Please join us in welcoming Matthew Simone, Founder of HomeSteady Health Direct Primary Care, to Direct Primary Pharmacy (DPP) as our newest Direct Primary Care Provider Partner! Matthew brings over 23 years of invaluable experience in healthcare, with the last 15 dedicated to serving as a Nurse Practitioner. Driven by his own frustrations within the current industrialized healthcare system, Matthew founded HomeSteady Health in Trumansburg, NY to offer more personalized and accessible care to his patients. With a strong belief in the principles of direct primary care, Matthew aims to prioritize patient well-being over profit margins, providing the time and attention that each patient truly deserves. His diverse background spans from providing care in the Alaskan bush to serving in fast-paced urban environments such as Trauma, Urgent Care, and the Emergency Room. Matthew's recent endeavors include spearheading and leading multiple urgent care facilities in the Philadelphia area, demonstrating his commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and quality on both local and regional levels. Furthermore, Matthew's leadership extends beyond clinical practice, as he actively contributes to various boards and committees within and outside the medical field. Currently serving as the President for Region 2 of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York, Matthew's dedication to advancing healthcare excellence is truly commendable. We are thrilled to have Matthew Simone on board with DPP, and we look forward to collaborating closely with HomeSteady Health to shape a brighter and healthier future for all our patients! #DPP #DirectPrimaryPharmacy #DPC #DirectPrimaryCare #HealthcareInnovation #Welcome

10 to 15. That the duration, in minutes, of a typical visit with a physician in your life. However, 45-60 minutes is the typical visit length with your direct primary care doctor or nurse practitioner! Imaging being happy because you're heard! This increased visit duration is “where the physician can delve more deeply into the patients’ questions and concerns”.[1] And in addition to longer, more substantial visits that allow more time to focus on the whole patient, the American Academy of Family Physicians states “DPC benefits patients by providing substantial savings [which reduces] overhead and negative incentives associated with fee-for-service third-party-payer billing". And DPC plans can be a very cost effective way for employers to attract and retain top talent, which increases productivity and profitability. Contact Island Direct Primary Care today to schedule an office call with our own founder and Doctor of Nursing Practitioner John W Rothwell III! We're looking forward to visiting your business and employees and improving their patient outcomes and your bottom line! #SNF Diaries #SNFLIFE #SNF ADMINISTRATORS #SNFDON Just received a Subpoena from a nursing home case that occurred 8-9 years ago when I was working as an Administrator. I vaguely remember this case even less the details of the case. What I do feel good about is that I had a strong DON and Clinical team with good processes at that time. Is it fool-proof No? Is it a silver bullet No? This is a reminder to ask yourself as an Administrator or Leader. How involved are you in high risk patients? Do you know how many wounds you have? Do you attend Clinical Meetings? How is your relationship with your family members? Are you rounding? Do you have a strong clinical admission process and post follow up? How strong is your relationship with your DON and your involvement with Clinical? Your Clinical team should not work in isolation the Administrator's involvement is key. Yes, the clinical meetings are long but you don't need to be part of chart reviews but you do need to know your wounds, high risk patients, critical I'll patients, Hospital discharges and ensure your DON reports that admissions chart audits and Hospital discharge charts were completed 100%. I like to share sucess and positive things but also lessons, challenges and learning opportunities. I don't know what the outcome will be but I do remmeber well who my team and DON were at the time and the consistent process we had in place.Lawsuits come with the territory and it impacts so many people. I am hoping for the best outcome for all parties.

Ateev Mehrotra, Sadiq Y. Patel, and colleagues showed that over 25% of healthcare visits are currently delivered by advanced practice providers, and “almost all these practitioners work in teams that include physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants working together.” In my own practice, I’ve seen how powerful team-based primary care can be in delivering effective value-based care for patients. Great to see the collaboration reflected in this study! At Sitka, we see that over 60% of the time, our specialists are collaborating with APPs on managing the complex, chronic conditions that their patients face. https://lnkd.in/eiDur7CK
