2024 kick off meeting! ✔️ Why was this important? I wanted to speak about all the progress we have made in the last 3 months and show credit to the employees that have made, that possible and there individual contributions to this success. Somtimes it can get very busy and not eveyone is aligned on what’s doing well and what we are achieving showing the success and growth, encourages the team to strive forward and be proud of there work and results. “You are only as good as your team” We discussed the goals for the next 3/6 months all launches and ideas this created a more creative space to float ideas around✔️ Then I wanted to ask what eveyone needed if they didn’t like how some things are done, or would they like anything in the office or to learn anything new? Not everything will be possible or accepted but it’s important to have a happy healthy work environment to create valuable work, where opinions are heard ✨

🏃♂️ Ever needed to interrupt a run-away dialog in a team meeting? Try 𝙀.𝙇.𝙈.𝙊. Having a way to stop non-value adding dialog in a polite and respectful manner is crucial for teams to stay on track. 𝙀.𝙇.𝙈.𝙊. stands for "Enough, lets move on." When the team agrees upfront to check non-value adding dialog by invoking 𝙀.𝙇.𝙈.𝙊. it offers a psychologically safe way to reorient the team toward value, without being rude. Teams can also have a physical representation of the 𝙀.𝙇.𝙈.𝙊. like a "Stop" sign, or a stuffed animal. Get creative, and make sure to get everyone to agree to the rules of engagement before situations arise. You'll find your team becoming closer, improving communication and reducing friction.

Last week we held our monthly all-hands meeting. As always, we took the time to welcome new teammates and celebrate our colleagues’ birthdays (Diane May T. went swimming with turtles at a marine conservatory on her big day! 🐢) We also took some time to practice what we preach so often here on social media: we launched an internal experiment to help us design better products and features. 👩🏼🔬 Like any organization, each of us spends most of our working hours with colleagues in our own area. We want to ensure that our organization does not become siloed and that we are constantly learning from each other’s points of view. 🤔 So we divided into four cross-functional teams with representatives from each area within the company. For this first experiment, we will spend the next few weeks brainstorming ideas for making our products more lovable. 💖 We are excited about this transition in our way of thinking about how to achieve our collective goals and overcome challenges because we are running an experiment at two levels: 🙌🏼 Do these cross-functional teams help us collaborate better internally? 😍 Do new features help us create products that are of the highest value to our customers? We can’t wait to report back and let you know how it goes! ✨ Learn more at native.tech. Ben Lang Camila Reyes Camacho Lukas Novak

Shout-out to our Skills Alliance - LiT team leader Zakiya Cadear for using our team meeting to consider our needs analysis on working from home. Topics discussed: - How do we stay motivated? - How do we handle struggles? - What each team member works on in the business? What I've learned: "A team is a group of individuals working together, yet separately on a shared vision. Our success depends on our human ability to recognize we're in this in favor of our individual and company's success." If there's anything you need to know about our team here Skills Alliance - LiT is that we are a family. Families take care of each other.

Happy new year everybody! 🎉 And welcome to the first #learningOfTheWeek in 2024. 😁 While preparing kick off events for several teams which took place this week, I consulted the Tuckman model developed in 1965 by Bruce Tuckman, consisting of 4 stages which are forming, storming, norming and performing. Later, a fifth stage "adjourning" was added. However, all teams start at the *forming* phase. In this phase, the talents of the team just met. There are a lot of unknowns about the purpose of the team, the mission, how collaboration might work, etc.. Everyone reacts different in such situations and it is important to take everyone with you on the journey. ⛵ As this was the first time I actively applied the Tuckman model, my key learning was how helpful the model is and how well the kick off events went. For each team, I created an overview containing answers to the following questions: - Why are we here? - What is the greater goal? - Who is in my team and which roles do they have? - What are my responsibilities? - Where can I get help? - What are the first goals in the next two weeks? - What are the goals in the next three months? Let me know if you've worked with the Tuckman model before? What were your experiences? 🔎 And shout out to Sven Stüven who introduced me to the Tuckman model in the first place. 🙏 Happy Friday everyone! 😁
