We're actively interviewing candidates for several positions on campus, and I often wish I could share with the students advice about how to prep for entry- level opportunities. Here's what I'd share: ⭐️ Relax! Especially when it's on a college campus, we want to know you and who you are, and not how you mirror your peers. Especially in group settings, we want to see what you bring to the table and how our team might benefit. ⭐️ Dress appropriately. If I don't have the ability to see or speak to someone in the role before I interview, I default to professional attire. Many colleges have professional attire closets that are available at free or reduced rates to help you find your fit. ⭐️ Have questions prepared. I love when a candidate can demonstrate their interest in the position with the space they get to ask questions. Even if it's "What's your favorite part?," I want to know that you're excited about this opportunity. ⭐️ Bonus: Send a thank you! If you can get the email(s) of interviewer(s) and share a quick appreciation, that sets you apart from your peers. What else would you want newer-to-the-workforce candidates to know?
