Education and talent don't make you successful at work... That's why asking about education when hiring is unwise. There's one trait that science proves will make you successful at work. In this video, Angela Lee Duckworth is going to share what it really takes to succeed. Video Credit: TED #Motivation #Inspiration
Good
That said- hard work will only get you so far. Without some education/ learned qualification there exists a ceiling to work progress
Thank you

We need to grow from our failures and not be afraid to fail again, but it shouldn't be for the same reason.
Thanks for liking this Sara, otherwise I would not have seen it! Whatever one may call it; grit, persistence, perseverance, determination, etc. These are qualities that make people great! Learning from mistakes and improving oneself, in my opinion, could be one of lifes greatest lessons.
These kinds of posts are dangerous, they present information in a way that makes it appealing, which is in turn confused for being correct. Education and talent are extremely important in selection and development. Perseverance, which has been relabeled as "grit" to sound more appealing and "faddy", is also important. Would you want your doctor to have a sub-par education, not be very talented, but has perseverance? Or an analyst that hasn't been formally trained in analytics, has little demonstrated talent, but has "grit"? Many traits are important, but to attempt to teach people to not look for a quality education and talent is irresponsible and a blatant marketing tactic for her book.
Find your passion, you’ll find your grit. When you do something you love, you will be in it for the long-haul.
