From Bavarian Tavern to UK Favourite: Albert's Schenke's Expansion Vision Picture the charm of a Bavarian tavern paired with a curated selection of beers - that's the essence of Albert's Schenke, and it's on an ambitious expansion trajectory. There's talk of 50-60 new venues shaping the UK's hospitality landscape, bringing a unique proposition everyone seems to be toasting to. At the heart of this vision is Mission Mars CEO Roy Ellis, whose strategy is infused with success from the Albert's Schloss concept, now aiming to replicate this with its homely relative, Schenke. While Schloss dazzles with grandeur in its palace-like settings, Schenke offers a cosy tavern feel that's already winning hearts in Liverpool. Ellis's insights are compelling: Schenke doesn't just serve a great beer; it creates a hospitable ambiance that's both local and exotic. Could this be the recipe for nationwide allure? Absolutely! The potential for growth seems as robust as the Bavarian beer culture it embraces. Ellis is not just dreaming; he's meticulously planning. Each Schenke venue would boast its own distinct personality, yet remain true to its founding spirit—a place where community, culture, and great beers meet. This isn't about saturating the market but enriching it, location by thoughtful location. So, what's on the menu for Mission Mars? A meticulously planned expansion, seasoned with experience and the quest for quality. One thing is clear; this is not just about tapping kegs but about opening doors to convivial experiences across the UK. Let's raise our steins to that! #AlbertsSchenke #Expansion #HospitalityIndustry

Sit down and eat! But first: The history of pizza begins in antiquity, as various ancient cultures produced flatbreads with several toppings. Modern pizza evolved from similar flatbread dishes in Naples, Italy, between the 16th and mid-18th century. @takeingent @detail.be #pizzaria #ghent #takein #detailbe

Driving purpose, strategy and sustainability in the Drinks Industry🍸 | Co-founder Avallen Calvados 🐝 🍏| Co-creator of Ron Bachué 🥃🇨🇴 | Consultant ✨ | Here for irreversible positive transformation ♻️
🍏 Exploring the Future of Calvados: Lessons from Gin and Tequila 🌟 In the dynamic world of spirits, innovation and heritage often blend to create the next big trend. As we look to the future of Calvados, the traditional apple brandy from Normandy, we can draw valuable lessons from the past successes of gin and tequila. 🍸 Gin experienced a renaissance by embracing its botanical diversity, catering to the evolving tastes of consumers seeking unique and complex flavor profiles. Craft distilleries and creative marketing played pivotal roles in transforming gin into a contemporary favorite. 🇲🇽 Tequila, once perceived primarily as a party spirit, underwent a transformation by highlighting its artisanal roots and regional authenticity. Premiumization and education about the rich culture of agave cultivation elevated tequila to a respected and sophisticated choice. Now, it's Calvados' turn to step into the spotlight. 🍏 Calvados boasts a rich heritage, with centuries of craftsmanship and a deep connection to the terroir of Normandy. By focusing on its unique production process, from orchard to bottle, we can captivate a new generation of discerning drinkers. Emphasizing sustainability, artisanal methods, and delicious natural apple flavor will resonate with today's conscious drinkers. 🚀 The future of Calvados lies in: 1. Educating drinkers about its rich history, delicious apple flavor and eco credentials 2. Innovating with modern twists, craft cocktails and a start serve - the appletini 3. Collaborating with top bartenders and influencers to showcase its versatility By leveraging these strategies, we can unlock the potential of Calvados and carve out its place in the premium spirits market - with special thanks to Damien Amadou, Pierre Martin Neuhaus, Damien Chabaud-Arnault and team who will spreading the word in Miami, Austin and Houston this week. 🇺🇸 RDV at Bar Convent Brooklyn next week for face time with Tim Etherington-Judge - where I expect he will be ordering an Avallen Spirits | BCorp appletini... or two🍸🍏 ! #Calvados #SpiritsIndustry #InnovationInSpirits #CraftDistilling #HeritageAndInnovation #FutureOfDrinks

As our entire global wine industry goes through a much needed (necessary) reboot, it’s not only the the foundations of geographic “places” that need to be evaluated, but every idea and idealogy that impacts the trade. What needs to be rebooted? (Not a complete list of necessarily in this order nor all having requirement for regulatory consideration); 1) Focal points of elitism in AVA/Appelation Systems; 2) Marketing and authenticity in advertising ethics considerations (as the new consumer smells a rat faster than you can say “Reserve” of “Made in France” or “Napa”) 3) #subsidy considerations on the impact of supply imbalances internationally; 4) #Internationaltradepolicy and the concepts of “free and fair trade” ….among many other topics (please suggest in comments) #winemakersforum #techtalk4wine #legacy #finewine #wineindustry
Alexandre de Lur Saluces may have hated his inclusion (indeed the existence) of the book Noble Rot, which told the story of the hostile takeover of one of Bordeaux’s most revered and ancient estates, but it did a huge amount to stir interest again in a wine appellation that has been in danger over the past century of being eclipsed by shinier names. Few people did as much to shine a light on Sauternes as Lur Saluces, who died on July 24, 2023, at the age of 89. He was a passionate defender of this stubbornly masochistic style of winemaking, where the noble rot ensures grapes with tiny yields that have to be treated entirely by hand, and the vagaries of the weather mean entire vintages are regularly under threat. From the time he took over from his uncle Bernard de Lur Saluces at Château dYquem in 1968, until his last moments at Château de Fargues in 2023, he did everything possible to uphold the importance of not only his own family estates but the appellation of Sauternes and Bordeaux itself. For 36 years he was the director – always the epitome of elegance, with a perfect suit and tie that could give Michael Broadbent a run for his money – of Yquem, the 1855 classification’s only Premier Cru Supérieur, or First Growth Superior, that had been in his family since 1785. His son Philippe de Lur Saluces remembers how the Hungarian-born London importer Akos Forczek once boasted to him ‘Alexandre, we had a Suduiraut ‘28 yeserday, it was amazing!’. ‘My father simply replied, conspicuously unimpressed: ‘1928? Oh… ‘ with a clear emphasis on nineteen. He was one of the very few men who could seriously pull off this joke’. Full obituary on the site this #newcontentthursday, free to read. Food markets and dining halls have been a staple of European culture for centuries. While vendors have been selling delicacies on the streets since the days of Ancient Greece, the ornate covered markets and grand food halls we know today are a 19th-century phenomenon. Which ones are making the biggest splash today? https://trib.al/tGLlJKX
