willpower". I think willpower is impossible when you're trying to just survive the day. It makes sense that we leverage "food as medicine" - and at the same time we have to address the environment.
