I have been managing Qualification/Validation activities for a CMO manufacturing single doses of pharmaceutical products in an aseptic environment for several months. It is a super technical and exciting environment! My mission is to temporarily replace the manager who has been absent for several months, ensure the proper functioning of the team, and enable his return under the best conditions. 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: - In projects, we manage from start to finish, with no temporary replacement (or more rarely). - No operational management of a service (participation in CODIR, One-on-One, objective or career interviews, no management of increases, etc.). - Field of action with variable geometry dictated by the events of the day. 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: - Need to know and communicate well with stakeholders. - Plan activities and resources. - Manage and support your team. 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱: - Spending time at the start of the mission to get to know the stakeholders saves a lot later (to be continued in another post) - Monitoring and resource management tools are essential to stay on course. - Adopt clear, direct, unambiguous communication: crucial to success. - For an interim manager: take charge of all managerial activities immediately to ensure everything is clear. I've reinvented my professional self multiple times At minimum, I've moved to 4 different role types and 3 different fields in my professional career. Started out as a PCA for children with behavioral issues on the spectrum. Next, I moved to case management, where I assisted adults with state benefits. I reinvented myself again, this time as an entry-level lab tech in preclinical research. I then worked my way up to lab manager. Next, I translated my experience to project management and was promoted to research PM. Finally, I leveraged 6+ years of PM experience to take my current role as a Senior PM. At every step of the way, I: > Audited my skills and experience. > Leveraged them to build new, desirable ones. > Applied them towards a new job/career pivot/opportunity. YOU can do this too. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The incumbent may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity. Lead & provide direction to the operations team including production, supply chain and manufacturing engineering groups to meet total manufacturing requirements. Develop high level goals and objectives based on business needs and growth across all operations functions. Set priorities of project efforts and conflicting needs. Ready the organization for product introductions, partnerships and acquisitions. Develop strategic initiatives that result in cost reductions, capacity increases and innovative manufacturing to meet customer demand and improve margins.
