The New London Whalers basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Albany Academy for Boys Cadets to 59 in the Whalers non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Whalers now sport a 7-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fitch for a non-league contest on Friday, January 21.

The Cadets (5-6) will now prepare for their contest against Crane (Valatie, NY). The Riders enter the non-league contest with a 5-8 record. In their last contest, Crane lost by Fonda-Fultonville (Fonda, NY), 44-42, in a league contest.
