As a Neurodivergent I need to use medicinal cannabis So that I can...... ..focus on the task at hand ..not feel overwhelmed by endless to-do lists and 28383 open tabs in my mind ..feel more at ease when "unmasking" in public ..get a good night's rest even though my brain loves to party 24/7 ..keep going even when the depression hits ..avoid burning out every other month ..stop beating myself up for being completely weird and wonderful But wait, cannabis is illegal in the UK, right? And, Shaz... aren't you insane for posting this on here? Yes and no... and a little bit. Hear me out... In November 2018, UK law was amended to allow the prescribing of cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs), however current restrictions mean not all patients have access to this treatment. The NHS currently only prescribe CBMPs for 3 conditions (Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting). Unfortunately, not only is the number of prescriptions handed out in comparison to demand significantly low, the range of conditions that can be treated on the NHS are restricted. However, It's now possible to obtain a private prescription for CBMPs through a private clinic for a range of conditions such as chronic pain, arthritis, migraines, fibromyalgia, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, OCD, PTSD, Depression..... The list goes on. In 2021, after years of self-prescribing with black market cannabis, I decided to get a legal prescription, this made a huge difference to the quality of my life. Getting a legal prescription has kept me away from harmful chemicals and intimidating drug dealers. It has provided me with legal safety when it comes to work and driving. It is prescribed by a specialist doctor in the UK and arrives at my door several days after, in a secure package. I'm sharing my story to help pave the way for others who may be self-prescribing medicinal cannabis or could use CBMP to treat their condition. This starts with announcing that I am proudly volunteering some of my time to the The Sanskara Platform Ltd, a charity organisation run by Mohammad W., advocating for patient access to CBMP across the UK. We have teamed up with Wellford Medical Clinics, Herbology (Kent's first CBD dispensary) and The Good Vibes Cafe & Vape Lounge (CBMP vape lounge in Maidstone) to put on a 2-day event on the 26th and 27th August! More information in the post below. Come along if you want to learn more, are interested in becoming a patient or even if you know someone self-medicating... There will be free teas and coffees, voucher giveaways... (sorry, no free cannabis) **We are actively looking for** 1) Volunteers (to help with the event) 2) News/Media outlets who would like to cover our story, the upcoming event and the work we are doing 3) Patient stories from ethnic minorities who currently hold a legal prescription or are/have self-prescribed Thank you all for your continuous support Shaz

A market with with $2.3 billion dollars in losses? 92% of the market unrealized? Mostly all losses to the traditional market and legal issues that could have been avoided. 95% of $150m going to an oligopoly of dispensaries and AUCC/AUCPs…7% of 463 retail dispensaries to sell 100% of AUCCs inventory? 37 of 200 dispensaries promised in year 1? Illegal, out of state brands on dispensary shelves? 0-4 on lawsuits. 200 farmers barely scraping by or on the brink of failure. Looks like success to me.

Imagine that a vicious disease, irresponsibly spread by some of the largest healthcare companies in the world, could be treated or avoided with a plant. Then imagine you were either forbidden from, or afraid of, even mentioning that plant's name for fear of ridicule from your peers -- or worse, losing your license to practice medicine. That is the situation today with cannabis. Most people today, either do not take the plant seriously as medicine, or have been instructed not to because of prohibitive laws. Health and public health practitioners frequently acknowledge its efficacy privately, but will not express this professionally or publicly. They are programmed to advise that cannabis treatments for disease or pain relief etc. "need more evidence." This is said, even though cannabis was used by humans for millennia with zero mortality, and Oxycontin, invented in the 1990s (A.D.!!), did what it does. Enter Marion McNabb, DrPH, MPH, who has been gathering just what the doctors ordered with Dr. Grinspoon under the Cannabis Center of Excellence, INC. Please share the post for this webinar series, that begins TOMORROW NIGHT at 7pm, to generate awareness with your contacts in healthcare, particularly those in public health. The series will discuss results from a study that looks at the use of cannabis for tapering, eliminating, or never using substances like opiates in the first place. It's long past time we all (including cannabis professionals and companies, by the way) take cannabis seriously. Doing so is critical if we ever want it be an option for so many who are in immediate need of its many therapeutic and at times lifesaving potential.
Save the Date! Next Tuesday April 9 Join Dr. Marion Mcnabb and Dr. Peter Grinspoon in a lively and interactive Q&A about medical cannabis as a harm reduction alternative. Dr. McNabb will present research results from the recent CCOE cannabis as an alternative study then we will turn to 30+ min Q&A from the live zoom audience. Register here for the free webinar: https://loom.ly/D5mMsYQ Thank you to our sponsors Holistic Health Group, Caroline's Cannabis, and Green Lion Partners! We've been getting a lot of questions... and make no mistake, we've also been hearing a lot of opinions on the recent recommendation of the FDA and HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES, UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF recommendation to recatogorize cannabis to Schedule III. We were pleased to see this overview piece from Michael Cooper and MJBiz that highlights what incremental wins are here to be celebrated should the rescheduling happen as well as highlighting key points of continued action we must be pushing for as our mission to mainstream is one that is a series of smaller wins across incremental battles as we strive for the ultimate goal. A must-read in our current climate of talking heads and squakers. Check it out below. 🔽 🔽 🔽 #mjbizdaily #cantstopwontstop #cannabispolicy #legalmarket #rethinking #reframing #plantbased #functionalmedicine #healthandsafety #fda
Opinion: Marijuana rescheduling is positive, but we must go further and faster
